navid was more or less = with alvin

me and mark were somewhat even, but i did use a better character than he does and i was even with him before i used chun li's hit confirm super art 2. which means i should be at a great advantage now, cuz when i got supers before, i didn't use them (back when he was here)

so navid is better than mark, i am pretty sure of this, maybe not now, but definitely when you were here mahir. his non chun li characters were pretty garbage, i would beat them like 4-0 or something like that but his chun was definitely great, he thinks he's good with sean, but he was just a scrub killer, nothing too awesome.

as for cvs2... i went 1-3 vs him when the fierce punch was broken so i used P groove... it was... really hard lol, you'd be surprised at how often someone uses the fierce punch.

navid, if you're gonna take the bet with mahir, pick his two characters, he'll just beat you with P/K or something, but he can still sho sho sho you, so that's pretty awful

Even if you have good execution, they still would get handled by the mindgames. So the only difference is that the good players learnt to tolerated lose and frustration because they knew the game wasn't easy, they enjoyed the challenge and their success at the game. I agree. I have been going through this for the last few months.

A long time ago when I used to play chess someone told me the best people to play are people who are better than you - thats the best way to learn.

There has been days where I will pump in $20 in quarters in 2hrs playing Mig over and over and over - only to win about 4 matches. I can afford to lose the money and I understand that frustration = learning. Though sometimes I'm ready to put my fist through the screen. Luckily Mig is humble and just sits quietly after he beats me while I boil inside. This makes it much easier for me to digest the frustration.

If I wasn't progressing I would quit.

I enjoy playing with Mig, Chris F, & Alvin the most because they are humble, classy, and always show respect for their opponents.

sal: lol well i'm not really INTIMIDATED, but i think he's the worst matchup for me on this forum... most potential to knock me out while weaving in and out of my strikes/takedowns. like he's at the height were my reach isn't TOO overwhelming etc. i am still very confident if i can get him to the ground, i'll be awesome jawesome though. but where marion got clean shots on me and couldn't knock me out, i think this guy could.

mi-ken: dood man, you show some good and awesome attitudes towards becoming better. i think you should also play some other players too, so you can get a more overall rounded form of training. the players you play etc may fall under patterns and not punish you in certain ways. the reason why BC is actually pretty good at third strike is cuz we play each other helllllllla. like when that florida guy came up here to play he's like "wtf you guys play wierd" cuz we DO, alllllll of our players play differently and he's like "wow, i don't believe" or something. my word of advice though when playing guys and losing, take like a few minutes in between rounds to see what you have done wrong and why the opponent is winning. i did that against miguel and found that the bulk of the damage he does is when he jumps in and lands beside me and i am either blocking or have gotten hit by his jumping fierce. it sets up too many mixups as in low attack, overhead attack, delayed low attack, throw, and that backwards punch move that counters throws. after realizing that is his main offensive strategy, i tried to react to his mixups but that really wasn't doing much DAMAGE on my part. so i tried to counter zone him, by refusing him access to that area of high potential damage and that's when i start to win. a simple 20 seconds will help you realize where you are getting fuck up at and you can try to better defend yourself. chris F has another example, he LOVES to medium into super any whiffed attack that he can react to. so i stopped doing whiffing mediums and also faked with jabs, he became LESS formidable afterwards. with a learning drive as good as yours, i think you should be tops here in bc in no time flat. unless you're retarded but you don't seem it.

i did that against miguel and found that the bulk of the damage he does is when he jumps in and lands beside me and i am either blocking or have gotten hit by his jumping fierce. it sets up too many mixups as in low attack, overhead attack, delayed low attack, throw, and that backwards punch move that counters throws. after realizing that is his main offensive strategy, i tried to react to his mixups but that really wasn't doing much DAMAGE on my part. so i tried to counter zone him, by refusing him access to that area of high potential damage and that's when i start to win.

Also I do realize where I am being exploited etc and I can mentally devise a way around it but when it comes time for battle I don't always do what I just told myself to do. when he jumps in with ken, do a standing jab punch repeatedly

and as far as his dudley jump ins, it's best to just block it on a standing stance and go from there. dudley's jump ins are too tricky to attempt to parry and can result to a huge amount of damaging comboes if failed to parry.

mi-ken: lol yeah man, when you're trying not do something, it sucks when you still accidentally do it. but anyway, think about it as playing a game of chance. 50% of the time, miguel will do a high hit and 50% he'll do a low hit... so if you parry accordingly... you'll still ONLY get the max damage you can do with that super bar you have... and if you're using ken.... it's not much damage at all... while miguel on the other hand, if he's using the corkscrew super, he'll be doing somewhere around the damage you're doing... but he doesn't use that one, he uses the uppercut... so EACH EXCHANGE he'll be doing more damage than you and your super. which is why trying to parry him is a bad idea, you'll ALWAYS be at the shittier end of the stick... and now let's think about it another way... he can also THROW you.... he can ALWAYS throw your parry or non uppercut attack... you can't throw his highs or lows cuz the hitboxes are already on screen. so now you gotta watch out and really only have a 33% chance of pulling off that parry into super... cuz he can go high, low, OR THROW. IMO, the best thing to do when you're waking up in the corner... is to just block... WOW WAIT, he's got ANOTHER TRICK cuz it's dudley... he can do the back punchy thingy that avoids throws... so if you're trying to predict what he's trying to do... you've got a 25% chance of doing ANYTHING. and even if you see him doing that punch thingy and decide to parry it. 50% of the time, he'll super cancel it into a super if you parry it... which TOTALLY fucks up your chances of parry into super. my advice.... is if you're gonna do something on wakeup... do it when you have a super that does MASSSSSSSSIVE damage. or if you TOTALLY feel you're psychic and just wanna fuck around. the guy who parries the MOST on wakeup is keni. but he's using chun or oro during that time, where a good parry can do 40% to 70% damage so that's a good guessing game. but i've also sweeped him 6 times in a row so who knows hahaha.

that IS why it's a mixup... and while people love mixups, i for one HATE THEM cuz it's just a guessing game. there's a lil skilll involved in reading your opponent, but can do really do that effective of a job when you've got 1.5 seconds after falling down? but you can almost ALWAYS react to their high/low throw games so just work from there.



and if you want help countering him when he jumps in.... hahaha we're trying to give you all these adviceful thingies and shit but in REALITY. watch a video of me vs miguel or sal vs miguel. we almost NEVER do anything against his jump ins except the standard forward parry into throw. it's just SOOOOOOOOOOO fucking hard to react to dudley's low jumps. however, in the times i am effectively able to counter it... i either do a crouching roundhouse (excellent priority AAA) but he parries it about 50% of the time... or i do a jab into crouching roundhouse.... which he's parried i think once in all the games we've ever played. which is what i think you should do with ken. cuz if you REALLY THINK he's gonna be trying to parry you... you can do a jab, and then dash either behind him or dash backwards... and work from there. or you can do a jab, into uppercut... and the easy way to make sure your uppercut hits is to do many jabs and then alternate the timing for your uppercut. be careful though, if he gets hit by a jab.. it does like 1 pixel of damage and you're getting the shittier end of the stick. now, the easy counter to that is for him to just do the fierce punch cuz it will beat your jab... but NOW that he's doing THAT, you can uppercut at your leisure, or parry his jumping fierce... or just jump up with him and hit him on the way up. the odds are stacked against the character who JUMPS. what you're doing is jump baiting him into playing just a simple ground game with you, in which case, if you're using ken or chun, you have a very superior advantage.

problem is though... miguel is REALLY good at jumping. so unless you predict him jumping and react to it fast enough, all i've written is just really theory hahahaha
