Darkstalkers collection

Im sure this is old news or whatever...

I heard that there is a Darkstalkers (or Vampire Savior, or whatever) collection in the making for the PS2. Is this true? Can anyone give any hard evidence? I havent played this game much cause of 3s :karate: But I would like to get into it. And if Capcom is making a new collection for the PS2 it would give me the insentive to do so, instead of having to buy a ps1 version on ebay.

If this is true. Will it be comming out for the Xbox with Xbox live capability? Thanks.

As kind of a follow up question. Is there any kind of scene left for this game? I have a few friends that play it. And they havent had a Darkstalkers arcade on the break in a while apparently, plus everyone is on 3s or CvS2 anyway. Why isnt it in evo? Is there any reason why? Is this game not tournament worthy or something? Someone please bring me up to speed.

I dont need to preorder, I work at gamestop :encore:. But thats whay I was wondering if it is comming out for the xbox, so I dont have to buy the ps2 version just to find out there is an xbox one on the way. and no I live in union. Are you in ocean?

I hope they bring the darkstalkers collection to shitty usa. I dont have a modded or japanese ps2 so if they don't im fucked! I would buy it for sure the day it came out. Heres hoping that a darkstalkers collection for ps2 makes its way to the us.

capcom is cheap and lazy..they keep doing the same thing over and over..i know its a good news for people but damn for god sake can they gather their time to make a new game..they havent update any fighting game in a long time...lets guess what collection they gonna do next? street fighter EX maybe? :razzy: lets hope not :xeye:

A note: This collection will actually have all 5 games in their original forms, rather than being a "mix n' match" like SF Anniversary or Vampire Chronicle.

Anyway, I don't have a PS2, but if this collection got released in the US, I'd buy one just for that. Yes, I'm -that- obsessed. ::p Suppose I could pick up SF Anniversary as well, seeing as I've yet to play SF3.

Do most 2D PS2 games these days have support for the analog sticks on the controller? I was pretty disappointed when I found that the sticks were useless for my ebay-acquired PS1 Alpha 3...

As for Darkstalkers having a scene... It's never been as popular in the US as it has been in Japan, for some reason. Also, the US hasn't gotten that many releases. VS2 and VH2 were never released in US arcades, and the last US console release was Darkstalkers 3 (basically VS with a few extra characters) for PS1, IIRC. However, with Chronicle getting a confirmed PSP US release soon, and the possibility of the Collection being released here for PS2, it's possible that the series could gain some much deserved popularity.

As for Xbox... I haven't heard anything yet. Japanese PS2 release (in May, I believe) is the only confirmed info so far.

IF it comes out in the states, it may be whats needed to start up a tournament scene for it. Theres never been a good circulation of good vampire in the US.

I, for one, am quite eager to get Vampire DS Collection. This should be the first time there will be a non-laggy, full animation port of Vampire/DS1, a full animation port of Vampire Hunter, and an (hopefully) exact port of Vampire Savior (Saturn port was good, but didn't have all the unblockables and had retarting CD music). VS2 and VH2 are throwaway games but it wouldn't be a complete collection without them I suppose.

Well pal if ya haven't noticed it yet, they announced this a few weeks prior to the release of the US PSP Darkstalkers & a few weeks AFTER the Jap PSP Darkstalkers was released! WTF is Capcom thinking?!
Anyway I'm sure they'll bring it to the US. Though there is something that troubles me...
Why release 5 games, 2 of which are more or less the same with some characters knocked off of each, and not compile them into one game?
I mean why not just release Darkstalkers 3 from the PSX on the PS2?

I have Nightwarriors:Darkstalkers Revenge (AKA Vampire Hunter) on my Saturn, so I'm satisfied. I personally don't like the other DS games, but I love Night Warriors.

Probably the only reason I'd be interested in DS collection is if it comes out on XBox Live.

Capcom should also put in the complete Anime Darkstalker series along the with the games (like the SF2 Anime that was included with SF:Anniv. Collection). I never saw the Anime and it might be good for DS fans. As long as it doesn't include the US cartoon series (YUCK!).
