View Full Version : Grading on XBL
Just curious as to how this works ;( 'Cause I've played against people who have worse records than me. Am I doomed to be a "B" forever? T.T;
(Talking about the live grade, not the grade after a match.)
Sigh~ I wish they would give better grades for Aegis Traps :*(
Remember that the grade of a player doesn't mean shit but if you wanna increase it just increase your winning percentage and your grade will go up [B,A,S,SS].

Rank means NOTHIN. End of topic.
PS: Just incase you were wondering, that little grade you get at the end of the match don't mean jack shit either.

yeah yeah, I agree that it doesn't mean anything and its nothing to pride yourself over. but these are the same people that brag about beating an SS player when they're a lower grade and complain that how some people aren't deserving of their grade.
the way i look at rank is it gives you an idea of who your up against. imagine if xbox live didn't have grades? you'll be playing everyone under the sun wasting your time if you're looking for a challenge or it'll gas your head up thinking you're the best player in the world. Thankfully with grades when I look for guys above me I expect them to play well and 90% of the time they're good.
it makes the game a lot more fun, and it gives you something to talk about, and whine about if your one of these homo players. And nobody can deny that.
however keep in mind that competing at offline tournaments are the real thing and thats something you should strive for - not online grades. use this game as practice when your at home as I do for tournaments. remember offline is different from online so play accordingly.
It all depends on how you look at it, some play for fun while MOST play to get better - which is fine. But don't insult grading systems and the majority of gamers that play to get better because you think its all about having a good time - please. yeah there's a handful that cheat their way up there. But thats why people like DevilJin 01 is always posting at these forums to expose them. Peeps like him never accept my invites. :rofl:
To answer your question - you'll never level down but if you keep losing if you will forever stay a B player - I guarantee that. Just look at the guy at 1st place, since he's lost half of his matches he'll never be an A or above even though he'd owned all the A's, S's, and SS's out there - thats just how the system works. It happened to me at CVS2.
If you wanna rank up fast; challenge people above you and keep winning all the time by playing your best with your best character until they quit.
To Devil Jin's credit ranks after the matches are senseless and the rank (or place you're in) is BS too cause that itself is just determined by how many points you've earned just by playing more games - its quantity or quality.
We've got some laggy ass matches Eish - you even laughed at me when i got caught in that aegis reflector at the end of the round :rofl: - but i fixed my connection - so u better accept my challenge. :karate:
Peace.
