First off, let me say I'm a crappy player. This isnt me going off bragging.
I like to use Twelve and Makoto. I use Twelve the first couple of matches to evaluate people. I played about four-to-five matches in a row where I did moderate(and lost) to fucking stomping the person where the person dropped immidiately after it was over. I dont get it. One guy, a ken, I got a perfect on, and he dropped right after it registered that I won that game. Not even the quit option at the menu. Anybody care to explain this? I lose about 2/3rds of my twelve matches, so it's not that they feel I'm "unbeatable", and normally I give people a decent run for thier money(with TWELVE), so it's not that I'm seen as scrubby either.
What? Would you really rather play the millionth shoto over a moderately decent Twelve you can most likely get some wins out of? Seriously. If you see me, stick around for a couple matches before running off.

I think that the same problem me and my friend (12 user himself) face since people can't acept that some non shoto char won over their crapistc Ryu, ect. Even so that my theory but this u won't find against players that hang in srk.

Are you the guy who just turtles in the corner with Twelve and spams that eagle dive? If so, no wonder you are getting dropped on. If not, pay no attention to this post.

Darin, you got dropped on just cause that guy was a ***, it had nothing to do w/ Twelve. I play Twelve too, hit me up sometime on live.

12 was the first character i attempted (key word) to try to play competently. i havent used him regularly in awhile, but i'd gladly play some mirrors to get back into the 12 game.

Some people tend to consider that if someone picks Twelve, they're trying to take the piss out of their opponent, since many people think that Twelve is really shit.
I got flamed to death once in an arcade just because I got a 20+ streak with Twelve against a load of shoto players and they hated my style of spamming air-dashing as part of a rushdown.

You should ignore them. A win with twelve is no mistake especially against the shotos, i play twelve too and it is satisfying winning with a low tier character. You should play me sometime

I rarely every do the dive.
EX Dive is useful, I think a lot of Twelve players forget that the move exists.
The only thing a regular dive is good for is "parry on reaction training."

They know shotos have a dragon punch, right? :wtf:
I suppose I'm just supposed to love Ken spamming SAIII off of every move he has, too. I thought the 3rd Strike scene in the UK was above that sort of mentality. Use it, abuse it, when it works do it again until it's taken away from you.

I don't hate Twelve,, but I don't like him either. I loved the cast of SF2 and I was really disapointed in the end of the trilogy of SF3 when they introduce too many freaks into the series instead of "fighter" type characters. I loved playing large full screen charge characters like Honda, Blanka, Bison, Balrog and a character like Twelve really doesn't do it for me at all.
Some SFers learned to deal with the new weird roster,, others didn't, but in Versus play with friends, I feel that a good 1/3 of the character select screen doesn't get selected.
Unlike SF2,, where every character in the select screen would get selected in crazy VS play. yes even T.Hawk would get run for a couple of rounds.
my two cents

I can understand this line of thought to a point...a lot of players disliked the character design as well as the game engine. That I can understand, but it isn't as though SF2 didn't have its own freak show. Blanka, Dhalsim, Vega and Dee Jay aren't my idea of traditional "fighter" types. SF3 tried to move away from the traditional stereotype caricatures in the character design and was mostly dissed for it.

The first time I saw the new generation to 3s I was in love with desing of the characters expect Urien and Gill. The problem that 3s haved was that 3s char are realy diferent yet familiar in someway like Necro with Dalshim or Dudley with Barlog but they play diferent all together.
Has to the why people don't chose other chars I think that or maybe they become WIN MANIACS instead of having fun is not like online playing is a real tourney that why recently I started learning new chars.

What mentality is that, winning?
If I have a simple combo or setup I can use that gets you everytime, I'll keep using it. It's up to you to find a way around it. Why would I make winning harder? For honor? LOLZ

T.Hawk friggin owns in ST. He can do setups that boggle the mind; his 360 throw has no missed animation. Get a knockdown (you can AA with his up headbutt, then do another, 2 hit combo!) and then stand over them and 360. If you did it right, you get a command throw. If you didn't then you're safe.
As far as roster selection in 3S, where I play everyone gets some love.
And Drarin, I'll be on live tonight. Bet it.

No. Hating on people that beat you with simple tactics.
My original post wasn't worded very well, that was the idea I was trying to get across.

Thats not a reason to get dropped on, if the opponent is having a problem over coming such cheap tactics then maybe he should sign off after the match and go to training mode.

I love the freaks of 3rd Strike. Your friends must suck, because everyone on the 3rd Strike roster can be and is used in high level play (with the arguable exception of Twelve and Sean), but they can certainly be used against "your friends". Actually, I've had many online sessions of 3rd Strike where we would go through the entire roster.
As for T. Hawk, my friend annihalates people w/ him, he's not a joke character.

Chikyuu has used Twelve and done very well in tournaments. I still have yet to see a Sean in any high level tournaments. He is the only character that I have yet to see, since Kuroda stepped up and took Q to a new level. I would imagine high level Sean would be mostly turtling, abusing s.fierce, and hitting alot of low forward xx super (either SAI or SAIII). If Sean's SAIII had 2 levels, he would be mid tier easy due to the damage/comboability.

drarin Ima send u an invite, cool?... doesnt matter, ima do it anyway LOL. Seriously i've only played 1 other twelve. I was playing some SS ranked guy and wanst into the game as it was but since i didnt nkow what to expect he beat me up good. Then he did that SA2 special, I was in LUV, i thought it looked so cool. I've been using him ever since. about 4-5 days.
U SHOULD use the air dive man, it works great when u dont use it much. Especialy against shotos. Do u ever go invisible and kick some ass ? I find that hilarious. my personal strat is to go invisible and for some reason alot of ppl open up trying to swing at the air and i do a special move..(wont say which) that hits em. Others play striclty defensive and guess what ... i just fly over n throw them.
