View Full Version : Please do not select rematch!

To help avoid the BSOD, myself and a few others are not selecting rematch.

If you play against me, I will not rematch. Nothing personal. It isn't because I don't want more games. It is because I'm avoiding the BSOD.

Yup same thing i'm doing. No point in messing up mine or the other players stats.

If you guys are gonna quit after one match, jus go to optimatch and re-match the person again if you dont want BSOD, but personally i dont care just keep fighting and fighting  BSOD or no BSOD if the player is fun i will stay.

I'm not worried about stats, but sitting at a blank screen for a minute or two while I wait for the xbox to tell me that the connection failed is a waste of time if I can just use the quit - create match - invite combo.

BSOD is a really shitty bug. I hope it will be possible to substitute the game copy, since there's the Hugo stage musig bug too. OMG

When it happens, just press start, log out of xbox live, then log back in. You don't have to wait.

When you press start, log out and log back in, it still counts as a loss for both people.

I just don't want to deal with the drama of praying to the xbox live gods that I don't get BSODed after I select rematch. BSOD only comes up after you select rematch. Better to just not select rematch and never get the BSOD.

Hmmm

WHat does it do to your stats? counts as a loss for both people? oh dear, that's pretty piss poor. While I give massive respect for getting live working properly (first time I played online, the connection was good, the game was basically like offline, and I was like "OH ALL MY SHIT I AM SURELY DREAMING"), they made an absolute total, embarrasing shambles of the menu and lobby system. Utter cank.

Anyway, back on topic :) If it counts as a loss to both of you then that's bad. Forget this 'Rank Whore' name calling bullshit, it's not a good thing that it registers a loss to you both, simply because it's wrong. It wouldn't be so bad if the BSOD didn't happen so often, in my opinion it's a bloody travesty, and I can only imagine it didn't show up in testing, because console games are supposed to be solid, that's the point of it really. But while the ranking thing isn't going to make me lose any sleep (I can't help playing Alex against Ken all the time, I get whooped, but I just enjoy the matchup :), it's a bit silly to critisise others who take it more seriously. After all, it's a feature of the game, we're supposed to enjoy it, but it's broken.

It's not like the people who quit out if they're loosing - now they're rank whores :)

oh, btw - any truth in this 'wait 5 seconds before rematch' theory?

Something I have noticed which Im sure most of you have to is that the further away your opponents location is the more often the BSOD will show. I play some good 25+ sets with some UK guys I have added to my friendslist and I hardly ever get the BSOD with them. On the other hand, I played SNK Forever who is Dutch, and it will show every 4-5 games. US peeps, haha we may as well quit and re-invite because it happens pretty much after every game. So I am thinking it is most definitely to do with the strength of the connection, which half relies on distance.

Has anybody mailed Capcom to inform them of this bug yet? I think some of us should to see their response. Does anybody have an E-mail for Capcom? It may be better if a UK or EU player sends a mail, dont know what kind of response Capcom of US would give!

I don't really give a damn about my rank. I'd just rather quit and reinvite so that I don't have to wait on the black screen to start another round. It is faster to do it this way, instead of gambling on the BSOD even if you don't get BSOD.
