That is most prolly down to lag... or poor aim :razzy: I know what you mean there man. You know when the game is lagging on Halo 2 due to the warping players. If players are warping that means where you were aiming 1 sec ago and shooting, they are not there anymore, and are instead shooting you in the ass.

With Halo 2, the way it is explained is that there is 1 host. This is like when you host a game, everyone is connected to you, not a server. You will have the best connection, everyone is connected to you. (This is why there is the Modem standby lag trick is being used.) In Halo 2's respects, you can say that the host is the server...but as i said, not a dedicated one. Which is why if the host leaves, the game needs to jump to another player. (blue screen "connecting") Press "BACK" while playing to see the Network conditions of each player. If all are green everything is OK, if everyone is RED...or majority of players are...heh.

With SF, its just you and your opponent and thus when it does lag the game just stutters\freezes. If you freeze, so does the other player. Anyway, that in laymans terms is XBL. :D Someone who knows Networking better than me can explain the discrepencies between different games, but XBL is definately P2P.

The reason for lagging and delay is that as you know, here in the UK, differnet ISPS have differnt upload speeds, so if there was a slight hic-up in the upload on either side, this will result in lag. :lame: A game like SF wouldnt need much upload, but the thing is about having a constant rate. Like when your using Bittorent or summat. The speed of a download\upload will not stay at say 10 kb/s all the time dead on...it fluctuates higher or lower.

XBL is based on a p2p basis, there is no server. Lag IS the same for both players involved.




lol WRONG! yes it is p2p, but the lag is not the same always for both players, there are many other factors involved in it. People always try to say this, but it quite simply isn't true. One person can have mad delay while the other can have hardly any. Don't tell me its not possible cuz i've tested it with a friend of mine.

Did you know that after a lag spike button delay can change for both players? If im not mistaken cvs2 online and 3s online are exactly the same as far as lag goes.

It's een tested before y a lot of people including me that 1 person can have more button delay then the other. Usually something like this is caused by a lag spike during the match and it affects the rest of the game.

Example. Me nd chemistren82 both live on long island. We usually get good connections. One day we were playing and talking on the mic. I was like damn dude i'm getting massive delay (like over 1 sec). He says yo my shit is coming out almost instantly. We tested other times too and it was back and forth. Sometimes it would be me and other times it was him.

This is what really bothers me about a lot of SS ranks...take astrobabe or Ryu75 for example. I've beaten them both quite thoroughly, and then they simply refuse to play me again after and decline FRs, despite the fact that they're reasonably decent players who can be fun to play. Some people just care way too much about their win ratio.

Oh, and DaRoka is still a penis, but now a penis that sounds like asthmatic dark vader over the mic. Why oh why did capcom make it so the voice comes out the tv?

Most disadvantaged character in Lag? Hugo IMO as due to his ungainly size and (already slow) speed it's both difficult to time jumps over fireball spammers and nigh on impossible to parry then counter.

Urien is stupidly safe in lag, I think he's the best character on Live. When you can't block/parry/punish his shoulder tackles, kneedrops and fireballs he's pretty much unbeatable because you can't get close to him while he constantly gets free damage. He doesn't have any special gimmick to exploit lag, his whole gameplay becomes retarded. Now I realize may sound bitter or something, but just keep in mind that: 1) I haven't played online for over 2 months 2) I used to play Urien a lot back when I still played, I really like him as a character. But from an objective pov, he really is stupid online.

Also Hugo does just fine online IMO, he gets free moonsault presses all the time when people try to pressure him because you can't use meaties in lag. Lag also equals free jumps so his mobility really isn't as big an issue as it is offline. I agree Q is much more disadvantaged, he's just as slow without the mash 360s BS factor.

I have friends in Kansai area, Osaka and Kyoto. I can win against most players here and Kyuushu but Kyuushu is getting better and I think maybe, I am intermediate level. Against popular players, it is very difficult for me. Maybe you know them, Izu, Kiyomatsu and Eriho play in famous game centre in Osaka, Monte Carlo. Eriho is a good friend and he qualified for Tougeki preliminary stage.

EVERY round? we played 2½ round and i dont remember turtling in any of these rounds... when we played oro vs oro, I felt like I were the one being most aggresive... and then we played Q vs oro, and dont tell me i won by turtling you there, cause 'turtling Q' = dead.

And yeah i know i do throw alots of charge moves when i play as urien, but i do attempt to set up an aegis reflector after they connect. but it was different this time, cause you played as makoto with SAIII, and as you dont seem to know you cant block when you have activated SAIII... so what i did was just taking advantage of that and charge tackled you.

And its not like those games we played were bad games, i enyoyed them... but its lame to drop.

I didnt drop after a loss. The connection sucked. I was hoping it would get better but it didnt. I said fuck it 1 more after it was 1-1 and then you hit me with like 5 full screen sonic booms with remy and I left. More then half a second delay is way too much for me dude.

Nobody gets connections just like offline but they do get really good connections that have minimal delay. You can have connections with like 0.1 seconds of delay which is really good.

ParryAll those are the kind of connections you will have to put up with until the US release. There is no such thing as a perfect connection going from US to Europe. Once in a blue moon you may find one which is easy to play in, but most of them lack the sharpness which makes everything so much easier offline.

When it is released in the US (which is in a few weeks time right?) I guarantee you will find a good few people to have offline quality connections with. Loads of people will buy the game, its cheap and its SF! The Cable upgrade wouldnt hurt, its a shame the UL speed remains the same. At least you get the DL boost tho, that'll come in handy for the P0rn :party:

It takes practice but it doesn't always land even if you have mastered the timing. Basically if only one hit of the shoulder connects you have a window for the knee grab. You have to be fast though, and input it in the right direction. Unfortunately it can't really be practiced in training mode because of the nature of the juggle, just make it a priority when you're playing casual and it'll come.

I always use roundhouse to make sure I get the distance but some have told me the EX grab gets the best results. Anyway the button to push really depends on how far they are when they're hit by the shoulder.
