View Full Version : My Thoughts On SFAC after the US release

For people that don't know, I'm on 3s alot, and sometimes on AE since the import hit. I was waiting for the day it would come out to the US so I, as well as others that had the import, could actually get more players and variety to play. Well, that has definitely happened. Never have to wait 30 minutes for a game anymore, constant matches 24/7 on both games which is pure ownage! Its exactly what I wanted! Lots of different people

But the downside, since the release, I've been dropped on more times in the past week since it came out than the whole time when it was import only. wtf. Wtf is up with US gamers forreal? We too ego driven to take a loss like a man or what? gets irritating.

The other big problem that really blows is most of the waiting games that I join on, I get declined 90% of the time? Is the record completely scaring people off, or are people wanting the quick easy wins and go up rank? So now im at the point that I will ONLY host a game, cuz I waste a lot of time getting my matches declined.

Why do most US players gotta be shitty like that? gets annoying.

just my little rant, anyone else have thoughts?

I definetly agree that this game is a lot more fun with all the new people. Definelty cool.

About the dropping... I usually always host and only join optimatch games if I know the person. I have been dropped on only like 3 or 4 times since the US release, so hosting is probably your best bet if you dont want to get dropped on. I could really care less though, most of the guys dropping suck and I wouldnt want to play them again anyway.

Sabre we need to get some games in dude. It's been awhile since we've played.

Since the US release I've only been dropped on once, and it was by someone with a good record.

Yea, I agree with your Sabr3. We get declined so often. As far as dropping is concerned, dropping has accounted for 14 of our 18 losses...so to those who are hung up on records, let it go. The endless supply of droppers will surely ruin your record. And IF they don't get ya, the lag will.

I'm talking HSF2 btw....

hmm, maybe my playstyle is annoying? heh, even tho i am aggressive. i do know a lot of people sure arent liking tengu oro tho, thats for sure. =/

the real main complaing is all the declining i get, SO mandy declines. so i only host now.

cap: maybe later today, i'll look out for you

I'd play you guys but I am sure that you don't like beating up on n00bs. But I do hate the fact that players do prey on me because I suck. I end up asking myself why would they want to replay a n00b, than I look at the wins and rank. No wonder their record is so damn good, because they look for the weaker players. :lame:

You're not alone...in fact, I don't recall CVS2: EO being nearly as bad. The surge of new players seem to decline matches very frequently. I wish the rank didn't exist, if only to nullify their excuse for refusing challenges. They HAVE to be stat conscious, otherwise they're simply unable to deal with the beatdowns that are served to them.

I don't think it's just US players, but it seems they make up for the majority of the accused. :)

Yeah, same here. Most of the drops are after 1st round ownage, too. I agree w/ what scoot says, who cares, those people aren't even worth paying mind too, its not like you would want to play those scrubs again.

I used to think the exact same thing, but people do it to me in Hyper too, and my record in hyper is like 50/120, so it aint the record...so I don't know what is up w/ that. It does happen like way too often though.

I don't decline anyone I play all my matches till the other person quits. Some times I get owned hard for like 40 matches and than some times I win all the matches.

I look at it as a learning experiance whom ever I play I always learn some thing.

thats why i hate it when games have ranking thats noticeable. as much as i dont care about rank i wish i could just have an option to turn mine off and somehow keep it at 0/0.

oh well, atleast im the one improving, not them.

It's too bad that there's a bunch of morons who only pray on players with loosing records just to have a nice win/loss record. That's my beef with rankings in online games. If more games had an option to play a "free match" mode in which your record means shit then i'm in.

I don't care if I get dropped on as long as the gaming experience was ok (basically the connection). I can vouche for one thing and that's a fact... The connections i've been getting have been great for the most part on both games but either way no one I have played has really been good comp. Like you sabre alot of people decline or leave after one against me also. I could careless because I don't really gain anything but It makes me wonder why people care so much abou their record to where they wouldn't atleast stay for a few games to try to get better at the game. I've played a few people who got the US release with great records... like hardly any losses but when they play me and lose one it's peace out.

He's just trying to stress the point that dropping is dropping. Why it hurts people mentally is something I still don't understand

That's pretty unfair to say though. Ever since this game came out in the US there have been ALOT of non-hardcore third strike players. If you look around here there are threads complaining about good players either leaving after winning one match(what're you elitist or something? how am I supposed to learn the game if all the good players leave after one match)or complaining how people have amazingly good records.

If a guy show's he at least competent at any SF and has some fundamentals, I'll play him. If a guy just does dp, heli, dp, heli, dp heli, then of course I'll only play him one match and then move on. I'm sure if you're posting here though, you have more strategy concept than that, which may be why you get more rematches? =P

I like playing new blood.

I always look at their win ratio to guesstimate how much punishment i'm going to receive ^_^

I have ben declined alot recently as well. I think people see the B grade and rank and believe it means your shit hot or something o_0

Because we all know that your rank & grade count for shit for a fair assessment on how good you are....hey BOMBERMAN?

i can't complain, and i'm completely new to xbl altogether. sfac is the first and only game i've played on live.

that being said, i've had a few drops (no more than 5-10) on the last hit of a winning round. it is annoying, but i can't even usually remember the name of who dropped so i just move on.

like sabre, i go to create match 99% of the time i'm on. easier to set up what you want and get a challenge--also, i still get a huge kick out of the screen "you are asked to fight with you" hehe.

as far as rank is concerned, i'm actually excited to fight against someone in the upper 100s. i know i'll get my ass handed to me more than likely, but i'll also see something new or different that just might help my game out.
