Lol. Well you were really in the zone with Gouki today, and my parrying had deserted me. Don't like pulling her out because normally most players do what you do and pull their Chun out who is normally better than mine. But yeah GG's as always.

Larva18 / poorpeon. Your Urien is cool. Yeah you pulled that Elbow Smash / EX Dangerous Headbutt combo on me so many times I swear I was going to cry, but there wasn't really much lag and you weren't using lag tactics like shouldering all day long, so I got no problem with you using him. Your Urien is good.

ggs to bass, yeah that was a long set your ken pokes had me baffled for about 15 minutes they were too much for me to handle. odd thing is i play this game like its AE so i have a limited play style

ggs kneelb4me, you noticed that i did not go all out to defeat you like last time because you just squashed me, this time i was more tactical by the way are you using a different control method to last time or have i improved, i reckon your using a different method. that last match was crazy...lol......you da man for parries and twice you made me kneelb4u:-(

Yeah, GGs man. I was just giving you grief. I was going to play again but my brother kept spamming me with invites from Halo. (one of these days I'll learn to just appear offline).

However, I do love how the top-tier ranked online players retreat to their 'safe' characters (usually shotos) after dropping a match or two to a scrub like me. You don't need Ken to beat me, dude, your ORO is fierce. :clap:

GGs, tho, as always. You're one of the stronger players I've battled. (and quickly becoming my arch-nemesis with that damn Ken!!!)

GGs also to Chief Roca (I think that was your tag)

GGs too to the folks who only saw me for one game (win or lose) last night. I was messing around with the video recording software and digitized a few matches.

Man playing with Oro against you guys is a mission! Everytime I go to setup a juggle from block crouching it doesnt register me getting up so I get a cr.mp :xeye: Scoot you play pretty nice in our games, the connection kills me. Your Akuma looks like he has got better (more flashy!). Lol Conflicts when the screen froze when you activated Chuns super I took my chances for the parry :lol:

Yeah, sorry about that. I was doing some video work and I found that when you actually record the game play, you lose tons of frames during the recording, but it plays back just fine (dame computer!!!)

But hey, a couple of screen grabs later, and I finally ditched the Van Damme avatar!!! Yay!

huschka: nah its cool. but you also gotta realize that i have always loved playing shotos since day 1 back in 1991. I like a ground based game with footsies (even tho a real footsie game is a bitch to even do online), and shotos have always had the most fun footsies. ken is a character i like using, as well as akuma, and all the other characters i use. most people notice i rotate my characters pretty evenly depending on my mood. i would like to think i give a pretty decent variety to the table with 6 characters, compared to a lot of other people.

Its all good tho, sometimes I dont mind other times it frustrates me. Most of the time I just sign on to mess around, throw a few juggles around and try to parry some supers. Pepper is decent tho, he doesnt play rushed so doesnt make many mistakes and leave himself open much at all. About the tourney, everybody was there to compete and he came out on top. Personally I wasnt expecting him to win it, but props to him because he did. But he is a bigtime turtle :razz:

KlarKO, dont take that tournament too seriuosly... I got somewhat lucky and thats it. But there were only one guy in that tournament that I feared and that was luuwat. If I were to battle him in the final I think he would have won.

(and i wasnt using Urien against you did i? he's the only one i can play somewhat ok with.)

C'mon fella. This is what it's all about. People play differently under pressure, some get nervous, some over confident, some more patient etc.

Look at the tournament in perspective, there was no money at stake no prizes to be won and we're competing online. Maybe Pepper changed his game plan maybe he didn't. One thing is for sure however, he beat those he played and won on the day - fair and square.

Anything can happen on the day. Even Michael Schumacher loses once in a while <not often though, cough, cough>....

There will be another chance for us all to battle it out again in the coming weeks.....Watch out for a new thread! :tup:

I'm hesitant to put you under bad games hold dat, because you did a lot of good stuff in those games, combos and such, but I have to say that it seems as though even the slightest amount of delay augments your shoto game ridiculously.

Lots and lots of close range cross up spam and shoshoshos with ken, both of which seemed pretty impenetrable. You virtually never dash or even walk either, always seem to be either crouching or jumping, a really odd playing style to say the least.

To be honest I've never played anyone like you offline, so I don't know whether this is just my lacking as a player or the fact that the lag is giving you a huge boost.

Good games...for now.

I think the bad connections were my bad. My conn seems to be fine on my PC, but on Live Im getting stupid button delay, everything is taking ages to load and I keep getting booted off. Not to mention 80% of the games I try to setup end up with me getting booted off again :confused:

Demon I would have stayed for a load more otherwise. It kept pausing at the worst times!

yes ... the connection was indeed ugly unfortunately I think that is a problem of my connection (fastweb). It's the better connection in Italy (20 mb) but it has problems with some IP.... I do not know why.... but with who I do not have this problem the game is truly good hour not memory your case, if it were a my problem or the serveur xbox that it went badly. I hope to play newly with you also in order to try the logon

GGs to Golden Gunman. Our connection wasn't that great, mate, but it was playable. I admit you got robbed in a couple of our matches though, you should've beat Remy, Oro and Q. Killing me with that damn rose hurts my soul, I hope you feel good about that :rofl: Hope we get a better connection next time, cheers.

It's all good dude. I don't intentionally look to kill people with the rose but I sure do end up doing it a lot! Considering you are USA and I am UK, the connection was alright. I just have to remember not to try the Towards+RH -> SA1 against you USA guys because it's almost impossible to nail it with any lag. Play you again though, you're very good with many characters, and like your Alex too.

Hi, newbie on xbox live here. I've played some of you online and hope you remember playing me. Read a lot of the posts here before I decided to get the game and an account - but I dont use the mic as I'd rather not hear people swearing at me or whatever (plus I couldn't get it to work). And I apologise for the fact that I only play Ryu (occasionally Akuma for a laugh) - but I'm sure the good players will agree that I dont turtle or play cheap.

Questions - what do you guys mean by dropping? Is that verbal abuse over the mic or signing out in the middle of a game? Are there any other decent fighting games on xbox live? I read here that SnkVsCapcom has a serious lag problem. Can someone clarify? Has anyone from the UK managed to buy a copy of the EVO 2k4/3 DVD? Just wondering if they get pissy about international sales...

SHIM - I'm not assuming anything my friend. Our set was about 10 games, and I think you won at least 7 of them. The connection was quite decent, which is why I was enjoying the session. Thanks for sticking around as long as you did though - most players at your level dont give me more than 2/3 games unless I can manage a decent win early on.
I'm assuming Captain Ryu = Mr Hadoken? Good to know you didn't leave cos you thought I sucked! By the way, some people do take me perfect when they play cheap with Urien or Yun (I know some of you dont agree with the whole 'cheap' scenario, but I haven't evolved that far yet), but thats mainly cos I put down my controller as soon as I see the cheap stuff coming. As for your Akuma, I tried HARD to get a little poke in but couldn't, so that double perfect of yours was pure skill. I HAVE to play you again!

Good games to Aether. Forgive me if I didn't stick around too long, it's just that I find Q incredibly boring to fight against.

I mean you're good with him, and kudos for being effective with a low-tier, but battles against Q always feel like such a slog. Good Qs always manage to do the 3 taunts, and then tend to turtle after that, so the round starts taking an obscene amount of time. Accepted he has next to no options in his offensive kit, so rushing-down is out of the question, but the sheer length of the round makes the other player impatient and prone to fall for really stupid stuff like wakeup supers, which is pretty much the only thing Q can do anyway. I think that's the secret to a good Q player, they bring out the retard in the opponent. :xeye:

I know people bitch about ken all the time, but I'd much much rather fight a good ken than a good Q. The match is just interesting, because Ken's got a very complete set of both of offensive and defensive tools, the focus is really brought on the player to see what they can do with that.

Anyway this is fast turning into some magnum-opus pretentious essay, I'll shut up now...

Sorry about the Ryu whoring - I've only played this game for the last week or so and I dont wanna learn someone else before Ryu acknowledges my 'love' :karate: By the way, parrying the first hit of my sa2 at PB range was very impressive. NO ONE on live has managed to pull that one on me before. Taking the rest of those hits was bad luck. Though I doubt I'll be dumping Ryu anytime soon :blush:, I hope you dont mind playing me again. That was one of the best sessions I had :clap:

GGs to shim sang joon. You've developed a really dangerous yun. Anyway, have you considered changing the sa for you makoto? She's solid, good mix ups (a little predictable, you always went for cr.hp on dashback in wakeup), but you don't use her meter effectively at all. The only way you try to land the sa is by trying to catch a whiff, which is way too dangerous. sa1 = easy damaging super off karakusa, try it. Oh and definitely combo into ex hayates if you can, crazy stun damage.

Harmonaz, I think we played last week but you refused any rematches. If I taunt with Ken it's usually not because I'm trying to rag on you or anything, it's just that his taunt is quick, gives a power boost and should be done in corner situations when the opponent isn't quick recovering. Don't take it personally. Gamertag Reticent if you're confused.

Ditto - I can tell from Parry's playing style that he's very good, but I keep on getting that ~1s f'ing lag, which is why I quit after 1 match. Same thing happened when he challenged me with Chun. Bo11ox - let us know when you come to UK and I'm sure loads of the guys would love to play you.
Reticent - noted what you said about the Ken taunt. Though I doubt that was a reason for me to decline rematches - I usually stick around with taunters until I can get my own (justified) taunt in. I usually enjoy playing against Ken, so I may have left cause of lag or something. I'll send you an invite when I next see you.

AFAIK it was the first time I ever played you, but man I had a lot of fun. I quit XBL for a little while and just felt like going back on yesterday; you were the first I played against, and to be honest I was really surprised to see two things:

1- Urien without Aegis
2- Crazy corner traps with stuff I didn't expect and took a while to get used to (like c.mp into EX headbutt.. man I always jump back after a c.mp, and bam!)

Thanks for the heads up. I think my Makoto is slowly improving; ever since I've started to use the karakusa setups my game has improved wildly. You also did a good job of shutting down my f.fp pokes; dunno if it was deliberate, but man that pissed me off :)

Regarding Urien: I still believe Urien's super should be sa1 instead of the Reflector. You can get 2 long super bars and can be use to execute his Ex versions that are deadly by themselves. Personal Preference i guess. The tackle--> parry-->sa1/whatever or tackle-->wait for a reaction--> sa1 is good enough for me :clap: . No fancy combos needed.

You guys were playing more vicious than i remember - good stuff. My playing totally sucked this weekend, sorry about that. I played the cheapest Akuma scrub in the world and his non stop hurricane kicks and air fireballs really annoyed me - Can someone please give me a 'simple' counter strategy to the whole akuma hurricane kick scenario? Does he have any recovery time whatsoever from that move?

Pepper - you play the best Makoto I've seen. I quit both times cos of lag. Otherwise I might have gotten more than just a few lucky throws in. Show me some of your other players next time.
