I just got my new camera so I decided to take pictures of my "ghetto arcade". Don't laugh, it works. It's hooked up to a Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and Xbox. It's also connected to Xbox Live.

http://www.geocities.com/albertcarmona@sbcglobal.net/Setup-2.jpg

One joystick has an Xbox S controller PCB connected to a Happ Perfect 360 joystick and Competition buttons. The Street Fighter controller has it's original PCB (no lag out of the box) with a Hard Spring Competition joystick and buttons, and I have a MAS with with a Dual Shock PCB, Medium Spring Competition joystick and competition buttons. A few other joysticks are in the works.

If you live in the area you can come over and drink some beers with me and my buddies. (over 21 sucka) We play CVS2, SF II, 3S, and a little bit of T5.

I also took a picture of my lobster....

As long as the players don't have to stand too close together, I like it.

So few people seem to be willing to play while standing up these days. Sigh...

Looks cool mate, although it does look like there'll be a bit of elbow fighting during 2 player matches :karate:
Is that a DF stick there?

Cool lobster too! despite the fact it looks like a evil bigot :bgrin:

I like it close, that way I can shove them if I'm losing. Just kidding..

Theres plenty of space, you can pull the joystick apart.

Sweet man. I love it. I've got a similiar plan... I am going to hook up a dedicated MAME PC & dreamcast to my spare 27" TV - all on a big table. I will have two custom joysticks out front for control, with two bar stools for seating.

But my xbox will remain on my front projection screen (http://homepage.mac.com/cramlet/.Pictures/extra/crib2.jpg), running 480p+ :D

Albert's ghetto arcade plays better than the real arcade!

Not to mention you can drink beer at his arcade.

Nice setup.

And who says you can't drink beer at the arcade? We dont get bothered at all, as long as it is not in the original bottle.

not a bad setup at all, but does the entertainment center that the stick is on shake when you play? If the sticks move around you can use the industrial strength velcro. It holds very well.

This is my setup right now... I'm a loner so No one to play against

I doesn't move, it's pretty solid. I've got some of the non-slip plastic under the joysticks.

dakkonmc you are welcomed to come over next Saturday evening. Let me know and I'll PM you the details. Mr. John Choi will be there owning everyone but if he keeps winning we'll make him chug some beer down.

Dude, your Ghetto Arcade is nothing compared to mine...

*Please note that it was made as a joke. I am actually working on modding my arcade sticks, and if that goes well and I can get my hands on more money, I'm building a cabinet from scratch.

i sound stupid asking, but i have no other way to know except asking.

but i was RECENTLY just told 360's is the shit. then i read a review on Got-next.com and they said Mas 360's were doodle. any comments? like what if the 360 broke, how can you repair the opticals?

also dont forget this one: why are you switching over to sanwa? is that a better stick? not talking buttons because i have no clue about the whole thing anyway, but i meant the stick itself. explain in detail anything you can to a beginner like me.

and what kinda stick is that with ryu and sagat? mas systems? can i buy it from you or anywhere? thx

If you are going to use an American Stick your best bet is probably the 360. But it is a matter of preference. There's no reason why it should break, but if something goes wrong with the optics you should probably buy another one because youre not going to fix it. The Sanwa is a Japanese joystick, ahh, go read some threads.....

ya'll have some nice 'arcade' setups. i tried something similar to yours albert_c, as well as the projection tv set up but i was never satisfied until i went on the quest for what i've always wanted...

Dude I have that SAME EXACT disc. On my dreamcast though it goes through a bunch of internet set up menu's before getting to that menu, but on all my friends it goes straight to that menu. :-(

Anywho, here's a picture of my "ghetto" arcade. Heh, I like to call it my "executive" arcade since both my sticks fit RIGHT where my keyboard and mouse are sopossed to be. Once I get my cabinet made and my other computer fixed, I'll post pictures of my REAL arcade cabinet.

Someone mentioned after it was released that 3S wasn't patched for RGB. If I could find a patch to do that, Ill get it rereleased ASAP. I tested all three with a VGA cable and they worked fine; I didnt expect any of them to have problems at 15KHz RGB when they worked at 31KHz RGB(VGA)

On my dreamcast though it goes through a bunch of internet set up menu's before getting to that menu, but on all my friends it goes straight to that menu. :-( Put the modem back into your DC! If you don't have a modem or sega broadband adapter in your DC, it will always go to that setup page. If your modem IS in the DC, then go through the setup and put in bogus information and make sure to save it to the DC. If you do it right, you only have to do it once and never have to do it again.
When testing, the idea of people not keeping the modems in the DC never even crossed my mind. That problem won't happen again if I ever re-release.

Thanks, I have the modem in my Dreamcast. However I bought it new, and when I got it I flashed the internal memory so it was like brand new.

How do you configure it?

Toodles
04-10-2005, 08:40 PM
just want through that setup that comes up when you boot the disc up. Choose you location, fill out information like you were using your own ISP (NOT sega.net!) and fill out bogus info for username/pass, telephone number and everything else. At the end is a big SAVE button that saves that information to the modem. viola, it will start booting straight to the main menu if you did it right. Unless you specifically tell it to, it wont actually try to use the modem, so dont worry what you put in

ShotgunSteve
04-11-2005, 08:12 AM
Hmm I did that before, but not the bogus user name/pass.

I'll try that to night.

I really regret flashing my dreamcast memory now.-_-

haha thats almost exactly the way my "ghetto" arcade looks with my stick setting on my keyboard drawer and almost the exact same desk but sometimes I use my TV out to play on my 27 inch TV which is quite nice with MAME. I need to build me a real cab but ya need money to do that and well I have none

Yeah, I'm working on a cab for it.

I used to have a computer dedicated to emulation with TV output that I would take places and hook up to friend's TV's and such. And I had it's main output a 22 inch TV. But right now my better computer is my emulation system since I got bored and modded my other case...and...let's just say the mod got a bit...ugly.

And now I need a new case.

I had it still operational, but I had to gut a Regular Nintendo and solder the power/reset/HDD LED leads to the case leads. -_- So fscking ghetto.

and now the skeleton is of the case is dying. Oh gnoes...Heh.
