View Full Version : Has Capcom said anything about the BSOD issue?

Sorry to make another thread about this, but I'm planning on getting an Xbox with SFAC and Live for Xmas, and I'd like to know if this issue has been at least responded to yet :/. One thing that worries me is that if nobody's contacted Capcom about the issue, they might not even know about it yet. I know that seems ridiculous, but bear in mind that a) it's ridiculous that they even let the problem get through beta testing and b) this is Capcom . So have they said they're going to fix it or whatever? Has anyone contacted Capcom about it and received a response? Thanks.

Judging from my experience on the Black screen of death last year's CvS 2 fiasco; probably a couple of weeks till a patch is made.

not sure if this is the right place but, i have not seen the hugo music problem whatsoever, unless its random. I would think that they will patch the game though, eventually.

It is possible that Capcom don’t know I have worked in a few places where it has taken a while for this info to filter through to the Company, heck there was on issue we had that took 18 months to resolve due to fact that all the tech guys were on a long term projects.

thats because the bug only comes when people are using the ORIGINAL sound tracks.
With arranged this problem doesnt accure.

when you hit rematch all you hear is the music and the screen is black. Therefore someone drops to get back to the log in screen and both get counted for as a loss.

Not good news atm, there's been no patch made as of yet and there is no solution presently, I'm a visitor of the Capcom-Europe boards so that's how I know:
Street Fighter X-Box Live (http://forum.capcom-europe.com/viewtopic.php?t=4578)
Sounds like a pretty irritating bug, I haven't got my copy yet but presumably you have to go back to the title screen everytime you want a rematch and get no continuous scores in Live right?

Nah just select quit match and rejoin. It's very easy.

No big deal then so long as you don't select "rematch", its nothing major to me anyway but does it keep results of all of the match results until you turn the console off? You know, there's usually a "Win" "Lose" Draw" results screen in these games.

I've come to realize the BSOD only accurs on bad connections...
If you have a super solid lag free connection, you can rematch with them all day long and not get black screened...but if you have like 1% lag I mean just a tiny bit you may get away with a few rematches but then its black screen death

Sorry but thats incorrect... It just happens against some people randomly.

There is no "Draw" result on this game. Stop making stuff up.

It was an assumption, not making stuff up. I did say I don't have it yet, read my posts

It's not a draw but you both have one extra game added to your rankings. You get see how many games someone has played plus how many wins. So if I have 100 games and 50 wins that doesn't mean I have lost 50 games, 30 of those could have been the BSOD.
Which overall is annoying.

well looks like they are starting to look into it, this is the email i got:
Hello Scott,
Thank you for your email. We are aware of the black screen problem you
describe, although we have not actually had many reports of it. We are
looking into the issue but I'm afraid there is no patch at present.
We hope this problem does not stop you from enjoying SF online.
Best regards,
Capcom

well this is what I got:
Hello
Thank you for your email. If you have the Japanese version of the game then I do not think there is much that we can do to help you, as you have contacted Capcom Europe. If you actually have the European version of the game, we would be happy to swap your game for a new version which does not have the Hugo stage music bug, once we get our stock of the new versions. Please contact us again if you do have the European version and you would like us to do this.
Best regards,
Capcom

I got the same reply today as well. I suppose the more people that complain might make them do something.

I've mailed them too, but didn't mention that I'm playing the JP version on my PAL box. If they fix the problem somehow, I'll get a real PAL copy.

Where are you guys sending your emails?
I sent mine to the Megamail address, got nothing back.
Glory: Yes, it is random. But if you have the better the connection the less likely it will occur.
If you have lag and you rematch forget about it, its BSOD.
