Question for other ppl out there who use the Magicbox converter. Do you guys experience any kind of input lag?
I experimented w/ it today and couldn't feel any. I was convinced it was perfect for the longest time until last night me and my friend were playing Midway Arcade Classics Vol. 2, and there was MAD lag. Like, at least half a second button delay. It happened in MKII, Total Carnage, and Narc. Now this has me worried.
Is it possible for certain games to lag w/ the Magicbox and certain games not to? That doesn't make any sense to me.
I continue to use a magicbox when I play 3rd Strike and I can't personally notice a difference. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be greatly appreciative.

I've noticed in great connections, the Magic Box has little to no input lag whatsoever, but as soon as there is an unstable connection, it seems to lag up more than a standard compliant Xbox controller. I've had almost 2 seconds of input lag in these instances. What controller/stick are you using the Magic Box to convert?

Well I'm not talking about online play, but off. Like I said I can't notice any w/ 3rd Strike, but w/ Midway Classics there is a ton, and I just can't understand how it would lag for some games and not others...
I use MagicBox - Sega Saturn controller or MagicXbox + PS2 Saturn controller.

Given that there is plenty of hard evidence of various other games and convertors being incompatible with each other, it seems entirely likely that this is the case for the Magic Box and the Midway Collection. I would guess that the lag has something to do with the games likely being arcade ROMs running on an emulator and not actual ports, meaning that the emulator is already trying to convert all of the xbox analog signals to digital, so if you're using the convertor to go from digital to analog and then back to digital again, who knows what the hell is going to happen along the way?

Magic box = 100% lag free games on SFAC and CVS2 on or offline. If there's lag online it's cause of the connection not cause o magic box. It works fine on my modded xb too, all emulateors ie mame, kawa x etc work perfect with it.
Dream box = good only with a ps2 pad cause of head phone support, I've tried a Hori RAP on the dream box which causes the stick to go into random fire mode (random not auto), also if you hold down on the stick it sometimes goes to neutral for a fraction of a second.
Joybox = piece of poo poo, good only if you like the psone pad, if you use a ps2 pad you have to press the buttons real hard for the to register.
IMO magic box is the best all around convertor, any stick with a ps2 pcb will work fine on it. The svc chaos stick only works on it if you plug a pad in first (bizzare), if you plug it in first you have made input delay.
Also there's a lot of players out there that dont use magic box adaptors and dont even know that they are playing with input delay, random fire etc. LOL (i have come across a couple)
