View Full Version : REAL Combos

I am a long time "fighter," first time questioner....(That a word?)
Something, however, has been getting to me as of late. In your usual 2D games of today, one can link together an unstoppable and long chain of combos if one knows how to correctly. I dabble in a bit of that. However, certain Specials are simply your character performing a combo incredibly fast. My question is...are these combos possible without performing a Special? Now, I don't mean like a Shoryureppa, because normally there is a bit of a recovery after a Shoryuken is performed, so linking them is impossible. But take, for example -as it is the first one to mind at the moment-, Rogue in Marvel vs. Capcom 2's Quarter-Circle + PP Special. She attacks with a barrage of fists and kicks and finishes with a kiss on the cheek. It SEEMS like this combo, albiet the speed, is possible to do normally (Perhaps a Speed Up is needed?).
Is this possible? Have people done it? And by all means, I don't mean just her. I mean ANY character in any game.

I am serious to the point of asking. You see, I believe it is possible. However, when they make something like that a character's special, it makes you think if it's possible. Why bother making it a special, then?
....Perhaps my coordination is off. I can link my fair share of combos, just nothing as extravagant as that.
Then again, I'm scrapped for training. No one in my area cares for fighting games except myself.

I want to be able to do Kim's CvS2 Rush super in real life, but doing the same combo with just fastly mashed links would be cool too....

Hi, this post is all about combos, REAL COMBOS. This post is awesome. My name is Mel Masters and I can't stop thinking about combos. These hits are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.

Facts:

1. Combos have hits in them.

2. Combos cannot be blocked ANY time.

3. The purpose of the combo is to flip out and KO people.

... is what I thought it would say.

Bullshit. There's no way you can be serious about this. This is not an issue of skill, it's an issue of common sense.

If it were possible, why would the super move exist?

...So can someone just answer "Yes, they can be done" or "No, they cannot be done?" It's all I am asking for. Everyone keeps saying how crazy I am, but not an answer.

Matt said it can't be done...at least, that is what I got from his answer.

Yes they can, you've just gotta keep practicing.

but before you do it, you must defeat sheng long to stand a chance at completing the combo.

Thank you.
But I have a follow up: Then why do these paticular Supers exist?

because if you pour gasoline on your hands while your playing and drop a match on them. Your K groove bar will stay maxed out when you use the super.

I'd hate to see what you people do to folks who ask "How do you perform a Hadoken?"

You know, even when I was completely new to fighters I never even remotely considered that this could be possible . You need to research the concepts of startup, hit and recovery frames, man.

edit: also don't take the hazing you'll get from guys here seriously, it's the internet

People are treating you like an idiot because this is a retarded question. No, you can't manually perform multi-hit specials or supers. I'm sure you've tried to at some point, and it failed. That should have been enough of an answer. Want to know why the moves exist? Because they look cool and it makes sense for that character to have it. That's all.

It shows. Anyone with any skill would know better just by playing the damn game. You might wanna go play Yugioh or Pokemon whatever the children in your agegroup play.
