Im gonna keep this simple.
I just got the Anniversary Collection for the Xbox. I have been waiting for this shit for months. I have good ass competition that lives near me and a great arcade, but I was waiting for online play for competition on a regular basis. But this lag in AC is killing me.
I got guitly gear for xbox live and it has that 1 second delay to everything. I thought that was bad. But in AC its horrible. Sometimes my screen completely freezes. I think this is complete bullshit. Especailly how Halo 2 doesnt lag one bit at my house (which i would expect SF would be like NOTHING in that case).
Point is, I was just wondering for those of you that have good connection, what kind of internet service do you use? I am here in NJ and I use Verizon DSL. Please tell me how your connection is, either bad or worse, and what you use. Cause if cable is better by some weird chance, then it would be helpful to know that. :lame:
Thanks

Lets see if I can help you out man. First, take this speed test, and post the results.
http://www.broadbandreports.com/speedtests/
Are you using the Linksys Wireless B? It causes long pauses and lag for some people (for me, it was HUGE). My connections used to be just like what you are describing, long pauses or unplayable lag. Now they are near flawless 99% of the time.
So, basically, if your connection speed is ok, its the router. Try directly connecting.

You must have wireless, because even with 3 other people playing Halo 2 with my router I don't lag one bit on ST. Go with a hard line and you'll be gold.

^Ouch. Theres your culprit.
Still try directly connecting the modem to Xbox and see if there is a difference.
How much do you pay a month? If its 30 dollars or more you are getting raped. Switch ISP's.
*edit* To give you an idea of what kind of connection you'll want to get, mine is 1.5 mbps down, 160 kbps up, which is slow by comparison to others, but still gets the job done. Ditch the DSL ASAP.

I have a hard line. My other computer in my house is 25ft away (where the modem actually is)
