Actually, I would say it depends on the type of porn you are watching. Higher end studios will produce porn with plots, but a lot of lower end studios and even a lot of well known studios (Red Light District) simply produce films where it's straight up fucking with no plot. You compare a Vivid flick to Ghetto Booty Bangers #352, you will see what I'm talking about. The generalization isn't really accurate.

Euro porn is different not in the plot and settings... I don't really see that as one of the major differences. I would say the style and direction of the films is different. The lighting, angles, and general direction of the film differs greatly from what you will see in American films. I'm talking seriously here - just watch about 20 or 30 Euro titles and 20 or 30 American titles and you will notice what I'm talking about.
