I use the Super T or Super versions. His moves changed a lot after Turbo, definitely for the better. Tips depend on who you are actually playing. I play differently against other characters.

ST or CE. Stay the hell away from Turbo.

how about general tips on how to use his izuna drop? against most players i easily get knocked out of the air unless they are just not paying attention and i surprise them.

or good use of his rolling attack?

I use ST: Vega A LOT....best version of Vega imo

charge d/f,f+K is the best move to use against all jumping opponents and rebounding...

As far as the ground claw attack, i use it when a opponent is knocked down...8 out of 10 times u can either hit him or get chip away damage while being safe at the last hit...

Izuna drop is hard to pull off if u play a good shoto...other than that though...id do mixups with izuna drop and flying claw attack...throws them off for a bit...

I agree with Rodchan. Most of the time the ground claw attack will hit. Most shotos tend to try to do a wake up dragon punch, and miss it. If you do it a couple times and they hit you with it, stop doing it. But I say keep on the pressure with that move until otherwise. The great thing about the Izuna drop is it doesn't look like a super, the animation is the same until you grab them. If you can anticipate a fireball it will work, other than that most players will hit you out of it.

Another thing you may want to try as well is mixup the ground claw attack with JP and FP...lots of times if shotos try to wake up dragon punch and you do JP ground claw attack its a free 2 hits with claw on...

D,u+P like i said is the best way to mixup with your izuna drops...use the JP one to cross over the opponent or use the FP to hit the opponent while jumping towards u

thanks for the advice guys!

i seem to remember getting swept out of the claw roll. i think i was using CE vega though. can ST vega be swept out of it?

You can be swept out of it if they are already up. If they are already knocked down though, they can't sweep you out of it. Even if they block the claw attack it still does good damage.

You're also going to want to throw....a lot. Vegas got crazy walk speed and mad throw range/priority. My favorite thing to do is to bait a wake up attack, it's so easy with Vegas speed. Just walk up near them after a knockdown and right before they get up walk back out of range and that's a free throw.

Very true about the vega throw...i wish he had more priority against ST: Balrog....(again shakes fist at langrisser!)

Vega is indeed a tough matchup....

...except for Blanka. Those metal claws are a great conductor of electricity. lol

Then you can play my Vega after, or maybe me and RoDchan can have a Vega mirror match  If your Vega's better (which I suspect) then I'm screwed as the only character I can play better then Vega is Guile.
