Is anyone else gettign cut off when you play in 4:3 aspect ratio on a widescreen in 480P?

No matter what I set my xbox to (wide, or normal) it cuts off in 4:3 aspect ratio...

I have to use full screen in order to see everythign but that over stretches it =\

If you play in 4:3 ratio, you will always have the black bars on the side.
I don't think these 2D games are designed for widescreen, thats why when you use "full screen or "cinama" you see everything scretched out! Just play it widescreen and you get use to it after a while.

Um...yeah, that's not what I meant though.

I am aware of 4:3 and black bars and all that other junk.

My problem is that the black bars cover the edges of my street fighter screen.

For instance when playing Hyper SF, the portraits of the players in the upper corners lose about 1/4 of their face...

I can adjust the size of the X axis (adjust it down to 93%) and then I am able to see it all in 4:3 mode...It seems to be an issue of overscan...

I was hoping that this was normal or that someone knew a way to fix it without making the picture smaller I guess...

When I was talking about widescreen, I just mean that if it was in widescreen mode there was no cutoff at the edges of the TV...

Unfortunately, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is yet another game (and also a 2D fighting game, ironically) that is affected by the 480P glitch (which I have discussed in great detail on SRK and other forums). The other game affected by this glitch is Guilty Gear X2: #Reload (and there is no fix for this game except to turn off 480P!). There must be some issue when porting the game from PS2 that causes it . . .

Fortunately, there is a fix for Anniversary Collection. With 480P enabled, simply go to the "Screen Adjust" option (3rd Strike has it, not sure if AE has it though). You have to adjust the "X Range" to the lowest setting (88%) and keep the "Y Range" at 100%. Afterwards, your screen might be off-center--if this is the case, simply adjust the "X Position" until it is centered; I had to change mine to 5.

Voila, now you can play with 480P enabled, and the original aspect ratio is preserved. If only #R had an option like this =/

Thanks fubar, I had already done that to get it working but was hoping there was a different fix that did not require it.

What exactly is the 480P glitch and could you point me to another thread about it?
