This is by far one of the best tournys I've been to in awhile, so I decided to log it.

Team Tourny

Noodleman and I decide to team up with A-groove. Since it's only the two of us, we each have to pay $7.50. I give him a $10, and this is how the team name "you owe me $2.50 is born". Then Jiggabry wants to join us as well. So he owes both of us $2.50

On to the tourny.

vs. Team Hammer (Veggiebob2002/Fobhunter/WB!)

Bryan basically waits for Fierce punch with sagat and kills the first guy. Then I come in with Todo and grab cc everyone to death until I get to Jaime, who plays Chun-Li2 as the anchor. I lose, then Jason comes in and.........gets combo videoed. Wow. That should go in the trailer. Wait, it wasn't taped. So I just switch to Mai, who counters chun-li, and Jason doesn't get to play Jaime. EVER AGAIN.

vs. Team Cocky (Flightwing/JS Master/Ratio1beatdown)
Roger is playing MvC2, and Wing and Eric, being team cocky, decide to play us anyways, with Eric saying we won't make it to Roger anyway. So Bryan comes in and punches the shit out of nak, leaving her with little life. Then I beat wing with a jump-back fierce, and then Eric comes in with Cammy. And gets cc'd and command grabbed to death. All I hear is Wing and Eric shouting, in the fobbiest and most annoying voices ever, "WOGER!!!! WOGER!!!! YOU NOW COME!!!!! YOU ARE PLAY NOW!!!!!" They hold back on the stick until Roger is able to scramble to the machine. He kills us, but I still thought it was funny.

vs. Team Unleashed Fury (Nagata Lock II/Ack/Gerjay)
Best 3 out of 5.
1st round. Bryan plays Ack first and manages to kill him everytime with Sagat punches. Then Nagata comes in with Kim. And I rush the fuck away with Mai. He doesn't touch me once during the first round, and all I hear is "FUCK!!!! ARRRRGGGHHHH!" Then I take out half of Gerjay's A-Blanka. And then we lose.

2nd round. Same thing. Bryan Punches, Ack Dies, Bryan get thrown, I run away, Justin snaps, I take out half of blanka and we lose.

3rd round. We were actually able to win this match because I was able to put Gerjay down to 25% health.

4th round. And then.....Justin switches to Vega. I hate vega. Vega claws me for free. And we lose.
Fun tourny though, we got 3rd.

This was the absolute highlight of the tourny. Everyone joined. Ack, Stephen...even Antoine.

Justin tells me to pick a character right away, so I'm like "Umm.......C-Yun"

Crap.

Now what happens next will forever be known as "the journey". It's the story of how a C-Yun climbed all the way to 5th place. That's right, C-Yun. I only remember 2 matches:

vs. Noodleman.
I play Amingo/Storm/Tron Bonne. All I can say is Amingo/TB Satellite is broken, and noodleman didn't have a real good AA assist. Does so much damage, and then I just DHC to storm and runaway.

vs. Nagata Lock.
He picks commando, and right away I know I'm gonna have problems getting in. Well guess what? The controller is kinda busted on my side, and I can't really jump forward, so every time he calls out commando, I'm safe. Again, Amingo-Satellite does a lot of damage. It comes down to Storm/T.Bonne vs Storm/Command. I randomly hailstorm, the screen freezes, and I see Justin's Storm doing Tri-Jump Fierce, and commando doing AA. So I mash the shit out of the machine and win. Giving me a 4th place finish.

Oh yeah, there was 3rd strike too. Umm.....We lost. To get a sample of my 3rd strike skills, here's a snippet of a conversation I had with Antoine.

Kin: "Hey Antoine, my Urien's pretty good, huh?"
Antoine: (pauses)....."this conversation is over."

So the tourny is over, and we all shake hands, and some of us go to kbbq. And pretty much just talk shit all night long.

However, RPGv2 gets his ass handed to him by Fobhunter, because Rey is sitting on one end of the table, Fobhunter and the other, and Rey just keeps talking for the longest time, and Fobhunter is just like "uh-huh, yup, yeah, got it" And then Rey ends off with a question. Complete Silence. A tumbleweed goes by. And then Fobhunter says "Dude, I didn't hear a single word you just said"...........AHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!. Good lord, that was better than Justin engulfing Gordon at the last kbbq.

Anyway, to those who went, it went well, the rest of you can go to.

3S:Bad sticks, decent amount of competition during the afternoon.
Tekken 5:Decent Sticks, good amount of players.
Marvel 2: Ok Sticks, Level 4 damage, no players.
No CvS2.

Video Pinball: 1 block south of Yonge and Bloor, next to Shopper's Drug Mart.
3S:Good sticks, little to no competition; I'm usually there from 4:30-5:15pm.
No Marvel, CvS2 or T5.

You could also goto Chinatown Centre's basement; there are some ppl who play tehre after school I think.

Take the University Line subway to Downsview. Get on the 196 York Express bus which takes you right to a mini shopping mall on York campus. The Campus Cove is right in that shopping mall and you can't miss it cause its big.

EDIT: Just make sure to pay attention to the York thread though cause since its exams/summer now, not many people might go. Hard to say right now. I don't know for sure if I'll be there.

Alright no one's fucking tal;king to me regarding Evo. So Here's the deal

-only a few people have told me when they want to go/leave
-everyone keeps asking me how much the trip is going to be. How the fuck do i know, if i dont know who wants to go, and how long people want to stay?

here's the list of "for sure going" so far

if anything, this is going to be the fucking list. And whoever else wants to go, you have to fucking plan your own trip. You have ONE DAY to tell me when you want to go, and how long you want to stay.

I'll tell you right now that the trip is probably going to cost either damn close to 1000 or a little over 1000+

-plane ticket is probably $500CAN
-Hotel, 100-150US a night is the deal we're trying to get. 1 room for every 6 people. So hotel is going to be anywhere from 30-40US a night. That's $50 CAN if it's 40US. That's $200CAN for hotel alone
-EVO is $30US for your first game, and $10US for every other game. So if I'm joining just 3s, it'll cost me $30. If i'm joining 3s, cvs2, and AE, that's $50 US. So assuming everyone's joining 2 games, that's $40US (another 50CAN)
-Food: who the fuck knows. lets say $25 US a day. I dont know. ($30CAN)
-Gambling: you figure this out on your own

I flew out of Detroit the year I went, and that was hella cheaper than flying out of Toronto. Buffalo works just as well, basically you just want to avoid flying out of Canada cause of our shitty taxes.

i listed Pittsburgh/Charlotte cuz these flights are the same cept one heads to Pittsburgh the other, Charlotte.

One thing to note, the cheaper departures/returns have a wierd +1 day which means flights arrive at the destination one fucking day after departure date :confused: If you check the .com version you can find some returns without the +1 but the prices are american, so its a bit more pricey.

We have two people (Nech Neb and DarkDragon) willing to drive to Buffalo. So it looks like we're flying out from there.

Our flyout date is scheduled to be on the 10th of August at 6am. That's 2 days before evo. WE'll have Wednesday and Thursday to do whatever. Jeff and I plan to go to Roswell to steal/rape an alien.

I also found some cheap hotel deals that come with the flight. Granted, they are probably 1 person rooms so we can fit maybe 3-4 people in each room. 3 rooms sounds good if we hav aound 9 people. So that's $100CAN per person for hotel. You pay whoever is booking the room. We're also working on getting a 5 star hotel deal for $100-$150US a night, which is awesome but pricier.

I can't make the weekly tomorrow. I thought I'd drop thoughts on the time change though. The main reason for the time being bumped an hour is that we didn't get started until 8:00pm when we were supposed to start at 7:00pm. For most of us that's not a big deal but I think it is a big deal for Marc. The guy pretty much sacrifices a ton of time for us and from what I understand he's taking heat from his girlfriend over it. I think it's only fair that we at least try to accomodate the guy in that we show up and start earlier (or at least on time) so we can have our tournament and Marc doesn't have to deal with the inevitable nagging that'll come with staying at ORBIT until late hours just to accomodate us.

On a completely unrelated note...

I finally got a stick for my PS2 that isn't garbage. Do I learn 3S or #R?

Guilty Gear XX #Reload. It's basically the version of GG everyone should have been playing since last year if not longer but ORBIT wouldn't get off their asses to get it. Props to Marc for asking again for us and getting shit done.
