Ban CE and WW modes

Would it do this game some good to just remove CE and WW from competitive play? You still have 4 modes left: HF(the best designed of the OG to begin with) then SSF2,ST,Old ST.

I think many are hesitant to jump from ST to play vs CE bison/guile all day, and unlike other games it's not like someone is going to discover RC or unfly to totally change the game.

Nah, keep those modes. If you want to ban anything, ban ST...so we can FINALLY have a true OG Tourney again.

Okay, I don't play a lot of SF2, and I apologize for the stupid n00b question:

what is WW? I know there is normal, super, turbo, championship, and super turbo, but I don't know what WW is or how it is selected.

WW is World Warrior, it was the first version of Street Fighter II and was the only game to just have 8 of the playable characters. Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun-Li, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief and Dhalsim should all have World Warrior variants. CE introduced playabilty as the bosses.

I haven't tried anything non-Super out yet but the general argument is that WW and CE are cheap since it is easy to get dizzy correct?

As much as I enjoy ST, Vintage makes a good point - ST supers were the beginning of the end for true OG SF games. The last truly great SF game IMO is HF.

If we're looking to balance the game up some banning WW mode will help but banning CE too? CE characters can be countered and are very beatable. That's just a step too far IMO.

Note, the below is my humble opinion.

Turbo 2 Speed
Ken,Ryu,Akuma,Sagat characters are very playable, strong overall.

Turbo 3 Speed
Ken,Ryu,Akuma,Sagat characters all goes down a notch as the speed increase means that your Uppercut has to be even faster and more precise, at times making it not as effective

WW version for Ken/Ryu = Lightkick dizzy fest along with unforgiving attacks, once you are dizzy, it's gg

WW Guile = Enuff said, 1st tier defintely

WW Chun Li = Standing Middle Punch (Tap Throw Specialist)

CE MBison or Vega in Japan Version (Unblockable Psycho Crusher once you go down)

Those are some of my grips, especially Mbison, his Pyscho Crusher (angled or not) is purely nonsense. I have gotten beaten perfect so many times it's not even funny

Next would be a jumping strong, strong, light shoryuken to reduce you to near death + chance for dizzy again.

The only LOGICAL reason I see to ban WW chracters is the fact that they cannot be mirror matched. Thus they cannot truly compete.

Well i wanted to see if there was something we could agree on that would make this game ready for high level. I don't really know myself so thats why i am trying to get some opinions.

If AE was say an evo game, is there a chance that the finals could all be CE bison/guile? I don't want to just end up tossing out the entire AE game because of one or two characters, but that's the way it seems to be going.

Yeah, but CE Bison is never banned, i'm just trying to get something formal here as to what needs to be done. So if we change it and just say CE bison + WW Mode are banned, does that work?

Don't you already have it? If it's not different at all i won't bother with the US version. Some people must have it since i'm seeing more akumas than usual =P.

I'd personally would like to see this game added to the EVO lineup. It would be interesting to see which characters would be used.
