Somebody should buy that machine though. I would if I had the money. Fix that button and its a perfectly good cabinet. Throw it into an arcade that matters. Should get Simon to buy it and throw it in Mohawk so Waterloo can keep their CvS2...
Now I feel kinda sad for CvS2 players at Waterloo.

Even though that arcade machine at EG had a fucked up roundhouse button, and the two sticks were kinda different, it was still a perfectly functional machine.
I also wouldn't mind chipping in some dough if people are willing to go through with it.
It's just not right to let it go to waste.

Maybe then, we could sell it to Estarburst, have them fix the buttons and Waterloo won't be CvS2-less.

I was thinking, you should come to justin's house after work on Friday. You need the training like I do. And I'm sure that you'd rather save some of that "hard" earned money. Play games all night Friday. Head to Orbit to play games all day/night saturday. Then head to Korean BBQ for all you can eat. (You're fat, so all you can eat is right up your alley.) -Tekken 5 regionals were crazy...I was happy to win a few rounds but still got owned

TEKKEN 5 stuff:
-gay rules for Tekken 5 as you had to use a card

-namco reps no-show so 2 guys run it...not knowing if it's an official namco regional tournmant

-asian guy helping running it was a *** "you can't play in cvs2 and tekken 5 tournaments at the same time...pick one"

-same guy yelled at me and steve for cheering on a buddy of his and telling us to be quiet

-while signing up noticing that they had a printout "HOW TO RUN TOURNAMENTS" :lame:

-cvs2 I played like crap...and for some reason after playing T5 I thought I could sidestep with Yuri :confused:

-sorry to justin for losing the bet he placed on me vs. jiggabry

hey guys, had fun yesterday.

Cliff notes of the night:
-playing roger for my first match again. Roger's Rugal rushdown was too much for me.
-I ended up playing against rey for my 2nd match. made it to his rock and i think it was a close game. GGs.
-Hamilton ended up eliminating each other in the loser's bracket. Darko made it out alive with his K-groove business team.

-On the way to the tourney, we somehow ended up in Pickering.
-Looking for a parking space and found a car parked at an 60 degree angle on a snow bank. Should've went back around the 2nd time for me to take the picture and slap it over. :sad:
-7 DVDs/VCDs for 30 bucks.
-went to the pron shop and saw strange things in there, like the "Wireless nipples" and "Remote control Egg". :clap:
-a white man writing in chinese. :wow:
-All you can eat @ Korean BBQ Resturant. I dont think i saw a single korean person in that place.
-Listening to Rey and Vanny's Wrestling Trivia on the way back home. How can you guys remember all those facts?

Orbit notes:

- First round I played JS Master. Ouch, that guy is too good. I just wish that I put up more of a challenge in that match. Sent to losers (That was obvious)
- Second round I played X-Sapphire. Played a pretty solid match. Ended up winning with the Curt's coaching.
- Third Round played Gordon (I don't know his SRK name). It was a tough match. And Gordon is a very solid player. Barely got to his R2. Ended up eliminated.

Tourney highlights:

- Seeing Darko do really well. He's clearly the future of Hamilton Street Fighter.
- Watching Tekken 5 Grand Finals. Totally insane shit.
- Getting one of those waffle honey comb things for breakfast. God Damn that shit was good.
- Watching John and Rey go into the porn store and then seeing a group of fob girls stare and giggle as they walked in.
- Darko's comment about the guy drinking turpintine in grade 3 and then waking up and it was grade 4 was too good.
- Getting lost going to Pacific with Darko driving. Nuff Said!!!

If you do that, you're gonna have to play the match a lot smarter. You're honestly best off going with 1/1/2 method. Why don't you just stick with Vice as your first character. She's actually one of your more solid characters.

Next time we meet up to play, we'll work out some things. It will be all good.

i think the problem is that you fall into the "i'm red and angry now, so the only think i can do is try to land my super" syndrome. I noticed that with vice, as soon as you were red, you kept trying to get the tick into super throw, and that's about the only thing you did. Mohawk isn't getting CVS2. I've come to face the facts and so should you guys. Why would he rip the game out of Waterloo to bring it to Mohawk? Doesn't make sense, there is probably a bigger player pool there. And the arcade is probably open longer hours, which in turn means more money for the company.

Mohawk is like the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the Campus Coves. I think that even Mac gets more respect. So please stop wasting your time trying to get the game to Mohawk. Even if it's there, no one is gonna play it anyways.

To anyone that has a strong grasp of how to get to Mohawk, I need directions. I know how to essentially reach McMaster and from what I understand I just take that route except I don't get off at main, I keep going along the highway so if someone can set me up with directions from that point I'm good to go.

1) get to the lincoln Alexandre parkway via 403 West you can only go one way there since the express way ends at ancaster
2) exit at upper james st. and turn left.
3) go straight on upper james st until you hit MOHAWK ROAD WEST and make a left.
4) go straight till you hit WEST 5TH RD. and turn right
5) go straight and MOHAWK COLLEGE will be on your left.
6) the parking lot is at the back of the college (drive to the end of the road) the college entrance is directly facing out to the parking lot. Call me on my cell 905-818-3164 if you can't get into the college (they like to lock the doors now).

On the 403, dont get off on Main st. Keep going up the hill and at the top of it, exit on Licolin M Alexander Pky(The Linc).

Once you're on The Linc, take Garth St. Exit and turn Left(north).
Stay on this street and then turn right on Fennell Ave. You'll see a Private school to your right when you turn.
Keep driving on Fennell Ave. till you see Mohawk College and then turn right at the lights.

If this is confusing, use Mapquest.

Thanks to everyone that showed up last night.

I learned a few things last night even though i pretty much blanked out after the MArvel 2 and third strike tournaments were finished. (i can't believe i fucking blanked out in my first CVS2 match.) Thanks to Justin for finishing CVS2 for me while i dissappeared to take an unannounced departure from the CVS2 tourney. I was pretty beat afte rrunning MArvel 2 and Third strike, so i think Next time i'm gonna be getting a someone to help me run things. Also i'll be replacing the Tekken 4 stick with a new Tekken 5 HRAP, so that stick shouldn't be a problem anymore come March LAN Party. I know the tenative dates for the next LAN party but it's not in solid yet. It should either be the 18th of March or the 24th. The decision hasn't been made yet. once again thanks to everyone for showing up, and thanks to John for getting me those VHS tapes, i'm gonna take a look at some of the footage tomorrow and post up the best matches.

I didn't get a chance to speak on this earlier but I thought it best to do so now. For all of Hamilton's talk about 3rd Strike, I found the skill level to be far below what I thought it'd be. I don't play 3rd Strike in the slightest. I mean I haven't touched the game literally in four months. Somehow I come 4th in this tournament. Now first I beat John, which is no big thing because he doesn't play the game either. Then I lose to Teddy (no surprise) and then I beat Vince 2 - 0.

Now here's the thing that really bugs me. If all you guys are as good at 3S and play it as much as you say you do, why in the world is my shitty Akuma beating Vince and pushing Ike to the brink of death in more than one occasion? I mean seriously, what are you guys doing in all of these casual matches? Is anyone learning anything at all?

Lol, Curt you're an asshole! Stirring shit like that. The way that I see it, just let them talk their talk. Because playing SF in tourney matches is really about walking the walk. If Hamilton would dedicate as much time to training as they did to talking shit to each other. We might actually get some respect as a unit.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not being high and mighty here. But I do know where I stand with my skill level. And that's somewhere between shit and absolute garbage. But I know for a fact that I'm willing to take any advice that someone is giving me to improve my game and try to use it. Best advice I can give you: GET IN A CAR AND GET AWAY FROM MOHAWK! I would honestly suggest the 3S players NEVER play at Mohawk and only played at other arcades because it's obvious you're learning NOTHING from each other. No player has ever gotten better playing the same people in the same arcade every single day. If you want to improve (and I mean really improve) you have to play other people. If you are all serious about playing 3S and you know McMaster is better, make the 20 minutes or 1/2 hour drive to their campus and throw down with their 3S players ON A REGULAR BASIS. It's not like it's a big excursion like when you get step out to York U or ORBIT, these guys are just a quick car ride away.

I was down at Mohawk a couple of times last week to check out MvC2, and their 3S skills are worst than what I have seen months past.
I mean, they got progressively worst as time go by.
It's frightening.

Dave, if you wanted folks to teach you, you should've ask.
Well, here's some advices:
Ditch Ken's SA1 or SA2 or whatever the fuck you use (I'm suprised no one said anything aboot this earlier, is Rey THAT sick? Hehe).
Learn all his links, cancels, hit confirmations that combos into his SA3 (THE super to use for Ken players).
Dash frequently (shotos have very good dashes), use his air-ex-hurricane move thingie for air to air battles, or to escape from danger, etc...

Here are a few of his many moves that can easily combo into his SA3:
short, short, short > super (hit-confirmable, quick, and is great to use after a dash), c.mp > super (hit-confirmable, nice priority, you are not a Ken player if you don't use this move), his target (mp, hp) > super (add a hadoken in there, if you wish, cancel that hadoken into super and you have the easiest hit confirmation in the entire motherfucking game) and c.mk > super (very difficult to hit-confirm off of, but hits low and has nice range, the combo of choice for scrub Kens).

There are still many more he can do, like command overhead/universal overhead into super and other mixups and stuff.
Oh yeah, his standing forward is a very deceptive move, it whiffs on most crouching characters, but it's fast and moves you forward so it's a great move to use for rushing down and continuing pressure on your opponents.
For example: short, short on an opponent's wakeup, if that doesn't hit (don't cancel into super, obviously), standing forward that shit and continue pressure...very nice.
Daigo "the Ken master" often uses the standing forward to close in on his opponents, so remember that shit.

Ike, I have MvC2 now (PS2, hey, it's better than nothing...), with all the characters uncocked, uh...I mean, unlocked, so whenever you're free and want to play the game, or want to simply pass some time, gimme a call.

Your Ken tips are pretty much spot on. Just forgot to add that Ken's jumping mk is the best crossup possibly in any SF game.

Though IMO, the scrub combo of choice is actually the mp, hp, hadoken, super. That combo makes me sick really and is easy as shit. My one year old niece or nephew could hit that combo. c.mk > super is a bit more risky in that if you guess wrong you're in trouble.

Nobody in Mohawk even attempts to use the mp, hp chain and they really should. So Dave, next time you play Ken, experiment with that shit and see what you can do with it. Seriously just abuse the hell out of it whenever you're close.
