Seriously MOTW Rock is pure shit. Some of the other characters are pretty fun though.

Check the Other Games section of SRK...there's a thread on that game that goes pretty in depth. Despite supposedly being a balanced game though, there is supposedly a really set in stone top tier though. The game is even more about high/low than 3S it seems. Insane high priority small jump attacks. :wow:

Its a good game although I've never played it much against other people. SNK has done a hell of a lot worse.

- Jamie's OCC of Team You Owe Me $2.50, best match I've ever been involved with hands down. And Jamie playing the match of his life. :clap:

- Almost perfecting Cruxay on MVC2, good thing we both don't play the game cause it was a first hand account of how broken it is. :xeye:
- R4 Challenge being a total success and probably THE event of Make the Finals
- 3 hours of sleep before a tournament again, I have to learn from this, sleep is fucking important.
- Jamie getting us lost on the way to his house. How can you not know where you live? But you know the convience store next to your apartment?

- Korean BBQ has become the food of choice for post tournament festivities. The more the merrier.

hotel is the motel 6 like 10 min away from teh break. I think I paid like 20 a night or something like that, wasn't expensive. Everybody stays there and you just walk around playing games in everybodies rooms. Its I think 6-8 hour drive. BTW, that 20 a night was per person in a 4 man room where we had like 5 or 6 in the room :p My memory sucks, so I could be completely wrong. If we talk to Justin he has a better memory. Personally I'm still annoyed that we lost to Team Brampton about a year ago. I feel that they got us at the right time, pretty much when all of us were new to the scene and took advantage. So I guess that I'm asking, is anyone out there willing to challenge Team Brampton again? It's just a friendly thing again. But I guess it's for a matter of pride. That and the fact that I'm still annoyed at losing, and getting peaced out in all 5 matches. Opinions please.

Oh my, Hyper Streetfighter is the only game I've been playing as of late.
The CPU's a bitch, and I love it! Haha.
They have counters for everything you do, it's sad how lazy Capcom have gotten with the AI after ST.

Mr. Zangief and his 100% perfect execution of SPD is annoying as fuck...some distances he's able to grab you at makes you go, "vhaaaaaat the fack?!?"...

Due to the character's long ass block stun and the range of the throws, tick throw is almost inescapable in this game. Too good.

I don't even know if you can jump out of Zangief's cr. short tick, into the RBG. That tick seems impossible to get out of, maybe you can reversal DP to counter it or something.
Craaaazy.

Every characters kick ass in this game, I love it.

there's no point to rc'ing it you need perfect timing everytime to get it.

cause the motion for it is :hcb:, :r: + p
if you do :hcb:, roll, :r: + p, the game will only read :hcb: + roll = the running grab, not rc'ed.
if you do :r::df::d::db:, roll, :l:, :r: + p, you'll still get the running grab, not rc'ed, since the game reads it as the "shortcut" version of :hcb: (you actually never have to do the full motion to do a :hcb:)

the only way you can do it is: :r::df::d:, roll, :db::l:, :r: punch. since you only have 3 frames to cancel the roll, and one input per frame, you need to complete the :db::l::r: motion in 3 frames, meaning you need PERFECT timing with no room for error.

the :r::df::d::db::l::r: + :p: command grab is really hard to RC cause apparently it gets mixed up with the :r::df::d::db::l: + :k: move and that move will come out when you input the roll. So instead of getting the RC command grab, you'll get non-RC rush move thingy which will likely get blocked and then you'll get smoked so hard your momma will cry. So I wouldn't really bother.

I wouldn't really bother RCing :r::df::d::db::l: + :k: either cause even if blocked, well...see above.

I have so much I want to say regarding the ST characters...but I will only say this:

Guile's super is one of the worst in the game (compared w/ the other ST supers in the game).
If he had the Sonic Hurricane, shit, it'll all be over.
His c.hk (like in all the other games) is the worst, also. Especially when the game moves so fast and all the other characters' normals are sooooo good.
Then you see Guile's c.hk and you'll be, like, ".....ew..."

It actually can be used in some ways such as a wakeup and can be combo'd into though that takes a ton of practice. It isn't one of the best supers like Ryu's Shinkuu or Balrogs rush though.

Honda's is the worst though. Unless its done a certain way, you can block the first hit of Honda's headbutt then reversal DP/flash kick/super the second hit. Honda has other things to use though like stored ochio grabs which are cheap as hell and shut down any tick throw games if used properly.

Read NKI's thread in Fighting Game Discussion. He's in Japan playing ST/AE and he's got as much info on the way the game is played as you could ever want.

EDIT: Sorry, just to add...Honda's super can hit even and he can still get reversed on the second hit. So yeah, worst super for sure.

Actually in ST his super is good if u manage to get in on the opponent...and if you get a chance to do a cross up then right after it do d.lk, d.lk xx super = 90%+ damage

i'm not a big guile fan anymore so i'm not sure of any other tricks to make his super useful

Oh yeah, Blanka's sucks too. Probably a good thing considering his meter builds up with the beast hop at a disgusting rate.

Sagat's is a bit better than Blanka's and Honda's but its not that great either. Usually not much point to the super though since the better choice is to fuck the super, use O. Sagat and Tiger till the cows come home. :zzz: :nunchuck:

EDIT: Nam, if you ever have somebody random super you with Honda, you can use Guile's super to counter the second hit if you want. There you go, a great use for Guile's super. :bgrin:

Honda's super isn't bad people. Its his best way of getting in against fireballs. Him trading a super hit with an uppercut on reversal is MORE than worth the amount that he gets in with it. He pretty much needs it. And if somebody jumps, his super hurts a lot.

BTW... just in case you didn't notice, his super is used to travel through fireballs, not for actually hurting people :p

lol. gerjay's right about honda's super except for one thing. if the character's got a good reversal (rog, shotos, guile) those guys can reversal honda super for a clean hit. Unless the other guy fucks up honda can't even trade using the super.

And wakeup supers are never a good use, in any game.

Here's an actual good use for guile super:

crossup short, low short x 2, super

This is a kara cancel combo. And it does sick damage.

Anyone who can land that or Ken's kara super combo consistently in a real match is a true combo machine.

Anyways, here's my update on things in general...

I got offered a job today that I'm going to take. Bad news from this is that it will require me to be available on weekends and since ECCX is a few weeks away I can't really book off a weekend so soon so I can't make it to it this year. Hopefully I'll be able to go to a US tourney eventually, just won't be this one. Getting my job and money situation all settled is ten times more of a priority for me anyways.

I did however ask for T6 weekend booked off since its still about two and a half months away so I should be okay for that. I'll try to make plans to house some Hamilton people(sorry, dudes but my apartment ain't that big) so they don't have to drive back and forth.

I'm coming back to Hamilton this Saturday cause my niece is the lead in a play that I have to see. If anyone has anything going on in the afternoon, I can see about making it. Have to get the update on when exactly her play is though to make plans.

I can take out almost anybody that have =< 3k HP with only 3 nukes under 4secs. But pallies, they'll just shield when they're low and then heal up. I usually run out of mana before they do. Thanks to honor system they now have trinket to unsheep themselves. :sad:
