looking for some maki match videos. was told to look for some buktooth maki, but other people's maki would be ok too.

Try looking on the GFB hub (the new one) for "Iyo". I saw a clip of Buktooth playing Maki on XBox Live. It's was fun, but it's only one match. If there's more out there I'd like to see it. Let me know if you come across any.

There's also this other Japanese player that plays Maki as well as Rugal. His name is Siba, but I refer to him as not-Iyo, on the count that he's not as good. :confused:

I have a vid of someone playing A-Maki. I have the vid somewhere but it's in the pile of 'random japanese matches'. :rolleyes:

sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. i think they say they're having dns problems. like it was working before when i posted, but now i try and i get "The page cannot be displayed", but then i just messed with the hosts file and it shows.

add the following in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and save.

But about the match... goddamn, I've never seen so much use of the spinkick move in one match. That's crazy. I guess it's an ok thing to do if you can't get punished badly for it.

Things I didn't like:
Super jumping across the screen with no followup if you happen to connect
Not using your meter
Lotsa sliding, even though you spaced it very well :clap:
KKK'ing things you could have counterhit to super
command run back into jump forward, I don't see that ever being a good thing unless it's a crossup after punch throw (I am guilty of something similar but I use the wall jump for a better angle)
That super at the end, omg, how lucky were YOU? I'm sorry to say you didn't deserve that win :(

Things I liked:
Spacing those slides very well for the most part :tup:
How much damage the spinkicks that actually landed did.. crazy
hitting Sakura's divekick with s.mk.. sweet
maki punch as a poke, which seems like a good thing, and yet I never do it
That activate, that was so silly it's funny

i have no hard feelings with the guy, i play and chat with him other time. if someone drops the winner doesnt get the xbl points, the loser doesn't lose points.

you may already know this, but for those wall dive kicks, i found if you sometimes wait a bit and do qcb hk as you're falling, people used to blocking the high qcb hk wall dives might think you're not going to do it and they move forward.

I don't do the s.lk into throw/c.mp that much anymore, but it's a fun mixup. IMO s.lk is better after knockdowns since it's 6 frames worth of meaty. However, c.lk has better frames and leaves less time for them to stick something in between. If you actually manage to land the s.lk meaty than the latter becomes a moot point.

when you're cornered or just next to the wall.
doing the hk divekick as you come down from a jump seems to work better for me once they start to block divekicks from higher up on the wall. around the end of parabola instead of the top.

i think they CAN punish it mid screen, but it's harder, and people aren't used to the recoil that maki has so they underestimate her. however in corner. however in the corner, they have plenty of time.

you can sonichurricane maki even if she does genko mid screen.

No normals or specials I know of can get her though, so it's reasonably safe to do if they have less than a lvl2 at hand. And A-groove can't do much that I know of against genko when spaced right.

Just to be clear I'm talking about c.lk xx lp.genko or c.mp xx lp.genko from maximum range. the first one combos on counterhit which is why iyo loves that shit after the lp,mp chain. A genko punch alone should work the same, but like I said in the other post, I never do that.

genko punch is -9 + "bouncing back". my guess is that this is simliar to trying to punish bison's 2 hit scissor kick. but -9, damn that's a lot. any long range strong/fwd shoudl beable to hit xx super, etc.(SHOULD, being the key word).

Any player who plays C-Cammy last (possibly as R2) and has C-Iori on the same team is 95% likely to be a scrub/new player and any webpages where the player's match is posted on is going to be a scrub page. I skipped those links even faster than I just skipped that two hours straight of A-Team vs A-Team vs C-Blanka.

The Kinha vids hotlinked this week from that webpage are the best vids. They don't look BAS or Fat guy with the pig T-shirt cheap, but A-scrub players are hard to fight against regardless and Nakanishi and KOK show you how to beat them up.

The ironic thing is that I used to make fun of Kinha for having the suckiest (ie. one sided and gimmicky) match videos on the internet too but now they're like the only webpage I'll download from without asking somebody else whether the vids are worth it or not first.
