Cod in basic terms old guard is where you have to hold block while the super art is being done, but in the new one you just have to press block once and you can let go of block and the Comp will block it all for you. (its a new feature they put it but i havent seen anyone use it atm)

OLD Someone activates a SA you hold block and let go you will get hit
NEW Activate super and you block once and let go, you wont get hit cos it will block the rest for you automatically.

Old block = 3S way of blocking
New Block = The Cvs2 way of blocking (IMO)

Peace

Thats incorrect, cause that would disable Red-Parrys. The New and old block gaurd means that you turn off unblockables. You have the option to play the DC version without unblockables or more like the arcarde version with unblockables. Capcom decided they didnt want unblockables in the 3s series after the arcade version was released to home consoles. Since so many complained about it they giving us the option to choose.

Its not special moves that are unblockable. Only Ryu's Denji Hadoken is an unblockable move. What Im refering too is certain attack patterns with some characters that have over laping hit boxes. Urien is one of those characters that come to mind. I personaly more of a fan of the New block method so Im not sure how such a combo is done.

ok... I don't know what people have been trying to tell you but OLD is third strike ver 1.0 where all the unblockables are intact. New is third strike 1.1 (aka dreamcast version) where the unblockables were removed.

Old is version 1.0 with unblockables. (Arcade)

New is version 1.1 without unblockables. (Dreamcast)

Glory is correct.
