lag on CvsS 2? I mean, one minute I hear tales of great battles hearled across the land, and the next I'm hearing how gamers can't stand it to save their life. I'm hearing the same thing about Guilty Gear XX too. So how bad is the lag?

Honestly, when there is lag, it is noticable but it really doesn't hinder the game. That's lag. Now one in a long while you'll get connected to someone that sends the lag "Monster" on your line and just eats up the bandwith and it is terrible. Most of the time for me with CvS2 I have hardly zero lag. If there is lag, I don't notice it now since I've been playing this online since it has come out. you will grow to learn how to play in it but it's not to the point where you can't move without it freezing like in GGXX R#. I haven't been in that since it was released so hopefully it is a bit better now.

Thank Emmit. I really want to get these games just because of their 2-D glory, so in a way I'm kind of bummed about the lag thing. But if I can work with it I will. Thanks again.

Well, the difference for me is that I have never had a really good connection in Guilty Gear. It lags more consistently than CVS2 to the point it almost convinces that that's HOW it should be... of course, I actually played offline with this game a lot in order to familiarize myself with characters like Anji, Johnny, and Venom. So, I could never be convinced that it was OK.
In CVS2, I EXPECT that an excellent connection is right around the corner. No doubt you'll bump into your laggy matches(and many of them... hell, the majority of them will probably be laggy for you), but with me there's a much better chance that I'll find good matches in CVS2.
In Guilty Gear, I don't care if the **** says Excellent, Good, Poor, Piss Poor... it's usually piss poor. Hell, I've played matches that were supposedly "Good" that felt better than the so called "Excellent" ones. Now WHY THE **** IS THAT?!?

the lag in guilty gear is almost always unplayable. there will be times you get nice connections (very rare!) but keep in mind most will suck.
for cvs2 its great, most of the time the connections are very nice. although it does effect things like jd and parry timing, for the most part its playable.
