Isn't there a way to fight Storm with magneto ? I mean, at evolution, you always picked Sentinel against Jwong's storm instead of magneto, is it really a bad matchup for mag ?

The best way to do that mag infinite is to use three fingers, keeping your thumb on lk. I only use two fingers for everything i do in marvel, except a rc lightning attack! hahhahaha. I think two fingers in that infinite is somewhat better for me because i have the ability to do anything after, because im still in the same position. not having to reposition where my thumb that is.

Magneto fighting storm is a tough battle for a mag that wants to attack. Mag can beat storm but the magneto player has to be very, very patient. And of course it's justin's storm, his storm is very tough to play against with a magnus. But when storm touches the ground, thats when magnus can attack and hopefully get a hit, crossup and deal his damge in one combo. Storm has the advantage in the air, so my advice is don't go after her in the air unless u are certain ur going to hit. But when i play storm I get jacked by magnuses all the time. It also depends on the assists each character has. I played sent on justin's storm every time because my magneto's assist weren't good enough. And I like super jumping into lightning attacks.

I think sent commando has an edge against sent colossus because when sents fight they are usually in the air and colossus's anti air isnt very fast. Just control when u send out colossus and try to protect him as much as possible, with mouth beams or fast stomps. If u do that the most damage colossus will get is a commando blast. But good stomping will beat sent colossus. Sorry! But that's my opinion, prrove me wrong.:D

Sents can be really cheap with low mouthbeams fly back fp. repeat. And if they sj dash forward fly back wait and time the fp again. If u fly fast enough magneto will have a tough time. oh yeah launch plus commando assist is good against wave dashing magnuses or anyone with a fast dash.

U cant rc tamara's. It's impossible

Don't forget, everything changes when a player is either defensive or offensive.

-- I would have used team mag/cable/sent in that order. First of all i would be attacking him from the beggining of the match. Watching for doom and calling cable when I see him out. All I need is one clean hit with magnus. Once strider dies, its pretty much cable defense the rest of the way. But, the longer strider stays in, the lower my chances of winning are. Don't get me wrong, that team is tough. Make sure you don't get frustrated with the cheese, though, thats when u get in to trouble.

-- Yes it is worth learning. It's very damaging and very useful in sentinel fights. When any character sjs, u can follow them up and do the COMBO. It's very safe because ur going up with the lk and then flying afterwards. Especially when mag or storm sj then dash forward, the COMBO is applied. Thats not a show off tactic either. Thats how I play my sent! And crossups also!:evil:

-- Yes, but they are semis. Until sents fly juice runs out. Heres one in the corner without unfly, but it's very hard. I can only do 3 hits. I don't even know if it's an infinite.

While flying and opponent is on ground.

fk, unfly, fly, fk, unfly, fly, fk.....

When opponent is in the air.

fly, lk, fp, unlfy, lk, fly, lk, fp, unfly, lk, fly, lk, fp.....

You can also do infinte shorts, like fifteen of them. While flying.

lk, unfly, lk, fly, lk, unfly, lk......

Heres a cool combo too.

Launch in corner, lk, fly, lk+magnus, fp, unlfy, on the way down, lk, re-sj, lk........ then anything u want.

I'm not RowTron and'll probably NEVER be anywhere near his level but, IMO, probably when the opponent really close to the ground, but still in the air, and low enough when the regular j.lp->j.hp XX AHVB would whiff at the j.hp.

Coming from a spectator's POV, it looks to me Rodolfo really wants his UnFly mode bad. I mean, he doesn't neglect it at all, he uses it rather well, watching him in the videos with him vs Kuan at ECC is a good example, he did that one fly LK, unfly LK, refly LK. And in aiding Sentinel rushdown, UnFly blocking is probably really important. I mean, would you want to get hit by an AHVB while in a mid air battle with Cable? I think not!

Wasn't Commando the last guy you had alive at the Grand Finals at Evo. When Justin left the game and threw his hands up in the air and there was like 13 seconds left, why didn't you just walk up to his characters and HK Glitch throw? Isn't 13 seconds enough time to fully drain 2 characters?

nah, there was like 4-5 seconds left and comando was down to 30-40 % of his life and he had to fight justin's whole team, storm was still alive.

I could've sworn there were still 4 seconds left when RowTron left the machine after doing a couple J.HPs. I didn't count Storm since she had like 3% health.

Mag-A and Cable-B are weird property assists...since Cable/Mag-a have that unescapable guard break (with several variations), and Cable's AAA can trade off with everything...except for Ken.

The best way to think of it is too watch Magneto fly a little above his opponent, then dash down, this is the only key part to monitor. Or you could wait a tiny bit after Magneto does the sound for the LK.

-- That team is pretty buff. In my opinion, I think this team beats sent/cable/commando. Well i think in order to beat that team, u almost always have to have a rushdown character. Killing cable as fast as you can, or just killing him with ur first charachter gives u almost a free win. Doom commando isn't all that great. So my advice is, rush that shit down. Man I should start playing this team!!!! hahaah

Then manage to get urself right on top of his head, then do a jab reland.... ...However, only do the rejump part, if u are already in the air and are about to land. Sometime, opponents start attacking right when cables about to land. Thats when u jab and rejump. U can also do jab, short, fierce, super. If they are too low.

-- In my opinion, it's very important. Attacking with sent when u have unfly is much more funner to me because it looks like sent is crazy. And also unfly is very useful against storms who do hailstorms alot. But seeing kuan play sent made me realize u do have to normal jump, even after getting hit in unfly. In instances when you need a crossup to deal damage. In a matter of no time u'll get unfly back. But knowing when u have and dont have unfly is very important also, but not vital.

-- Proper grenade placing. Placing grenades to explode right on top of your head is very important. It acts like an anti air. And of course if that hits, you can sj and lk, lk grenade again. Double grenade combo. hahhha. Also lp viper beams are good also but not on the ground. Instant lp viper beams. And after that, when mags try to wave dash to you, wave dash at almost the same time and fierce kick em. Then u know the drill after that. Calling out the mag assist too is very important. Killing a good cable with mag is very hard. Coming down from a sj with jab works well too.

Oh yeah in case u guys didn't know, after tech hitting the person who tech hitted, can be guard crushed. For instances cabl versus cable. One sj's the other throws, but it is tech hitted. The person who tried to throw can do a fp on the way down, then wait a while and instant. I didn't know this for a while either.

So. I think I have a little bit more figured out. Maybe. In portland you once said Damage helpers more. ex.Rocket punch assist. I'm going to go out on a limb. It seems that when you play Mags you don't have a helper for blockstun cause you don't need one. Magneto is fast enough on his own. If the opponent calls a help ex. doom you'll call cable if opponent calls other type of helper ex. commando then you find a new way to sneak the RP assist in there while postitioning yourself with magz for the point char. and/or doing more damage to the helper at the same time. Was that worded ok?:rolleyes:

With sent on point to runaway Storm do you do upward Rp's with the Cable assist. Reccomend flying high/low/back and forth(tricky:p ) constant cr.FP XX laser . . . . or just read their mind?

If you see an opening, which can be anything, you rush that shit down...another good opportunity is after your AA hits...if you've got Cable-b, that's a real good time to start rushing, cause if he trades or hits, they get knocked into the air, and when they come down, just start doing shit.

And yes, after you do the fly, you gotta tap a direction + lk to make it work

-- I recommend you giving chase by super jumping fp, lp viper beam. Only when you are full screen and in cases when you are losing. Then wait until shes about to reland, then call out ur anti air and then instant lp viper beam again. Don't get too close to storm when u are in the air. Because all storms are waiting for is that one hit. When storm starts attacking this is when you have to block for your life. But since you have bars saved up, use em when u get the chance. If u have an anti air like commando, just get under storm when she super jumps and call him out. You can't really be punished and it's a free point of cheese. Rat says he likes it when storms run away because they aren't hurting you. hahahhahah. I guess that's true. Be patient. Too bad I'm not.

-- Whose on point? Well, all three charachters compliment each other very well. When any charachter is on point, no one assist is left unused. When I play this team. I like to stay active. Making it look like i'm doing something every second of the game. It makes it more interesting to watch. One thing to do with this team with sent on point, is to crossup whenever u get the chance. c.lk, s.lp, fly lk+mag assist, fk, unlfly mouth beam super. If it hits and ur fast enough, all hits will connect. If they block the first set of hits they might get hit with the fly lk. When opponents sj, and ur sent on the floor. Wave dash and call magnus right when they are about to land. Make sure you get on the other side. If mag hits or not launch air combo or fly and continue stomping. I can go on for hours, theres too many things you can do with this team. Oh yeah ummm cable magnus guard crush. Call out mag assist then c.fp, wait a while then instant. If u almost are certain they are going to push block or take the hit. Dash call out mag, jump fp, fk. grenade. Use magnus almost as an anti air too and sent projectile as a 1 second shield.

-- Storm/sent/cable is a good team but i think the problem is that cable as a last charchter isn't good at all. He's almost always going to be alone without any assists because once storm dies and the opponent has cable on his team second. Cable will kill sent. Then it will be cable assist versus cable alone. Another problem is that storms assist doesn't really help out sent or cable. It's way too slow and almost doesnt set up anything. It's not very combo friendly and doesn't hurt very much.

I think the best anti air for that team is commando because it makes all combos 10 percent stronger and covers space soo much. The only problem is that it can get countered easily. But if u are good enough, getting countered isn't really a problem. There are ways to get around it.

I would always use commando!!!:evil: :D :evil:

-- Sorry man, I missed this question. For fun teams I use mag cable sent and sent cable mag!:D :D This team is too fun for me. I get to play all three characters with bomb ass assists the whole game. Even if a charachter dies the other two still work well together. And when I do pick another team with better assists but one of my players have to be takin out. I just get beat down by kuans sentinel, rats magnus, and codys storm. Scott doesn't beat me at all!!:p Once in a while I play msp and cable doom teams. Thanx for the alot info... I am alot better at blocking Magneto than couple weeks ago... Storm still gives me problems... especially when they do multiple hits w/ her float just off the ground. I guess I am too use to blocking one hit high... and then automatically ducking. Damn I wish I didn't suck.

White Knight played terrible, he lost to ppl that don't even play half as good as him. But in my opinion, WK was one of the top 3 or 4 best players there(not from the way he played, but from the way I know he is capable of playing). Man, Just say he chocked, that's understandable and respectable to me. It was his first tournament of that size and magnitude. I know lots of really good players that I thought would go very far that will tell u they chocked. It happens.

Good point there, I can brag about some rudy poo guy that owns everybody in a random location too, but the problem is that WK didn't play against any of the US top players. He sure is a great player, but I don't think he's up with those top3 players. You can't really judje how good a player is simply by watching his matches or vids, you have to play against the guy to test your skills, I mean, when I watch Sin play, it makes my sentinel looks on crack :p but does that mean I'm better than him ? hells no. I know this is for Row, but id like to reply as well.

Normal jumping tri Vs. Super jumping tri jumps depend if you are trying to crossover or overhead.

Normal jumping: Better for overhead since most people will try to block high if they see a superjump splash (like shadyk said). I seen Nismor and lots of people get hit by that shit because most of the time they look for the sj. splash. If you try to do a normal jump crossover, your character most of the time wont turn around, so you will be just wiffing the hit behing the opponents character.

Super jumping: For tri jump crossovers, they are better because your character -does- turn around. For just overheads, like i said most people will try block high when the see the sj. splash, but it is still pretty fast so some people wont be able to react fast enough to block and shit.

They are both good, fast, and pretty useful, just try and mix that shit up in game play.

It's really fucking closed minded of west coast peeps to think that just cause we aren't from your area of the states that we suck. I haven't won a fucking national or been to one, but I have been to SHGL and played pretty well. I don't have time to devote the stuff that you guys do to these games. I haven't won a national, and on the scale I know I can't hang with the top players, but you guys writing some of these other people off because of their region is fucking ridiculous. We'd love to have an ECC in the south, or an Evo, but right now all we have is final round. And the comp is always good. If I recall Arturo came down for FR4, and about 100 or so people came to play. I'd say that's a pretty good turnout for a place that isn't recognized like Cali or Seattle.

I know about the proving thing to, but like I said, distance is a big issue for a lot of us because to travel that far requires a lot of money. A whole bunch of us were planning on going to Evo but nobody could afford it. All I'm sayin is that all of us in the area have caught that elitest attitude from a lot of people and that shit gets damned annoying, as I'm sure you can imagine. hey Row, how would you beat a good cable player like you with Sentinel ?

Also, how do you beat sent/capcom with mag ?


-- In my opinion I think sentinel loses to a good cable player, especially when he has bars. But when cable doesnt have bars thats when having a fast sent helps. When cables super jump, try to wave dash under him and super jump fierce or throw. Holding up when u fly helps sent dodge sj bullets by cable. With this in mind, trying to get close to cable is what u want to do. Practice crossups that'll turn into fifty percent combos. hurt his assists as much as you can safely. Watching what the cables pattern is, is also very useful. And keep in minf that you don't want to have a long range battle with cable.

To beat sent commando with mag. U have to try to get under sent and infinte him. Once in the infinite try to kill sent with throws crossups into another infinite. Remember that if they tech hit a throw, they can be guard crushed. For example you infinite sent all the way to the corner. Then he gets dizzy and twirls all the way to the top. With mag you can sj. the fp throw. If they tech hit, dash forward and lk lk hyper grab tempest. If thay do get thrown, do the infinte again. It really depends on what kind of assist mag has and what person sent has second. It really changes if the mags have tronne bonne, rocket punch, or psylocke assists. If the sent has a good dhc in as the seocnd char then snapping in commando doesnt help very much, but if they don't snapping in commando is a good idea. Sent commando is just to defensive to beat really often with magneto.

ive been trying to figure out a solo Storm Relaunch combo, but i just cant seem to get it. ive done it a couple of times, but the timing seems too strict, ive only got this to work about 2x.


-- There is another one but it is very hard. Cody's the only one that can do it, but it goes like this..

launch with fk very close, sj. fk dash down forward, short, relaunch with fk.

I was doin his sj infinite and got around 40 hits and then i was in the corner and when I went to ad d/f i threw with fk did lk lk and when I went to sj back into the infinite they dizzied out. Will it always do that when I reset it around that many hits?

-- If u hit a person with consecutive hits without having a pause in between. (3second pause) They are likely to get dizzy after 50 hits. So if u do a infinite to 40 then manage to cross them up and infinite again they will probably get dizzy at around 15 hits. There wasn't a long enough pause to reset the hit count. I'm not sure but that's what i think.

It's not a bad thing, but it'll most likely get u killed. Try running a little bit with storm, mags fine the way he is. I can't run with storm, it's too tempting to attack. I get boners when I run.

Shady explained it pretty good, but it's still hard to block when theres so many ways to trick you. especially in the corner where you can get thrown. Jumping straight up is faster the any other jump. In the beginning of a match, no one can hit u low if ur holding up.

I am still having trouble against my match up with Cable/AAA (mainly people like Cyc/Cammy) how do I avoid those damn AAA's and grenades? *when my charater is Storm*

Also.. any good tactics with Sent/Doom? Doom isn't your every day AAA, so I guess diffrent tactics are used with Sent/Doom..

k i suk and im still tryin to get that unfly lk thing i asked about a while back.when i see u do it i dont even see ur sentinel drop at all.but mine does.is it just cause ur doin it really fast or do i have to like tap a direction too?

fast stomp is too good...
like for example u do in corner launch /\ sj. jab-> sj.short xx fly
then u pause for a sec and hit a direction +short ->f.fierce xx unfly
immediate short etc....

of course after the unfly.. the short will only come out if ur in unfly mode... the short is immediate after the unfly... i hope this helps

its weird how direction + attack after flyin makes it come out faster ^_^... setsup wicked combos too..

Hey, umm i have some general questions about my team(Sent/Cable/Capcom) and i dunno if you know the dynamics or if Kuan would answer it but here goes:

Are fast-fly combos really integral to Sentinel's gameplay?

Air to air combat is very important to sentinel. I usually try to wavedash and sj with fierce or jab,jabXXrocket punch. but since i've learned fast fly combos from your vids and stuff, i try sometimes to catch people with [sj. short, flight, short + Capcom, fierceXX rocketpunch]. do you think it helps alot to replace the older combos(short, short, rocket punch) since they do much more damage? what fast fly combos do you see done with my team?

When to use short kick and roundhouse and fierce in stomping.
