I was in Godweapon (an EC server) and was lagging hardcore, and I was playing my Ken against some scrub Alex. Anyways we played like 10 matches and won every one, and finally got the hang of the lag. In our last match I did strong fierce hadou super... he typed 'wtf?' and dropped. LOL what a scrub! He probably thought I was hacking or something.

you gotta think about. everytime we want poker, mike has to stay the night or we have to drive him home. and when people drop out, if youre also gonna drop out or modify cause they did, let people know. obviously cause gian couldnt make it tariq made other plans until navid was off.

All I know is that I want to have 3s... id like to see a single elimination single match format for one of the tournies - thena regular double elimination best of 3... I would also like a lower tiered skill capped tourny like I discussed before.

I like 3S more than poker if there is good competition. I like Poker more than 3S when there is easy competition (hehe).

Anyway, i dropped by Moveiland yesterday and there was this 30ish Chinese guy playing HyperFighting and he was really really good with Ryu. He was playing the CPU, but I could tell he really knew the game well and doing CPS1 chains etc. He was playing all the way to the final stage just owning as he practiced all these combos.

So I challenged him with Guile. He beat me the first round and I could tell he was measuring my skill. He then owned me on the second round doing dizzy combos... but he gave me 2nd round with a mercy round. I humbly nodded my head for the mercy round and I tried to do Guile's 3 hit standing blade kick combo and missed. I swear I saw him smirk at me for missing that combo. Oh well, it did look stupid.

3rd round came and I played very differently. I poked poked poked and poked. I did not jump into his super late shoryukens, nor did I try any combos. I just poked and poked his life away. He then did this stupid trick of crossing me up over and over where if I try to counter with an anti-air or blade kick, it would just end in me getting comboed or getting kicked. However, maybe he didn't think I could air grab the cross up, which made him lose the game. He then slammed the controls, stormed out towards the door, halted at the exit in anger, pushed the door open and continued storming out on his way.

That my friends made me grin cos I knew exactly how he felt. LOL at the smug old school player for giving mercy rounds only to lose the third round.

anyways, I used to be the best engineer on hte WON servers, before they implemented the teleporter, in TFC.

I havn't had the chance to play TF2 yet, but it seems like it pales in comparison quite considerably in terms of team play and clan games.

It seems like it's more heavily reliant on the HWG + Medic combo, than TFC was relient on Sollies and Medic Concers.

I dunno, I think I'd still prefer TFC over TF2 any day.

dont get a gtx 8800 just get a gts 8800. youll save yourself like 200 dollars and be able to run the game at max everything. gtx is like a showoffs card. it doesnt really translate into like 20 more fps or anything. it might translate into 5 fps.
but the gts will already run it in dx10 and at 60 fps

What exact criteria are you comparing CS up against? Just curious because I never have played Crysis.

I think CS (old version) was fun, but it's way past it's prime for me now. It's just old and not fun anymore. I try forcing myself to play it, but I end up getting bored of playing the game fast. Even Operation Flashpoint, which is hella dated, is wayyy more fun, but maybe it's not a fair comparison for me to make. Most of the FPS I've been playing nowadays are ones that strive for realism. I guess I haven't much access to any new, good, "arcade shooters".

dont get a gtx 8800 just get a gts 8800. youll save yourself like 200 dollars and be able to run the game at max everything. gtx is like a showoffs card. it doesnt really translate into like 20 more fps or anything. it might translate into 5 fps.
but the gts will already run it in dx10 and at 60 fps

8800 gts will NOT get crysis to run anywhere near 60fps in dx10 on max settings even in 1280X1024 (even if you have a more than adequate CPU).

Well, I think people that run the club are a bunch of nice fellows, and it's just the club's interest that conflicted with the interest of mine, when it came to running the tournament, and everyone here going to it. Maybe that's why Mike dropped out, because if I knew about the price discrimination for entry fees for club and non-club members, I wouldn't have said no in the first place. That's about the worst of it.

And anyway, I don't think the tournament will happen now, since everyone who would of joined the tournament would of be us. No one plays 3s there. That's why the club never made the game a core game for the club, until Mike got permission to run a 3s tourney. 3s, a core game in their club even though CvS2 and even broke-ass HNK got more play in that club than 3s....And if you look at their site, 3s isn't listed as a game in their tournament anymore.

@ Joe: I think that place has the worst 3s cabinet in the GVRD. The buttons are broken and are slanted at such a weird angle, which really hurts your hands after a few games. And it would be awkward to versus someone on, since the cabinet is too small. Can't believe CHQ has a better 3s cabinet.

@ Dan: We can still run a tournament of our own. We could just do what Ryan/Jess suggested and just rent out a hall and split the costs of that. Run the games we want, chip in and get hella refreshments. It would be tight...

I played two tournyments of play money and first time only got 101 out of 800.

second time right now i just finished 56th. i had 6500 chips which is pretty good i was in the top 40 i think in money. but i went in a hand for a modest 100 bucks i had J Q. Flop was 5 10 J so I go all in. everyone but one guy folds. A guy calls me who has like 9000 chips. He fucking has 6 8 OS and runner runners me 6 and 8 to hit two pair. he had nothing and was basically drawing dead.



i think i need to go visit another country, pay to kill a few people hostel style, and come back here. i need to catch up on 22 years of not being a douchebag, i think thats the only way i can accumulate enough sin so i can be on the same level as everyone else, and thus have the sin aura to function in poker and society.
