Mark Of The Wolves Tournament (07/10/2005)

[Nagata Lock II]

Last week was a nice start but there were obviously kinks that needed working out.

Game: Mark Of The Wolves (Set 1)

Date: Sunday July 10th

Time: 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time

Format: 2/3 Falls, Double Elimination. 3/5 Falls Winners and Losers Finals. 4/7 Grand Finals.

Server: Godweapon Server #2 and Le Server Du Vexorg (depending on who prefers which server)

All brackets will be co-ordinated through and IRC channel of my choosing on the day of the tournament and will be posted in here.

NOTES

- It was requested that boss characters be banned and I agree. Kain and Grant are barred from this tournament.

- There is a minimum 8 player floor and 16 player cap in effect. If there is a demand for more than 16 slots after this tournament's conclusion I'll open it up to 32 players on the next tournament

- The ranks from the 1st tournament will be used in this tournament. Any new players will be inserted at random in remaining slots.

I hope to see everyone that played in the first tournament and some new faces as well. :tup:

Boss characters banned for what reason? They are not cheap in anyway possible, they have no infinites or anything that really makes them broken. So why ban them?

Alright, it seems no one wants Grant & Kain banned after a bunch of people complained about boss characters during the actual tournament. *shrugs* whatever works.

If that's the case though, I'll have to insist we switch dipset to home (it's not hard for the host) so people know they're available from the start.

How do these online tournies work? Is there a 3rd person in the game watching the 2 go at it? And with all the lag, it wouldn't be that good. Some people know how to use the lag to their advantage, some people can't do certian combos with lag, and lag just sucks in every way possible.

If you play online, you have to deal with the lag. No point in bitching about it afterwards; you knew it was going to be there.

It's only 2 people in a game, nobody records, just be honest about who won.. it's just an online tournament.

And the players usually meet on an IRC channel which will be posted here.

I haven't used mame in a long time, but I can only assume that an ancient version will be harder to come by, and if it's necessary to participate it should be provided somewhere.
