Hey guys,

Just posting the info for the VERY LAST LAN party SF tourney of the Mohawk Winter semester. Althought it's not the last LAN party of the mohawk winter semester, it will be the last time that I hold SF tourneys at the LAN party until september. Reason being is that I will be out of the country touring Hong Kong and Japan in April. So in any ase, I hope to see everyone out at this last final tournament.

Here's the Tourney Lineup

6:00-6:45 - Sign ups for Third Strike
7:00 - Third Strike tourney starts
8:00-8:30 - Sign ups for Marvel Vs Capcom 2
9:00 - Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Starts
10:00-10:15 - Signs ups for Capcom Vs SNK 2 and HSF2:AE
10:30 - Capcom Vs SNK 2 and HSF2:AE Starts

I learned some things from the last LAN tourney that i'm going to be enforcing STRICTLY this time, like starting on time, and running the first two tournaments exclusively on their own. Also, THIS IS A WARNING, I will call out matches a match or two ahead. You will have 5 minuets to show up for your match. If your not there within 5 minutes your DISQUALIFIED (i dont' care who you are, last time i with held shit for certain people, it won't happen this time). I'm hoping with these changes that things will run smoother this time.

C=rolling, air block, level 2 super cancels, counter attack(alpha counter)
N=rolling, small jump, running, counter roll, counter attack(alpha counter), pop supers

C is arguable better with the air block and stored super meter, N has no air defense at all but has more mobility with run/roll/small jump and is better for rushdown.

P is good option against C and N but dies like a motherfucker to things like A Sakura and from what I saw recently, A Todo.

If you want an alternative to parrying, use K and Just Defend stuff. Although that groove also has issues against certain A Groove characters.

Don't start with S Groove.

Last time I read the "groove tiers"(assuming you believe in them) are
1 C, K, A(A>K K>C C>A)
2 N, P(can compete for sure though)
3 S

I think that it was clearly scammy brackets. Teddy, Curt, Rey and Me were the top four players in it. And how the hell did we end up playing each other in the first round? ME vs Rey, Curt vs Teddy. The brackets actually weren't random, I'm pretty sure you had the option selected for entry based on when you put them in the roster list. That's why Teddy and I got grouped together and why Vanny and Rey were grouped together. I had to change that roster option when I made the CvS2 brackets in the final tournamnet.

As for playing at Mohawk, it's pretty boring up there. I normally just go up to play marvel because that's the only game that is interesting to me. CVS2 is great, but the controls are ass on it. Actually, yeah, that's true. When I went to China, KOF was basically in every arcade(*cough*easiertopirate*cough) and got a lot of play. There was like no Street Fighter at all in the places I went to, although Shanghai, which is an awesome city IMO, is supposed to have a good SF scene.

When I was in Hong Kong, all I saw was one 3S and one CvS1Pro and about twenty KOF machines in the arcade I went to. :xeye: This was in 2001 BTW and truthfully, I wasn't really into games much around that time. Didn't really start getting insanely back into gaming until just before the start of 2002 when EG got CvS2 when I pretty much started gaming against what ended up being Team Hammer. :tup:

Raged R4 Sagat is probably one of the most broken characters in the game. Take a four hit combo, get raged, only lose 12% health. Then D.mk xx Super of your choice for 80% damage. That's just wrong in my opinion.
