Few questions about the GBA fighter:

(1) Is it any good?
(2) is the game easy/difficult when playing against the computer?
(3) I understand that there are only 4 buttons, does it really take away any enjoyment from the game?
(4) If not this game, any other fighter recommendation for GBA? I plan to play this on my DS but dont know of any fighters announced for that system yet.

Any other comments about the game? Thanks in advance.

I think it's pretty good. Worth getting if you like ST. 4 buttons kind of sucks, but I don't think it really takes away from the enjoyment.

ST Revival is cool!!!
By far the best beat-em-conversion on a handheld afaik.

The 4 buttons is a bit annoying, but almost every combo from ST is in there, I can do pretty much all the combos I can do on normal ST.

The cpu difficulty is ok. Much harder than psx, but not as hard as DC or arcade.

Of course it's only REALLY good when you can play link-up with an opponent. Like all fighting games, the 1p mode has a limited shelf life.

my experiance with this game is that it is glitch ridden. the copy I had (and I've heard of this happening to lots of other people too) not only crashed if you reached akuma but also immeadiatly erased all you time trail records and made it so that you couldn't record any more! also the graphics mess up when you finish people with supers sometimes.

there is an option to turn charge times off which is pretty funny, especially with guile (sonic boom infinite!). but unless you can get it mega cheap I wouldn't bother.if I was you i'd go for alpha 3.

Where is the option to turn off charge times? It's not in the option menu, does it need to be unlocked or something?

Press Select during a match. It also shortens the movements you need to do a move.

Yeah, the dreaded Akuma glitch is SF2 Revival's biggest problem. The new endings drawn by Edayan are really nice though.

OK, that's strange. I just tried it on my cart and it doesn't work. I tried everything, hitting Select during the match, pausing then hitting Select, hitting Select on the matchup screen. nothing. Considering all the glitches I've read about surrounding this game, I wonder if this is another one.

Also, is there any way to get the classic backgrounds for the fighters who have new ones? The new backgrounds are nice enough, but you know, sometimes you want to keep it strictly old-school. Thanks again.

Nope, you´re stuck with the new ones.
I didn´t liked Ken´s btw, Ryu´s on the other hand is pretty cool & reminds me of 3rd Strike but then at night.

alpha 3 is surprisingly good considering it's on the gba. they put a few more characters in it as well like yun and eagle.definately worth a look.
