So I just finished the first run through of 'Land of Dragons'; I'm playing on the second most difficult setting, and I'm finding it more challenging than ever before. Just like Kingdom Hearts, in most curcumstances, I need a strategy, as opposed to just mashing the buttons. For instance, the first with Axel during the Struggle competition took my three tries, as opposed to just the one in all my other run throughs.
By the way, here is the first avatar for biolink that I wanted to give him; I like it better than the nore recent one, but I'm having trouble making it small enough:

Wow...just...wow...

I'm currently playing "Fields of Hollow Bastion" and it's ALOT harder than before; for starters, at the very begging, you have to fight a slew of Nobodies that take of HALF of your health with one attack (specifically, the kicking dusks)
That took me seven tries; after the dialogue with King Mickey, there is a HUGE cutscene that was newly added: the scene with Xemnas(speculation) where he sists on the thrown below Ansem's computer room; I'll tru and remember as much as possible, so here me go:

Ahem,

An Organization member walks into the computer room and destroys all the cameras; he then inputs a CD which brings up a password screen. He then proceeds to type in six passwords, all of different length (some range from 8-9 letters, while others are 4-5)
A door opens and he walks through, which leads to the open computer area beneath; a sealed door appears below his feet, and he decends a MASSIVE flight of stairs; several sentances of dialogue appear, but there is no talking. He finally reaches the end of the stairs which leads to a dungeon area with MANY barred doors. he finally reaches the throne room which we all saw during the new trailor; he sits in the chair, and luminous lights appear; more dialogue appears at which point (and this is critical) the camera pans over to show an empty suit of armour lying on the ground with a keyblade protruding out of the ground adjacent to it!
What follows i yet another VERY long scene involing Zexion and the member with Blonde hair (not the girl, but the scrawny man) eventually, he leaves and an unknown Organization member (I believe it to be either Axel, or Xigbar) has another very long discussion.

After that the fight with Demyx occurs; he literally handed my ass to me three times, and I have still yet to beat him.

I also thought I should mention the other fight of the Organization members; I attemtped to fight Marluxia, and she beat me in FIVE SECONDS!

Anyway, apparently, some people are translating that large cutscene, so I'll post it when it appears.

Actually the first Kingdom Hearts final mix didn't really warrant bringing to the U.S. considering they only added one extra boss fight, two new keyblades,one new heartless, and that Deep Dive Another story movie.

This time around though we got a 3D version of Chain of Memories,multiple boss battles with the other Organization members,more cutscenes that add to the story,a boss battle with one of the knights from the secret ending,more difficulty settings,and a better secret ending.
To me this would definitely benefit SquareEnix to bring it to the U.S.

Finally got another email response from Square-Enix, though it's another response from the US branch (I doubt the Japanese office is gonna give a shit).

Long story short: I asked about a FM+ release date and, if it wasn't being released here, exactly WHY. The answer: "There has not been any announcements of a Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix in North America.At this time, we do not have any sort of an official reason why. We appreciate your business and hope you enjoy our future titles."

So, levelling up is much harder in this game, even for the Drive Forms; ever method used before (China, World of Darkness, Pridelands) has been altered. Now, I can't even find anywhere that has shadows so I can level up the Wisdom Form, and I STILL haven't found out how to level up the new Limit Form.

Try the Timeless River world. There's nothin but Heartless in that world. Thats how i leveled it up in the previous game.

For anyone who's interested, after pestering Disney Interactive about this (a NA release of the FM games), I got a rather interesting (and unusually detailed) response.

I asked about FM, they told me to contact Square, I replied saying that I had and that Square effectively told me that they don't have to answer me (which is true, but fuck them anyway), and here's what Disney Interactive came back with. It doesn't really answer much but the message is clear: they ain't gonna do shit.

I've started caring about the Organization 13 mushrooms; they're not as hard as I had previously assumed. I've finished about half of them. I want that crown, dammit!

Oh, and I haven't even come close to beating EVEN ONE of the Organization members in 'The Garden or Memories'; they make Sephiroth (who is actually pretty easy) look like a little bitch.

On another note, has anyone heard any news on the new game? All I've heard is comfimration that SE is working on a new installment of KH (no shit).

As far as I know, nothing at all. SE is doing ALOT of DS development this year, it seems to be their main focus. There are several titles for various other systems (like the up-coming Final Fantasy fighting game), but no mention of KH3.
Whatever system it's developed on gets my money; I'm just assuming it's going to be PS3.

I finally beat Zexion in GoM!

Now I have 12 more members to defeat...great.
I realized that 'Combo Skill' is really improtant because of the constant barrage of attacks coming at you; if you tech after getting hit, you're fucked.
The cool thing is, unlike Sephiroth, you can fight the Organization members over and over again.
I also synthesised the new weapon for Donald which looks like the sword Lexaeus carries; it gives him 13 attack but only 3 magic. It's still great to equip him with it. Now I still have to get ONE MORE synth item from the Mushrooms to synthesis Goofy's new weapon.

By the way, does anyone know the qualifications to getting the Crown on Sora's head?

Only theories and guesses on some KH forums. I've still only watched about 15 seconds of it, but people are theorizing the bald guy is the real Xehanort and he steals one of the knight's body, making him into the villain we know today. And the one that gets frozen looks like Roxas/Sora and something about all of the knights' names are Latin words that related to Sora, Kairi, and Riku's names. So basically yeah..no one really knows what the hell is going on!

There's actually plenty of solid theories and explanations, with Nomura Interviews confirming alot of it. What I can say, is no one knows the identity of the villian. It's more than likely, Xehanort, although its not official.

The Knights are entirely new characters. Their names are Terra (Terra is the one we have an Optional Battle (http://youtube.com/watch?v=yxfx1BloMD0) with), Ven (the one whom favors Roxas), and Aqua, (female).

The battle apparently takes place prior to the original Kingdom Hearts, aswell.

Woah, Final Mix + is sooo fucking awesome. Tons of new content, most of it for after the game's beat, to keep you coming back. Replayability just went up hella notches. The game still looks amazing, too. Also, I'm playing on Standard again, and once I swing through this, I'll do Hard and Critical Mode aswell.

The Japanese V-Jump reports in its newest edition on new Kingdom Hearts games. Several platforms, several games and, which appear to be on Nintendo DS and PSP. Further details are not present.


Though the screens in the scan look like a console... but not next-gen.

Cow's Observation:This game appears to occur just after the Chain of Memories and before Kingdom Hearts II,also, this is most likely not the rumored PSP game due to the fact that the aspect ratio of the screenshots are 4:3(fullscreen) instead of 16:9(widescreen). This could mean either another PS2 game, or a Nintendo DS game with prerendered cutscenes(like Chain of Memories). Hopefully we'll find out more at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show running from September 20th until September 23rd this week.

With the Tokyo Game Show only one day away, news is starting to trickle in from the Japanese magazines hitting stores this week. One of the more exciting bits is that Kingdom Hearts will be making a major splash at this year's show, with a full theater dedicated to the franchise in Square Enix's booth.

What's expected to be shown? 1UP has learned that the handheld machines will receive a majority of the focus, with new titles for the DS and the PSP on video (the PSP game is supposed to be a prequel to the original game, as EGM's Q-man predicted a little while back, and our assumption is that the DS game will follow Chain of Memories). However, there will also almost assuredly be a sneak peek at the next true Kingdom Hearts sequel, assumed to be coming to PS3.

Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show presentation is currently going down in Japan and we've got the first details on the trio of new Kingdom Hearts titles.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for PSP looks to be a single-player adventure in the vein of the PlayStation 2 iterations, though not "Kingdom Hearts III." Birth by Sleep's protagonist was not explicitly named in the presentation, but he looked an awful lot like Zack of Final Fantasy VII/Crisis Core fame.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for Nintendo DS appears to star Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II, but its main draw looks to be four-player simultaneous play using members of Organization XIII. It will be in full 3D.

Kingdom Hearts: Coded is a mobile game, likely for Japanese cell phones. It stars the familiar cast of main characters from the original Kingdom Hearts (Sora & co.) and seems to be set between the first and second PlayStation 2 titles.

Each title is said to have a time-related theme: Birth by Sleep is "the distant past," KH: 358/2 Days is "time of the other side," and Code is "time has gone by." More as it comes!

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Video begins by showing scenes of the ending of "Kingdom Hearts 1", Soon the text "Deep Past" comes up, to be followed by "Shut-Eyes gives birth to the concealed fate"

Scene cuts to an area featuring the boy who looks like Roxas, Ven, talking to a young male with black hair, the area seeming to be like "Hollow Bastion". The boy soon calls the young male "Ven." The scene continuously changes before showing the Old Man that is seen in the Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ Secret Ending.

The old man's name is "Master Xehanort" and "Master Xehanort" calls the young boy "Terra". Soon Terra summons the keyblade into his hand.

Soon some worlds are shown, such as "Olympus Coliseum" and a new world, which resembles that of Sleeping Beauty is shown, confirming it's existence.

The scene then changes to Terra fighting against the mysterious dark male, who looks like he's in a bicycle suit, also from the secret ending. Terra manages to knock off the helmet, but his face isn't shown.

The scene soon moves to King Mickey summoning his Keyblade. Soon the scene begins to change rapidly, and Terra is at a beach, watching two boys playing before resting his sword into the grove. The two boys soon begin to become more visible, and it looks like Sora and Riku playing at the beach.

Finally, Terra says..
"Please don't depend on me, just erase me...friend"

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
The trailer starts from the scene where re:COM ended, afterwards the words "The other side attached to Sora still sleeps" and "The mind comes back whenever they touch." The scene then moves to Twilight Town, where Roxas, and Axel are sitting on the edge, as seen in KH2FM+.

Soon the trailer switches to Roxas being invited to the Organization XIII, and introduced to them, which soon cuts out to another scene of Roxas joining the Organization for the first time. Soon the scene then switches to the King talking about Axel, and Saix with Roxas pulling out his keyblade, moving into gameplay.

The gameplay features Roxas fighting with other Organization Members in a multiplayer game. This one confirms the allowance of being able to play as Roxas, Axel, Saix and Xigbar.

The scene then switches to Xemnas talking towards other Organization members. Xemnas explains that a 14th member has joined the Organization, and the 14th member appears to be a female, wearing a black hood. Soon the title comes up as "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days"

You can then hear Roxas in the background saying "I will disappear from this world in 151 days"

Cow's Observation: KH:358/2 Days is an odd title as you could tell, but if you think about the story's timeline it might not be! Consider this: KH2 takes place 1 year after KH1 and Roxas' Story starts 7 days prior to Sora's(as far as canon goes it was 7 days). 365 days- 7 days is 358 days. So with that in mind it could be assumed that the story covers Roxas' point of view all the way to when he appears in Kingdom Hearts II. Now what still has not been accounted for is why it is called KH:358/2 Days... The "/2" is still a mystery. Just keep in mind this is just an observation!

Kingdom Hearts Coded
First thing that was shown, was the ending of Kingdom Hearts II, afterwards the text "The secret ending is solved, and the worlds still extend" Is shown, and then the words "Flow" is shown.

The video then officially begins with Jiminy Cricket looking at his journal, the words "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" pop-up. He then notices something he did not right in his journal "You need to return, to heal the wounds" Jiminy Cricket then rushes to report to King Mickey. Mickey who is startled by this only replies with "Only he is the one who can solve it." The scene soon changes to Sora standing in Destiny Islands, in Kingdom Hearts 1. However Sora only appears in the form of computer data that is being transmitted.

After the image, the game soon changes to a battle scene. Heartless are attacking, and the gameplay mechanic seems odd, as Sora appears to be moving pies of blocks making it a puzzle game in a sense. Soon the command "Debugging" comes up. When this command is clicked, Sora moves at high speed, and vanishes as well. The scene soon changes to Sora being in Traverse Town with Mickey (As seen in the latest scans) With Mickey saying "I was here on that day." and then "Let's speak truly"

Last week during the Tokyo Game Show, we reported that Square-Enix was releasing not just one, but three Kingdom Hearts games for multiple handheld platforms. This week's Famitsu magazine has revealed further information on the titles so let's check it out.

The first game, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for the DS covers the story of the character Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II when he joins Organization XIII. Director Tetsuya Nomura describes the game, "The meaning of the title is deliberately named like a secret code. Players will understand its meaning once they complete the game. The title also includes the word 'Days' which will depict what everyday life is like being in Organization XIII". Although Mickey Mouse can be seen as one of the recurring Disney characters, Nomura says, "Several worlds from the Disney animation will be in the game, but the way it will be handled will be different from the previous games." Co-director Tomohiro Hasegawa adds, "The worlds will be those from the previous series, but we will only include those that fits well with the story." The game will feature a multiplayer mode as well. You and your friends will be able to control Roxas as well as other characters such as Axel and Sigbar from Organization XIII. Separate from single player mode, here you will receive and complete several missions, some of which include puzzle-solving dungeons and boss battles.

Secondly, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for the PSP is based on the characters and world which was shown in the secret movie of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix (which was only released in Japan). The game is a new chapter in the series where the story is set before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game. Three characters Ven, Aqua and Tela will be the focus of the story, each having its own chapter. Although the game system (including battle system and multiplayer features) are still work in progress, Nomura cites, "Each of the characters have different abilities so the way the game plays out will feel different. Each chapter won't play out in order so players will need to choose certain characters to unravel certain mysteries and progress through the game. Among the new titles, this game probably has the closest feel to the previous games in terms of controls."

The third game, Kingdom Hearts: Coded is a game for cellphone services in Japan. A spinoff from the first Kingdom Hearts game, here, a digital version of Sora will need to recover the lost data of Gepetto and eliminate the bugs that is corrupting the digital Kingdom Hearts world. Players will need to battle the Heartless once again and stop them from spreading bugs. In what seems like a puzzle game, you can also enter into a mini-game (ironically) called "Debugging Mode" to eliminate these bugs as well. The graphics features a mix of 2D characters and 3D world, using specs close to those in Final Fantasy Agito XIII (also for the cellphone).

The three titles have no release date announced for Japan at this point, and we're still awaiting for news on its North American and European release. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I don't think the main team is working on any of these games. I think they're probably slowly working on KH3 while these games are released to keep interest in the franchise and maybe bring in new fans. The Chain of Memories team is working on BbS, the Chocobo Tales team is working on 358/2, and the Before Crisis team is working on Coded.

I guess this is the right thread to ask....

I am currently fighting Sephiroth on KH2. Yay. Anyway, I seem to have a bit of a problem. I am Lv 59 (dont laugh!), so I need to heal somewhat often in the later stages of the fight--I have taken him down all the way to the last pixel of life before, but I got sucker punched :sad:). The big problem is that I cant use Elixirs or anything that heals MP!!!! It has been like a year or so since I last played the game (before I took on Sephy, anyways), so I may have forgotten something. Currently Sora has equipped for shortcuts: Curaga, Hi Potions, Reflect, and Thundaga. Now, I have equipped Elixirs and ethers and regular potions, but they are always grayed out. Always. Even if I switch the buttons around, no matter where they are, they are ALWAYS grayed out. Even if I remove the Curaga or the hi potions, they are still grayed out. So, essentially, all I have to help are 6 Hi potions and a Curaga.... I mean, I do try to hit him out of that damned Heartless Angel attack, but sometimes I just dont get there fast enough:sad:

Any ideas on what this is? Or do I have a corrupted save file or something?

You don't really have elixers. You have the option of equipping them but if there aren't any in stock, it'll be grayed out.

Well, I just checked, and I have 12 elixirs, 10 potions, and 20 Ethers. I removed everything but the Hi potions and equipped them. All but the Hi Potions were blacked out....

My guess is he takes over Terra's (the guy who helped out "Sora") body at some point, because Terra looks a lot like the Xehanort from KH2. Ven (whom I'm assuming you mean when you said Sora) clearly represents Sora since he looks exactly like Roxas. And given how H-Ansem had no trouble taking over Riku's body in KH1, then maybe Terra has ties to Riku as well.

Square Enix is releasing RE: Chain of Memories on the PS2 in the US.


- Square Enix announced they will release the English version of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for PS2 in Q4 2008, for $29.99. The game is a 3D remake of the GBA version, with additional stories and character not found in the original.
