are there any other SOTA variants besides the main ones that were announced (electric blanka, yellow ken.....)?

There are alternate colors for every figure in series one. There's Evil Ryu and Grey Ryu, Pink and Turqoise Chun-Li, Orange trunks Sagat, Grey Sodom and White Bison.

to answer the Evil Ryu questions, there are, in fact, THREE versions.....

one is the SDCC Evil Ryu, this was SOTAs first SF figure, and is quite prone to breaking, the sculpt is similar to wave one Ryu, but the construction of the joints is slightly different.

the second is the Single-Carded Wave One Evil Ryu, and is a simple repaint of the regular Ryu

the third is the Japanese Evil Ryu, which is a hybrid of the first two, he includes re-engineered SDCC 'lightning' hands that fit into the regular series figure's pegholes (the original SDCC Ryu and single carded Ryu's hands were not interchangable) as well as three heads......

I've been doing a bit of research on the Japanese releases of these figures, and here's what I've learned:

I've seen photos of the Japanese-packaged grey Ryu variant, but I haven't seen an indication of how it's being distributed in Japan:

The turquoise Chun-Li variant is (in Japan) a Toys'R'Us exclusive, limited to 1000 units (packaging indicates it's supposed to be Chun-Li's "press & hold" color from Super SFII Turbo):

In addition to all of these figures, SOTA is also producing 2 large-scale versions of the Ryu and Sagat figures, with cloth costumes. American websites are referring to them as "Rotocast Figures," while they're called "Hyper Roto Figures" in Japan. Ryu measures 26cm (9.5") tall, while Sagat stands 30cm (11") tall. I've seen American and Japanese website listings for the Ryu and Sagat Hyper Roto Figures, with the Japanese websites indicating that each of them is limited to 1000 units in Japan. Hobby Shop Kotobukiya's website also lists 1 variant of each (I've seen the Evil Ryu listed on American websites, but not the variant Sagat) as Kotobukiya exclusives, limited to 500 units each (the orange-trunks Sagat variant is supposed to be his Player 1 color from SFII:CE):

Really? Chun-Li's "Super Secret" color certainly seemed more like a bright minty green to me than the light bluish color SOTA came up with... Still looks nice on her, at any rate. ^^

Also, does anyone else think that Ryu's grey outfit seems a bit too light? If it's supposed to represent his "player 2" color that he's had since CE, it should be darker, and more greenish.

These figures really look nice from what I've seen, although I don't have any myself. I might pick up a few when I get a chance, and I'm definitely looking forward to SOTA's Darkstalkers figure series! I really hope they do a nice job on Felicia's player 2 repaint (one of my favorite color schemes). Aside from the reddish pink hair, her body fur needs to be cream instead of white, and her skin needs a good tan. What can I say, I'm a nitpicker. ^^
