I don't think there has been a game since Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition that has drawn in a crowd of over 10 people I remember back in the day in the eighties when I used to play as chun li and would start playing and one person would show up and then one more and one more and so on and so on until there were at least 20 people around and the machine had a coin holder and it was numbered 1 - 10 . You would look at it and it would be full and there would be one person that would be kicking every one's ass and of course he would be on the left side controller. I miss those day's allot the day's that people would not hit and throw , sonic boom and throw there was a creed we went by out of respect but that creed is gone when you play online with most people.

I remember back in the 70's when I would go to the arcade and play as Blanka and bite everyone's face off repeatedly. They would get mad and we would fist fight for real. I accidently punched some dudes girlfriend in the face cause he sidestepped me. Oh well, the bitch was ugly anyway.

Would be nice if there were some arcades in Sweden where you could play Third Strike with people :wonder:

Starstremr, why do you refuse my challenges when you host? You only accepted my challenge once in 3 months I've been playing this game online and you dropped on me after a couple of games...I didn't even throw you too, lol.

Cause you suck as soon as i beat you .. you bail come on take the win's with the lose's face it your a wuss you can't handle loosing. So come on use the brain god gave you and figure it out why would I waste my time beating you if your going to leave and not let me get the win.I know I use Chun Li allot but atleast i don't do the cheesy hit and throw and gay ass Bison torpedo untill some one use's it on me and low and behold it happens everytime I start winning with Chun Li. so many people have no skill they do the same shit over and over and over hit head butt with balrog , off the wall with vega , Bison torpedo, Not to mention the Gay ass Akuma crap Vampiro does. it takes skill to use Chun Li and allot of the other charector's. I DROPPED ON YOU AHAHAHAHA MANY AGREE YOU ARE THE FIRST TO DROP ON ANY ONE....

Umm, what the hell are you talking about I can't handle losing? You are the one that dropped on me! LOL. I only played you one time for a couple of games, and I didn't leave, you dropped on me after a couple of games, then declined my challenges afterwards. I didn't throw you, seems like you are the one that cannot handle losing.
You're a weak ass rank whore, and your Chun isn't even that good. Play Technical Monkey or Dream Theater to see how Chun should be played, but I bet you decline them too because you are scared of getting a bunch of losses on your record, lol. :lame:

First of all I have played Technical Monkey and yes he is good and yes I give him a run for his money and I have beaten him before so dude calm down. FYI we have played way more then a couple times and everytime you bail on me if I end up winning. The only rason I bailed on you is cause you bailed on me first. Not to mention there is only one person playing my account not 3. I wish I this forum would do poll's cause I would start one on how many people have had you bail on them.

05-10-2005, 01:22 AM
LMAO you're saying I dropped on you? First of all, you can't even beat me, so why would I drop on you. Stop making up shit. Do a poll on how many ppl I've dropped on? Dude, you are funny. Look through the whole bad games thread and see how many ppl have said BGs to me. Better yet, start a new thread asking who I have dropped on...
Comedy at its best.

I don't think so, I think starstr is one of the good guys. My matches with him are always cool and he comes out with good shit. I don't give a shit about what people say in the BG thread about him because the majority of the people playing this game on Live are mostly fucking annoying teeny boppy losers and a handful of older guys playing the game for recollection of good times from the past. A lot of the wankers on Live post here as well. Even NiceTimes and RetiredJerk read the forums. Think about it, everything is CE Bison, CE Guile, autofire Zangief/Honda or Turbo Ken, and most of them arent even doing anything skillful. I can only take so much before I start hating the way some people play. I only played you once (Afro21), our connection is always crap but you do turtle the fuck out in each match, and you got 3 players on your account. So what is the deal and who is posting on SRK as you? Anyway, bottom line is that starstrmr is a cool player, and definately not a rankwhore. I have played sets with him of 30+ matches.

O. Don, you can think whatever you want about starstremr, I could care less. From my experience, he's a ok player, drops on me, and refuses my challenge everytime I try to join his game. I play the majority on my account. I'm the DeeJay, Ryu, Chun, and sometimes Honda. My brothers play as Turbo Ken, Balrog, Turbo Gief, ST Ken, Vega, O. Sagat, and ST Gief.

ok my turn... i remeber people hitting the arcade machine cause they lost, i remember that one stick was always shit, i remember some machines that nly had 3 buttons....YES 3 BUTTONS, i remember tap throw people got slapped up and if he was bigger than you, you would take it and shut the fuck up, i remember peope saying allow me the round cause you no you can beat me anyway then they won the 3rd round and you would be pisssed, i remember the first girl i saw playing sf2 ce she was a dog to look at, i remember you had a rep in your local area, i remeber playing sf2ce then ordering a chip roll for 35p, i remeber playing at las vegas in the west end when it was the shit.
THE THING I REMEMBER MOST NOW IS ALL THE FUCKING DROPPERS ON LIVE WHO CAN NOT PLAY FOR SHIT.
big up to all my uk players with good connections and the hunger to improve even on live. As for the rest of the world......have a nice day

Ok. Here's a bit of trivia for you kids...
Chun, Blanka and the rest of the SF2 team (ryu & Ken excluded) werent playable till 1992.
The original Street Fighter had Ryu on P1 and Ken on P2. The only characters you'd recognise would be Birdie, Eagle, Gen, Adon and Sagat.

I think it was 1991, but close enough.
Gotta love everyone sharing their memories of playing SF2 in the 80's.

did anyone else have to arcade cabinets with the punch pads?
I used to go to an arcade in Southend witch had 2 huge pads for the original SF game back in 87. The harder you hit it the stronger the move.

I think 1991 is correct.

also regarding the first sf and the punch buttons:
Street Fighter made little impact when it was first released. However, it had a novel control system which involved a joystick and two large hydraulic buttons, where the force of the button press determined the strength of the punch or kick, with three varying strengths of both punches and kicks. Many of these machines, because of players' tendencies to hit the buttons too hard and damage the controls, were retooled to using more traditional buttons, thus giving way to the six-button layout that would be the standard for Street Fighter games to come.

I can't believe people here of all places are still complaining about things in this game. Granted, if this was Gamefaqs that would be a different story. Who cares what people do let alone pick. If someone wants to pick the same character 50 X in a row against me, more power to them. I could care less really. Should my opponent decide to even use autofire or a programmable pad, fine by me. Like I tell the kids on Kaillera, "you do whatever you NEED to do to give me a good match." If my opponent wants to hinder his/her training by using autofire, so be it, I will still get around it regardless. At the end of the day, I want the best/most competitive match possible. If you need to use a certain character (even CE Bison) I most certainly will not complain. Akuma is the only character I will play limited sets with...but you will never hear me complain about someone picking him.
To me, this game is perfectly fine...with the exception of that one mode. What's it called? Ah yes, Super Turbo.

New Skool as well. All SF post SSF2 is NS. Attribute that to elements like supers, techs, and juggles apearing in games under the banner of "Street Fighter" in the post SSF2 era.
