I'm tired of people taunting when they win a round. That's just sleazy.
I mean, it's satisfying as hell to taunt them back after they get beat, but still. If you're one of those people, stop. It is annoying as hell and takes away from your actual image.

Sabre, I appreciate your condescending attitude. That's pretty sweet, break me off a piece. If anything, the taunts just work me up and make me play better. Either way it's annoying. It's like that guy who yells "HAH! YEAH!" after he wins a match.
Of course I had to run into a guy who taunted and was a retard over the headset today. :rolleyes:

People do taunt me like crazy, but they end up losing for it. Taunting actually helps me to play much better. I don't mind people taunting me on my friends list, but outsiders it's a different story.

Yes, I know. I don't have a problem with that. Hell, even if you're tauting me for the sake of taunting during the match I'm cool. I'm talking about when someone taunts you after you've been KO'ed.

Seriously. Half the guys I play think I'm just being a dick and start taunting back. Some dude taunted me with Remy, even. 20 seconds later, just before Remy's taunt was done, I hit him with a dash punch to super. So stupid.

Before I started watching some match videos and going online, I thought EVERYONE taunts after a KO.
However I just noticed in the SBO3 qualifier vid that DBA posted (thanks again), that NO ONE in the vid taunts after a KO. They'll do nothing, combo in a few extra hits when applicable, heck... even super-jump to land on the downed-player's head. But taunting? no, that's dishonorable. Actually, maybe Messatsu Yarou taunted with Urien once against the other Urien (may be mistaken here).
Playing against friends and computer on the DC version for years, taunting right after a KO became second nature. The rare occasions I actually get a KO online, I've started refraining from taunting, now that it seems inappropriate.

It depends on the character. A taunt doesn't mean much to me, but a ryu/akuma taunt sure looks cool after a win :bgrin: I play with dudley most of the time so I throw the rose all during the fight and always after. They let you taunt after a k.o. for a reason

i dont know what an SBO3 qualifier is BUT why do u care what those ppl do after a win? They dont set precident.
I agree with whomever started this post. WHY taunt at the END of the fight. Personally i think they are straight bitches for doing it after a KO. I taunt with makota, elena during the fight and it actually looks cool IMO. I really like when i do elena's taunt and connect both the hits... its nice, ppl get madd and start taunting me back LOL. only time i do it at end of fight is with 12, to make him disappear.
If u cant do it while fighting, too scared to do it or just not enough skill.... dont do it period :tup:

If someone taunts me after the KO I usually go to Ken and taunt after every knock down.

Taughting is great but not right before they say K.O. and the round is over. but taughting for a stat boost is fine DURING the match your gay as hell if u do it after STOP
I don't see why anyone would care that much about taunts.
Have you ever played an online game before? People will do much worse.

how did u guys figure out what taunts give what boost??? I mean arcade has no manual, the xbox manual = shit.
how long does a taunt last? like makota's... i do hers at start of round sometimes, do i need to do it more to keep the boost going? anyweb sites i can check out to learn more on other charater's taunts?
does elena's taunt give any type of boost?

Cmon, when Ken does it, it looks like his wrist is broken. Despite the fact that your opponent is most likely going "HAH, OWNZED YOU NUBZ!" is generally irrelevant because Xbox live is like that regardless of whether or not they taunt at the end of the round. If you want to get back, beat them and do nothing at the end, if that'll appease your strange code of fighting game honor.

The times I taunt is when I conect a flash kick with Remy and that against the turles but against people that play this game thinkgin and not abusing lag I never do a taunt in a macth. Also sometimes I do a taunt after the round if the retarted oponent star talking crap in the mic or just taunted me. After all if u taunt me I get piss and I star been an agresive bitch.

Finally experienced taunts in SF3 3rd strike online. Hm, felt like I rather prefer playing 3rd strike at the arcade than on XBL.
Is it me or do the taunt person want me to play serious? It is so distracting....
I'll play again, but this time. I don't give a damn if he taunted because of the way I play. This is the first time playing 3rd strike online. Thank goodness HSF2 doesn't have that and feels more comfortable without it.

and I'm against it after the KO cause it's irrelevant Unless it was a really close match, then I taunt them as a GG's type of taunt... never to talk shit or anything. :karate:

I'll taunt during the match with Dudley and Remy. Some times it works and some times the guy/gal I'm facing benomes FURIOUS. Mostly do it to the Urien cahrcters then get fuckin destroyed. Oh well....still good shit.

It is impossible to get a safe taunt off with Remy. His taunt is the longest in the game, and the stat increase is garbage (it increases stun meter).
Dudley's taunt is part of his mixup game plus it gives him a strength boost.

It's hard to break habits, and my friends and I pretty much always taunt after matches we play together. I've come to find people take offense to this on Live and I don't really see why, but then again we've ALWAYS done this and it's just something we always see.
As far as I see it, taunting is part of the game and if you get mad over it, you might as well go back to 92 and play SF2 with no throws.
I need to get a mic so I can hear people.

If it's in the game, you can't expect people to not use it.
It's the same as the no-throw expectation from early SF2, and it will have the same negative effect in the end.

Remy could honestly super art I you across the screen, start his taunt as soon as he recovers, and even if the opponent took every single hit and dashed over they could hit.
And it doesn't even hit! You can't taunt kill with it! haha

I use Dudley a lot so I need to taunt. Its part of my mixup/pressure game esp. if my opponent is in the corner. I'll throw a rose, then:
i) cr.short,short xx super
ii) link f.rh xx super
iii) cr. roundhouse into appropriate combo
iv) throw
v) short swing blow
vi) do one of his various chain combos (ie. cr.short,strong,fierce)
Basically, if you don't like me throwing that rose or "taunting" as some may see it then just quit at the rematch screen. But, I don't need the rose to rushdown and beatdown most of these scrubs on live hahahahahaha... j/k I suck @ 3s also and am one of the many live scrubs online

But if someone just wins a regular match(and especially if they didn't do that well during the match) and taunt, it's pretty annoying. Though if someone does something nuts and totally owns the hell out of me and taunts after, even then I'm okay with it.

I don't really care if the people do it.
If you can win the battle of mind games then you will most likely win the match. If your opponent gets pissed off or annoyed that you taunt after you win a round then you have the upper hand when it comes to mind games. I mean back in the day at the arcades people use to do some crazy shit to fuck with your gameplay just so they could win. Take it in your stride and don't let it get to you.
