The DOA2U and DOA3 stages also kick ass. Moreso with the revamped stages in 2.

ryu stage from second impact, and kaumas stage from the same game. even alexs stage in si is good. cvs1 stages are much better than 2. akumas stage is nice and so is that wooden house thats being built that falls apart as you fight. the street fight which is half in an arcade is dope too. those two games have nice backgrounds. i also like the forest level from ggx reloaded

Lots of good stages mentioned. IMO, the best stage ever is King's bar in KOF95. Excellent.

Tower of Arrogance and Fetus of God (both from Vampire Savior) are two that really stand out to me due to their sheer uniqueness.

SFA2 had several very nice ones, Sagat's being one of my favorites. The depth and atmospheric perspective on that one is superb.
