Friends list help

Hi guys, I got SFAC a few days ago, in the instruction manual it says there should be a 'friends' option on the XBL menu after I sign in, but mine just says quick match, opti match, create match, rankings and sign out.
whats up? how do I access my friends list?

try pressing Start

once you've made friends (invite friend request during play and the other party acccepts), simply press start and go to the friends option which will take you to you're current list)
