I watched some matches and they were pretty sick, but are the colors fucked up on anyone else's comps?

I find the crowd reactions to the really random costumes to be the best part so far, along with the costumes themselves obviously.

The trophy was bigger then him though, cmon.

Alot of jap tourneys actually have no cash prize, but im sure that he must have won something...

i'll agree that trophy was ginormous, but when i saw that piece of cardboard come out i was just imagining how much the check was going to be

then i saw the words ranking match on it and no yen sign...

The piece of cardboard shows his new, exclusive rank. It's not much of a prize for Itabashi, because he already HAS one of those from a previous tournament (as do most of the top finishers), but the bragging rights for one of the biggest tournaments in Japan should be good enough.

Hey MeanGreen, can you post the tournament up on a torrent site or X'fer it over MIRC????

And a Shun player going all the way was the best. VF = balanced

So shun won very refreshing.
But shun has won 2 tourneys now and no kage in the top two, let the shun is top tier bandwagon begin

Itabashi Zangief won using Shun. King came in second with Pai.

I have to say, i'd love to see a tourney run like this in the us. Just substitute the singer/dancers for like, some cool american singer.

Plus an american crowd is nowhere near as silent. Gotta love the cheering and taunting by the crowd.

perhaps in japan the cardboard has a symbolic meaning.

perhaps the symbolic meaning is 'get a job'
