I did NOT get a recording of JMar's half-life Sent comeback against Kuan's full team in Winner's Final, as I was off recording CFJ or something else equally awful at that point, sorry. Row called from Oregon to say you guys got lucky that he wasn't there.
As was probably very appropriate, OAQS was officially DQd out of the tournament for pulling a bullshit move in playing casual on the machines in the middle of the tournament. My apologies to Josh for needing to DQ him as well - we were on a very tight schedule, since the arcade was shutting down at midnight for their Midnight Madness computer game-a-thon.

CFJ is an AWFUL game and so boring to watch.
History, and where we're at: Quarters folded years back and became LanWerx Arcade. LanWerx Arcade folded and became Kicks Arcade (thanks to the generous Siu Wai). Kicks Arcade has now folded and will probably become Woodinville LanWerx Arcade. It is unclear whether or not tournaments will continue and if so where. Thank you to Damien, Brian, Siu Wai, Daryl, Tony and everyone else who's kept the Eastside arcade scene alive for these past seven years. And fuck the American distribution companies that don't release/import new games and thus help arcades die out. And fuck SNK, because seriously, don't release 9000000 versions of the same game that all suck and nobody plays. They get points for trying, but wow do these games simply never ever get played. Puzzle Fighter got more action than any of the SNK games. =\
Anyways: the machines are moving to Woodinville. I've got other stuff I need to focus on at this point so am going to take a further back seat for a bit. So things are in the air once again.
Thanks to Rattana, Khoe, Peachy, Chris, JALbert, RGB, and Rob for helping run the various brackets/tournaments. This was especially a huge help to me this time around since it let me just film everything I could. Thanks to Jetay for helping me run the camera.
To Theo, you can run from Thanos, but you can't hide. I'll hit you up down in Portland at some point and we'll get our rematch on. Archer didn't win 3rd Strike, so I won that bet.
* Jason Conger won the IceMan grudge match against Dr. B 2-0. I'm not sure how you guys play best character grudge matches, though - I usually play it that you have to play the "grudge" character until he dies.
* Dr. B won his match-up against Peachy.
JMar and LTB won the $50 ECCX travel bonus for winning their respective tournaments. So they're very interested in heading out to ECCX, if time/schedules allow. Rattana and I are pretty committed to going to, we just all need to start figuring out cheap air transportation.
King and I are interested in heading down to the Texas Showdown for fun. I don't know if the'll happen, but if anybody wants to suggest good/cheap flights from the area, go on ahead and you should see us.
Videos: I've got six tapes from the tourney to encode. This includes final-level footage of every game (MvC2, CvS2, CFJE, 3S. I didn't get a lot of Third Strike (2-3 matches), but got more of every other game, focusing on Marvel. T5 was recorded extensively, but I believe the whiny bitch haters out there have generally decreased the likeliness that that footage will be seen. Does anybody actually watch CFJ/CFE vids? I got those too, but man I can't see why that would be interesting. I'm midway through recording Friday night footage right now, which means I haven't even started on the Saturday footage yet. I would estimate that I should have the videos *recorded* onto my computer by Tuesday, and then it will take me at least another week to encode them. Bear in mind that it's my brother's wedding next weekend, so requests for me to hurry my ass up will be politely ignored.
Videos are all up at http://zachd.com/mvc2. Footage captured is mostly Marvel, a bunch of CvS2, some CFJ, and some Third Strike footage.
EDIT: Added full results.
