GGXX and GGX are very different from each other, while #r and slash are just tweaked versions of the GGXX engine.

hey that was back in the 90's and the 90's was a different time compare to the time right now.
Im starting to definitely get irratated by Sammy doing this kind of crap with their fighting games. Besides this Guilty Gear XX2#Reload version 2 Slash, sammy is coming out with 2 guilty gear titles for the PSP and DS. Just like the dynasty warriors upgrade version, I dont know which version of guilty gear to play anymore just like virtual fighter upgrade.:sad:

I guess I can relate to the "wanting a new game" thing, but ... in all honesty, I'd rather take another tweak that plays perfectly for 2 years then a NEW game that needs to be tweaked because they gave a character bite infinites or 100% dizzy unblockables...
That's just me, though. :(

The confirmation email thats sent by RC, works most of the time. (there are plenty of people who have had no problems signing up)
However from time to time, one of these 3 things happen:
1. your email client thinks the Confirmation email is SPAM, thus it either blocks it, sticks it in a junk folder, or you don't get it at all.
2. Romancancel fucked up and failed to send you an email (unlikely but possible)
3. you suck at the internet.

Actually this is the 4th revision to GGXX.

GGXX #R Red (amazingly how everybody forgot about it, but then again it sucked ass)
GGXX #R Blue (the standard or was the standard, it's also the version used for the consoles and PC)
GGXX #R/
If #R/ fucks up in anyway like #R Red, expect them to make a #R/+ or something.
And GGX1.5 was just an atomiswave port of the naomi GGX.

my char was not getting gimped out.
now to cover the second, yeah hes getting balanced, yes probly will help game over all, yes i dont give a motherfuck and i would actually like to be able to play the char that i like and not some dandy that just has the smae sprites as the original and a few similar moves, if i wanted that i could just play

I saw the vid again to see if at least getting hit would stop it from triggering, but it still goes on. Not only that but it hits for 2 when it comes from above.
Ky needed a faster Stun Edge so most of his ground strings can end safer.
ACSE looks crazy, but I'm still not sure how that will turn out. It looks like it goes by way to fast for it to give any pressure game on wake-up. But with ACSE I wonder if they took out the ability to give FRC Ground CSE to be put in the air.

Only one that needs new tweeks is Chipp. Maybe they'll make it so that he can take 6 hits before dying, instead of 3. And I hope what they said about Eddie's j.K getting toned down is true. That thing's bs...

I dont think kys fireballs were anything that needed improovement more so then all his other crap. ALso I dont see how his fireballs are safer when you forgot to mention the fact that they all have more recovery at the end of them now. PLUS since its faster thus hitting makeing the opponent block it faster, the recovery will seem even longer if its blocked from say a farther type string.

The Game Itself
- The title is now Guilty Gear XX Slash, with the #Reload being dropped completely.
- There is a new background, it appears to be Order Sol's stage. It appears to be the interior of a castle or cathedral, with statues on either side of the fighting area and a large window in the center background, where light shines in.
- There is now a version of the Japanese colony which appears to be during the morning with a generally green colorset.
- Zepp is now flying low through clouds.
- Dizzy's stage is now at fall time. (?)
- Various new alternate palletes. Robo-Ky now has the MKII pallete as an alternate.
- New win icons.
- FD knockback has increased.
- Burst apparantly looks a bit different now.
- Not just with FD, but knockback in general is greater.
- Something about the priority for FD and throw input being different.
Holy Orders-Sol
- Of course, this is Sol from back during the Crusades, when he was a Holy Knight. He wears his Sacred Order uniform, as seen in several artworks.
- He doesn't weild the Fuuenken (Fireseal Sword), but rather a different sword, most likely the one from the various artworks of him.
- His portrait is in the center ring, just below Sol and Ky's, where the "XX" placeholder portrait was in the previous loke test.
- He doesn't yet have his taunts or winposes, apparantly.
- His IK is apprantly all new, but I'm guessing it could also be his IK from the original GG, as he seems to be a throwback to the first game in a lot of ways.
- His stance and most of his normal moves are about the same as the standard Sol, but a few of them are different. His JD is a kick of some sort, and some other moves changed too...
Charge Guage
Order-Sol has a "Charge Guage" in addition to the Tension Guage, which is situated just above the standard Tension Guage. This works in a way similair to the the original GG's guage, allowing him to build the guage and, in turn, power his attacks up. The attacks can be powered up to at most three ranks higher. Using these higher-powered moves consumes the Charge Guage.
Special Moves
Block Head Buster :: 236+P
- Physical attack technique similair to the body blow in Tyrant Rave. It's like a short-range version of Fafnir, and causes the flame to leap a short distance from the blade's handle. At higher ranks, it can reach halfway across the screen.
Gun Blaze :: 214+S
- Like the sliding part of Grand Viper, with a fairly short distance. Sol slides forward and a column of fire erupts where he passed, damaging the enemy with his "trail". At higher ranks, it has additional hits, more like Grand Viper.
Rocket :: 236+S
- Technique like a low, long-distance, rushing Fafnir. It has additional hits at higher ranks.
Storm Viper :: 623+S (Air OK)
- Like Volcanic Viper, except it doesn't go as high, only as high as a S VV. As the ranks increase, it adds an additional attack and knockdown.
Bandit Revolver Prototype :: 236+K (Air OK)
- At rank 1, it only does one hit, but as it gets higher, it does more.
Charge :: 63214+D (Hold Down)
- Sol poses and yells, filling his Charge Guage. It's pretty slow though.
Action Charge :: 22+D (After special move) (Air OK)
- The main way for filling the charge guage, you use it after special moves, like a combo. It charges much quicker, and can even be done in midair. Depending on how the special move hit the enemy (guarded, missed, etc.), the amount gained may vary.
- Works with Blockhead Buster, Gun Blades, and Rocket.
Charge Burst :: HS (During Charge)
- Consumes Charge Guage to perform a move like the Psych-Burst.
Overdrives
Savage Fang :: 632146+P
- Can supposedly be canceled during the installation frame. The higher your rank, the more flames that are released.
Tyrant Rave ver Ù (Omega) :: 632146+HS
- Only a single hit at rank 1. It gains an additional hit for each additional rank; 2=2 hits, 3=3 hits.
A.B.A.
General
- A.B.A is about the same as she was in Isuka.
- Her recovery time for transfusions needed for her to change modes has apparantly decreased.
- Because she hasn't really changed, I won't repost her entire movelist from Isuka.
- She has new win quotes against certain characters.
Instant Kill
Darkness of Ignorance :: 236236+HS
- No description, but it's supposed to be "shocking" and takes a long time.
- It can be done in any of her modes.
Sol BadGuy
General
- His infamous Dust Loop has been removed, as you all already know.
- JD has become more "stiff"? I think the recovery time was increased.
- Dragon Install now has a guage that appears when used. (?)
- Dragon Install maybe is weaker? It last about 8 seconds.
- Stagger at the end of Dragon Install is now shortened / non-existant.
- After VV, the recovery time is almost gone, you can move almost immediately after landing.
- Throw thing different, can't quite tell what it means.
Special Moves
Sidewinder :: 236+HS (Air)
- A midair punch similair to Fafnir. Causes wall bound, and can't be countered. FRCable.
Ky Kiske
General
- Launch angle for Air Stun Edge changed to about 45°.
- Greed Sever strengthened.
- Air Charge Stun Edge now FRCable.
- Throw is FRCable.
- Air throw now causes wall bound. Makes it easy to combo with.
- 2+HS is now faster.
- Horizontal movement during Vapor Thrust was reduced.
- 2nd hit in Stun Dipper is low. (?)
Chipp Zanuff
General
- Dirk (236+K in air) has sped up, and the angle has changed a bit.
- Gamma Blade quickened.
- 6+K CH is now quicker, stronger, and causes wall bound.
- FRC Beta Blade can't be followed up because of increased knock-back.
- Generally seems to be stronger phsycially.
- Alpha Blade may be slower.
And thats all he could get for now...

So, Order-Sol IS a completely new char. Interesting. So we get 2 new characters and some pretty major upgrades on the classics. Sounds like Arc is really trying to make this a worthwhile upgrade. I hope this gets a US console release...

Oh yeah, not only the FDC canceling for GGX, but also Johnny's Mist Trap and Millia's Disc Trap were gay. Yeah that and Eddies set-ups and Dizzy's insane combos.
Out of my head, I think the top five were Johnny/Millia/Dizzy/Jam/Eddie. And this is the first GGX version.

I think that guage relating to Dragon Install is probably similar to Eddie's guage. In otherwords, just a guage to tell you how much time you have left for Dragon Install.

Hmm, if Slash turns out to be really good, and has enough differences from XX and #R, I'll probably pick it up, since I skipped out on #R on PS2 (got it for PC though eventually), because I bought XX 2 months before they announced/released #R Blue on PS2.
Here's hoping Arc's changes are like what Sega did with FT to Evo. :tup:

Check out what FUBARDUCK found out at the GGXX/ beta testings.
Regular Sol's "go nuts" super might actually be good now. In addition to being super fast and having more big flame moves, the recovery time on it after it runs out (where he shakes his head) lasts probably less than a second. It's probably never enough time to actually punish him. Are they trying to turn Sol into Genei-Jin Yun?????
- Faust can bounce around on his pogo stick now, like Rolento in CVS2.
- Faust's item throw can now throw mini-Robo Ky's which electrocute the opponent on contact. I couldn't tell how good they were.
- Axl has a new air move where he twirls around his chain completely around him in a 360. I think it can be FRC'd. Bomber loop is pretty non-existent now.
- Sol's "go crazy and make big fire for a few seconds" super is drastically improved.
- Sol has a new move, its like a fiery kick thingy in the air. It looks like it sets up for juggles if you air combo it (has a lot of wall-bounce).
- Zappa is really good now.
- The sword is really really fast and good. Stand HS is the new best poke ever.
- HCB + HS with the sword can be combo'd into now, and it's super super fast, and also appears to hit crouching opponents now.
- You can actually do combos after an FRC sword uppercut now.
Zappa Continued:
- Zappa has a new air move with the Ghosts where he throws all 3 ghosts at once at all different directions. It basically lets Zappa get in for free. It looks really really good.
- Zappa's ghost moves have MANY more moves where all the ghosts hit (hard to explain--a lot more moves have the property that F+HS has in XX/#Reload where all the ghosts come attack, but they are triggered by multiple button presses). He can also do the F+HS move in the air now (all 3 ghosts hit, but there is a delay between them). It seems really tricky.
- The dog is really good again. You can start any ground chain into a bite with the dog, followed by instant air dash, continue combo to down + Dust dog bite, followed by a jump cancellable attack into an air combo.
- Dog can still do really big, ridiculous combos in the corner.
- Raou seems about the same, except for Darkness Anthem. It now goes INCREDIBLY fast across the screen. This is kind of bad, as it doesn't give time for Zappa to run up for a mix-up unless the opponent is on the other side of the screen running away (which is likely since you have Raou). It also seems to only do ONE (or TWO at most, depending on position) hits when the opponent is blocking.
- Raou still has his F+HS, fireball loop. You can now combo into it easily off an impossible dust without any RCs.
- Ky still sucks
- He will always suck
- <EDITORS NOTE: I DONT THINK ADAM DEATS SUCKS so i edited this
- Ky can FRC his regular throw now for his dumb combo
- Ky has a charge fireball in the air that shoots down-diagonally, but it doesn't seem too great
- He can no longer combo into stun dipper from chain combos.
- Robo-Ky's ground missile now moves faster across the screen, does less hits, and guard stun is much much less. It still gives Robo-Ky a mix-up, but he can't be as "tricky" with it because the guard stun is so little now. No one good picked him so I don't know if he still has his standard B&B.
- Johnny has a new move where he thrusts across the screen and then does a cool action pose. He can combo into it from a standard ground chain, and if the positioning is right, he can continue with an air combo.
- Level 3 sword move seems better, like you can combo after it now without an RC.
- He seems like a beast.
- Potemkin seems about the same.
- Random note: Potemkin is able to reflect Johnny's sword move (the one where he does a level 1, 2, or 3) with his projectile reflector thingy.
- I-No seems to have gotten beefed up.
- She has a chemical love that goes vertically all the way up and down the screen now, and it can be FRC'd with the same timing just like her regular one. You can make really big combos with it.
- Anji SUCKS!!!! Hahaha
- You can down block the butterfly now.
- The butterfly can be blocked while holding down back.
- You can hold down back all day on Anji and he can't do shit. Not like his butterfly will hit you!
Goddamnitt, I fuckin' hate Ky so much now.
Screw this, as soon as Slash hits I'm gonna have to pick someone else.

Well at least Alpha 2 had totally new backgrounds and added 5 characters... (or 7, if you count evil ryu and Shin Akuma, or even 8, if you count Cammy in the SFA2Gold home release)
And both SFA3 and SFIII:TS were quite different from their predecessors.
Arc System is just rehasing the very same game with more balanced gameplay and one new (and unoriginal) character every time. They could at least add more backgrounds this time. Or bring back the GGX ones. I miss them. Or some of the Isuka ones... If you're doing a rehash, at least make it worthwhile.
I mean, I'm not going to buy GGXX a THIRD time just for a clone of a character I hate with a passion.

Why did they have to rape Anji's butterfly quite so much? Was he really that broken with it? Doesn't seem to be any point to the move now (unless the butterfly does huge damage).
I'm not really an Anji player but that news does sound pretty shitty.
So if Sol's, Axl's and Ky's loops are gone, does that every other char's loops are gone as well? That would kinda suck I think

Most of the Japanese and Korean players don't use butterfly traps with Anji. Instead they use it to cause blockstun then do his instant high/low mix-up.
With knockback increased on block and FD, they probably thought the traps would be useless anyway.
Still, it is kind of stupid. Why nerf a low tier character?

Maybe they thought they'd turn Anji into a bit of a pressure character (with the new Fujin H), that allows him to deal a bit more damage at close proximity...if not, then yeah, he might just suck even more, or even have a dust loop like Baikens with the j.D FRC.
And her loop is still in tact, btw. :3

Actually the glitch was remove (unsure of this) but he is allowed 2 butterflies at once :wow:
Not only that but his new command 3P is now an overhead and it can combo in like testaments 6P.
Then he has another new overhead that leads after his 236+S/HS. It's a bit slow, but it 'cause the opponent to bounce and it seems he cannot recover.

Also, about the background and stuff... I'm really glad they changed some of the stuff around (changing the format a bit, revamp songs, new backgrounds)). They might be useless gameplay-wise but I want to play a game that feels and looks new to keep it from being boring.

There've been a few vids that've made it out, although none are very good quality.
Verdant's supposedly has a Fall season look to it now, was hard to tell from the vid though since most of it took place on the right side of the stage where it's dark.
The giant swirling portal-ish thing in Hell is purple.
Colony as you said has a greenish morning look to it.
While I've seen Paris, and it IS different somehow, I can't really tell what the differences are because of the vid. I know that whatever's behind the doors in the center is different. Looks very red-ish.
Babylon looks different as well. Possibly a morning,sunset, or foggy look, can't really tell but it doesn't quite look like the current version.
Not that it's as nearly noticable or worthwhile as the above changes, but the red circles center of the Character Select screen are blue now, not red.
EDIT: The music supposedly hasn't been changed, although I've heard Still In The Dark is coming back. I would imagine HOS will have a song, although possibly a variant of Sol's track, and A.B.A. will probably at least get her Isuka song, but that's just my guess.

Also, the Sol/Ky stage is now brighter, kind of giving a Justice BG look.
And ABA won't have her old Isuak song.
The song was actually rushed when they made it for Isuka. They just put a bunch of bullshit together and what do you know you got ABA's theme. So now they actually worked on the song (or so it reads, not 100% sure on this) and now it sounds different.

Actually, if you compare XX to Slash, it is a massive difference even if you don't play the series you can tell that much. The more I hear about slash, the more it seems like something of a new game, although I know it isn't.

You should see what they changed around with the kof chars in neo-geo battle colliseum. Even though I'm almost nobody to this forum community I think kof is a good series that actually does change things around a bit. It's just a little more based on having more chars than other fighting games I think.

If it's true you can FRC the ACSE at the point before Ky shoots it, it might be pretty useful for wake-up. TK the ACSE, FRC it and Jump to the other side of the opponent for a cross-up. If the opponent blocks the wrong way, then he'll eat the CSE, and if he doesn't, well you have free pressure or something.
I'm not sure if this will work, just trying to think of crap.

Slayer's stage that I suddenly can't remember the name of, has a yellowish looking tint to it.
And yeah, paris looks brighter now, lots or red in the sky backround, sorta sunrise/sutset-ish which appears to be a common theme.
The vids show Zepp, but I can't make out any differences, although I've heard it's "in the clouds". Can't see anything obviously different on Mayship either.

Why not do this with ground CSE?
Not only that, but ACSE goes by way to fast for it to even be a decent pressure game. And yes, you can FRC at the point before Ky shoots it, but it still shit.

edit: with the kof thing, they always add new stuff in each version. From charging super, to the type we use so often now. From easy combos, to BC cancel combos. To three one one one matches, to one match of 3v3. And then there was the strikers.
If you want to talk about which game had more changes, and felt MORE like a "NEW VERSION", it would be kof's compared to GGXX to GGXX#R. ANd slightly more than GGXX/R to GGXX slash. I still think slash is goin' to have a nice freash feel to it. Reload just felt like a bug upgrade.

Whoa, j.S has one hell of alot of range now. It was said that a gamer reported that most of Ky's moves now have longer range... I'm not sure about that but j.S does indeed have more range.
Ground CSE from Ground to Air glitch still works.
FRC Grab is gay.
ACSE comes out way too fuckin' slow. The move itself seems good if it came out a bit faster.
Ground Stun Edge does not seem to bad.
I thought the move were going to have alot more lag compared to #R, but it seems the suffer the same amount of lag.
