Vid 'announcements' get hidden in the Tournament Results thread, so... I figured a new dedicated thread would at least make it easier for people to track what's new on my site.

Do NOT use FlashGet. FlashGet is broken. It will randomly WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE download thousands of copies of the same file, completely DESTROYING the web server you are trying to use it with. If you use FlashGet, I will ban you.

Subscribe to this thread to get my update announcements, or just check the page directly for updates. This thread will generally get new announcements first, since I like SRK peeps more than completely random peeps. :smile:

You are welcome to post up footage or links to footage of your tourneys/play as long as its decent stuff. If it's a combo video, don't post it if it's interlaced.


I will host fighting game footage for other people... just ask - better than MegaUpload or something like that. You can hit me up on AIM ('zachdms') or MSN ('zachdms@hotmail.com') or PM me here.

To get me footage, the best options for me and the site are:
* regardless of all else, ZIP or RAR it into one package
* Option A: put it upon rapidshare / yousendit / megaupload and send me the URL preferred
* Option B: send it to me AIM
You could also send it to me via MSN/Windows Live Messenger, but that sucks at last check since it doesn't support resume (does it do that now?).
You could also ask me to set you up a temporary account on my server, but that's a minor pain in the ass that I'd generally like to avoid. If we do that, you can only use FileZilla (SFTP) to get to the site, no other upload manager will be able to connect.
I don't like being on AIM, so just ping me on this thread to get on AIM and I will.

If you mean the new RiCo tourney vids, only 2 were accidentally encoded at 99kbps due to human error; the Genghis vs. Joe and Ruin vs. Genghis #1. Everything else is normally watchable, with some vids having minor black bars because again, due to human error, we forgot to set the framerate to 1/60 for those vids.

Next update will probably be low tier Cali footage once they decide what matches they want to use (they may use CV.com instead). I'm also getting 2-4 tapes next week from a tournament from last year that's near and dear to all of our hearts, and I'll encode those promptly. Other than that, next footage should be footage from the upcoming LanWerx tourney. For anything else: people just need to get it to me. :smile:

I'll probably take down the Tricks of the Trade videos next, since that'll clear up about 1GB of space, and I think everybody has all of them by now.

Actually, Ruby's fireball super is faster. On its initial startup it is faster than the headcrush, so there are things that she can react to from a full screen away that juggs can't.

Update: Vids arrived safely (thanks Van). I'm currently encoding tape 1 of 4. I'll probably be taking down the remainder of the Tricks of the Trade videos and the SouthWest Regionals to free up space for the new vids. These vids are VHS->computer, so I'm not sure how quality will be nor how long it will take, but we'll get this done. :smile:

Overall: I'm done with 2 of the 3 tapes from this past Saturday's tourmanent. Once I get done encoding the last tape, I'll update the site with 'em. There's some great 'quality' matches (including a number of great comebacks) as well as a number of low tier casual matches.

I think the file is not complete, it stops before the end (don't remember the exaxct time but it was between 15 and 20 minutes). Filesize seems to be a little bit to small for vid which is 21:25 long and encoded with 576 kbit/s too. It's also impossible to jump to a specific time in this vid, like always when you have an incomplete wmv-file. I used Windows Media Player10 and Media Player Classic, I also tried to download the file a second time. Sorry for net being very precise in my previous post.

Just letting you know down + rh as a combo finisher leaves em much closer to you after flying screen vs. hp iirc but it requires you to be slightly above them so it's kinda hard to set it up so where you land with alot of frame advantage =/

Captain America: I'm just an old MvC1 Cap player - abuse his fierce, double-jump, and roll where possible. But there's not a lot of situations where you get to use the roll. I'm halfway through capturing those tapes right now, but encoding will be a massive project that I won't finish for some time. But since no TS5 footage whatsoever is going to be shared until the DVD is out & bein' bought, no worries there. As far as a permanent ban, the "welcome to the hub" message covers it - you'll get instantly banned for sharing warez, cracks, ISOs, porn, or ROMs. For sharing commercial products (DVDs, music), you'll get one warning and then get banned if the stuff isn't removed.

In most EC vids Cable dies almost immediately after touchin the screen. I'm from the south so it's not a matter of biased, just goin off what i've observed.

Preppy, quick tips that may help you since you have your vids up:

Stop doing regular jump hp grenade with Cable against grounded opponents and stop doing pushblocks at regular jump for no reason. You're only guardbreaking yourself :)

What vid are you talking about with what point? I normally only do normal backjump HP grenade with Tron out there, since it's pretty hard for anyone other than another Cable to punish that. Or my Megaman assist, since his buster assist cuts through most anything. Basically if you see me doing that, I'm swearing because you and I both know my assist didn't come out. :smile:

And what pushblock? I don't think I've pushblocked in NJ mode since XvSF, where I first learned against Gambit's Royal Flush not to do push-block in the air... if I did do that anywhere in the past five years, that's random.

Texas footage: I'll update this thread when I know more. I haven't talked to Lay yet. I think sales are going well (?), so I'll probably be putting up the last load of the footage in a couple weeks.

ECC was a blast. Thanks to Phi for running it and a big shout out to Jason X and Alex for helping me film things.

I captured about 20 tapes (20 hours) of Marvel footage (Team Tourney, some money matches, a bunch of pools). I caught two more tapes of the final 16 footage (the black cab) but those tapes were given to Phi directly for the DVD. Don't share final 16 footage. Between Jason X (who was capturing the white cab final 16 footage) and myself (plus the other two guys filming Marvel), I think we caught most all the good matches. I think Jason X caught the last two pool matches of insanelee (bronson) vs Sanford where Sanford got lucky as hell to win 2-1 over Bronson. Lucky son of a gun. I tried capturing most of the matches of Bryheem and Julian Robinson, but there was a lot going on, and I *know* that somebody stepped on and pulled my power cord in the middle of a match, which killed my recording of some great Julian Robinson match. Bryheem beat people in pools with Cable/Sent/anybody, where anybody was Venom or Shuma Gorath sometimes. Nice. I also definitely got the pool match-up (Loser's Finals of that pool) between Eddie Lee and KaiSing, which was great to watch.

So Jason should be sending me his footage when he gets done encoding it, another guy (forget the name right now) will be sending me his tapes (he borrowed/bought some tapes from me to tape stuff, and I'll be paying him back), and then we'll have my stuff too. Expect to see footage start popping up in 2-4 weeks, I guess. :smile:

We had the first official battle of the non-Isaac cameramen between Commy and myself in pools - Commy beat me 2-0 (Sent/Storm/CapCom vs Magneto/Cable/Tron). I tried being a little fancier and went for the snapback instead of Lunch Rush, and that was a baaaad idea. GG, sir! :smile:

I pulled the Oregon and Philly footage to clear up some space on my server for some private uploads. Sorry about the broken links for now.

I think the only match I *know* I got of mine was me vs Commy (I go down 2-0, helped mightily by my miscalculation of Tron's snapback range - it's shorter than her FP(?!?) (a later 'highlight' was when I snapped a different guy back and had the guy hit out of the snapback BY TRON'S SPINNING SNAPBACK - snapback "FP" hits, they go flying... into the still-spinning mech and I knock them out of the snapback. Fucking Tron. :lol: ). I'm pretty sure I didn't get me vs Lincoln TT (I think Lincoln asked about that, since I think it was a MegaMan OCV), and I don't think anybody caught me vs Kai casual, which was a pretty good back and forth match where he eats a lot of busters and I eat even more bird bombs.

B: I'm encoding the last of the 20 ECC tapes now: tapes are as follows:
* Thursday: 3 tapes Pre-ECC tourney
* Fri: 2 tapes MM matches, 2 tapes TT, 2 tapes uncertain (probably 1 mm, 1 tt)
* Sat: 1 tape TT finals + beginning of quals ("invitiational"), 3 tapes quals, 2 tapes Elections
* Sunday: 4 tapes pools
Plus 15 more minutes on the the tape I'm about to record of I think Quals.

Note that the initial 14 tapes were all recorded at 500kbps, but I shifted to 1mbps for the last 6 tapes because I was reviewing old footage and was happier with the quality (obviously) at 1mbps. I may rerecord the first 14 tapes if I'm really unhappy, but ... as it is, there will likely just be a quality difference between the two sets of footage. =\
Anyways, it's about 4.9GB of footage all told to be cut up. This will take a bit. So enjoy yesterday's upload of more Texas Showdown footage for a while. Or get on the hub and enjoy Vin's footage of the Elections. :smile:
