yeah, BGs. doesnt mean they have to cheat to get a BG. a bad game is a bad game. i got bored chaseing him around. i beat him in the set (badly i might add) and he left. and i dont blame the guy for BGing a duolon player. duolon is about 10 times worse than blanka.


a little tip against duolon. pick billy and just mash the punch button. the only way duolon can get around it is to super, and his supers give you ample time to stop the move and block, plus if duolon teleports into it, its an infinate because he gets caught inside it.

Bad games to Tenzo Hyo. After the first game, where I almost won, he wouldn't rematch me. Then, awhile later, after I did beat him...he wouldn't rematch me. Wasn't really bad games...just kinda pissed me off that he wouldn't rematch me.

Tenzo Hyo did the exact same thing to me; I beat him once, he wouldn't match against me anymore. I think he's a rank-hunter...that is, he only plays games he thinks won't endanger his ranking. I've seen other people who behave like that too.

Here's a hint: #1 doesn't mean dick if you're not willing to face most challengers, not just those who fall before your 'might.' The only people I refuse to play with on XBL are those who consistently show they know nothing but Fireball and Command Uppercut, and that's because they're BORING, not because they're 'cheap' (even though the characters who can use those strategies tend to be strong, just for other reasons)

Theoretically, "run away all day" is a legit tactic. In reality...it is, but yes. It's damn boring to fight against. Maybe if the Reflects in this game worked worth a damn it wouldn't be so bad.

I can't wait for KoF XI; my main team in that won't have any reflects, but my mains in that game have real easy ways to shut that crap down.

FighterX/KM313: Just so you know, network failures can easily be instantaneous. You can have a super-fast connection one moment, then NOTHING going in or out the next. It's unusual, mathematically speaking, but I've seen it often enough that I don't discount it as a possibility.

Bad game to "FLAWLESS KILLAS" -- That's a stupid gamertag, by the way -- for doing the following:

1: Picking Ash and K'. Both of 'em. How in the HELL did you get to be ranked where you are with being so scrubtastically typical? You're not even a GOOD Shoto/Turtle player...

2: Running away like a sissy the entire game. Yes, it's nice you can do Fireball then Uppercut, only to flee when I get close. It's even nicer to watch you do it so predictably that I chase you down anyway and land Running Threes one, after, another.

3: Really, really shitty color edits. Not as bad as some of the junk I see, but god. Your green + red color-scheme is ass. Ever hear of incremental shades of color? Or maybe NOT turning your characters into Christmas trees?

Tolgata: I understand your frustration. I certainly do understand; back before I decided to specialize in grapplers, I used to agree that Roll-and-Throw was harmful to gameplay. It's not hard to see why: It damages (not destroys, just damages) the typical 'poke/zone' concept as we know it. It is a generally strong move against what one would normally consider to be a strong defense. Or at the very least, a defense with few risks.

Consider this, however. Most KoF grapplers have very few other ways to deal with poke/zone. This does not necessarily have to take the form of fireballs, for reference. But in SF3, you can Parry your way through a poke-fest as Hugo or Alex. It may take a while, but ideally you'll get through. At the very least, you're (ideally) not at a net loss of life, and gained some super meter in the process.

In SF2, you have moves that (mostly) safely advance you towards the enemy. Zangief's Banishing Palm is a prime example of this, as is his Spinning Lariat to a much lesser degree. Many KoF grapplers lack either of these tools and must use an engine feature, Rolling specifically, as a substitute for Parrying or safe-advancement-moves. Tizoc's mask-peck does not count; it barely moves you forward at all, it's almost stationary. With a 60-count timer in default environments, I can't afford to sloooooowly peck my way over there. And if I jump, I'll eat an anti-air: Fireball/Uppercut.

Granted, my knowledge on this topic is relatively limited. Up until a few months ago? Up until very recently, I'd dedicated easily a decade of my life to 'mastering' Shotos -- with the AI as my only training partner due to a lack of a local fighting game community. For those wondering, no, I certainly did not succeed at that goal, as you can imagine the AI was not "good comp." My skill with Shotos can be considered decent, however...but it's also typical and boring.

That's why I switched to grapplers. I want to do something new that most others don't seriously pursue as their main style, but I only have a few months experience with the archtype. It's mostly a 'theory game' to me as I try things, study ideas, and analyze why grapplers are designed as they are. Currently, roll-and-throw is serving me well. Please, force me to experiment. Counter my R-a-Ts. You were doing so at some points in the match. I want to learn all the aspects of a grappler, but if R-a-T gets me past much of the typical zoning tactics I see, I will do so.

Okay. Tolgata? Hate to say this, but...you've got a poorly presented message, with an unreceptive audience. There's some things most of us here will universally agree are lame: using god tier is generally accepted as Bad Game-worthy, for example. I'll admit, Aldagod's style doesn't thrill me, but in return, others aren't too happy with my "Must...use...Grapplers!" style. So I generally don't Bad Game that unless it's "Run away like a damn sissy the whole match" style gameplay. Worst complaint I had about Aldagod was he dropped on me once, I believe; he's apparently vowed to change that behavior, so I have no valid complaints about him.

As for Setoshin vs. you...no. Setoshin would probably take you down, and for what it's worth, he doesn't use Duolon. He's usually found picking characters who have distinct 'high-low mixup' sets; Whip and Jhun for example. Damn annoying to fight against since it's a guessing game, but it's certainly not God Tier abuse. Setoshin instead seems "Sirlinist" to me as far as playstyle goes. He tosses up those brick walls Sirlin mentions until you get past it.

Oh, as for "who the FUCK asked for your input"? You're speaking on a semi-public forum. That means other members of the community are certainly at liberty to, indeed, provide their input, whether you FUCKing asked for it or FUCKing not. It's no different than standing upon a table in a library and proclaiming, "Tolkien was a hack!" -- You have as good a chance of other library-goers agreeing with you, telling you you're wrong, or insisting you shut up for being too noisy, and "who the FUCK asked you" wouldn't be a valid FUCKing retort, Tolgata.

told you the scrub would know who he was. out of the 9 people i played, he realized how bad he was just by my description. and the only time you even hit me was a damn random super or high low mixups on my wakeup. yamazaki beat me one match with 2 wakeup supers, then triped me on my wakeup. then triped me on my wakeup again. then did an overhead. you cant even do a goddamn combo. all you do with ANYONE when they get in close is trip, then run away or do high low mixups.

Nowadays since say oh.......Mid-Septemberish or so, there is a way to drop at the last second and the WHOLE SET will not count.

i.e. I fight you 10 games, the record is 7-4 in my favor, if you drop at the right moment it'll SAY that I won and just got 7 wins and 4 losses added to my total and you'd have 4 wins and 7 losses - but in reality We'll have NOTHING, the whole 10 game set would have never counted for either of us, no wins or losses for me or you.......I was robbed like this a LOT so have many others.

So next time you take a look at the rankings, look at the Win/Loss for the WEEK not to total, if somone has over 300 wins and 0 Losses chances are they are dirty dropping.

Okay I was going to drop the conversation, but ... If you gave up why were you fighting back at least till the last guy. Reason why I won was not because I used 2 moves. I hope you aren't that much of a scrub that a two move fighter would beat you. I beat you by speeding up the match then reading your movements. I made you panic and you didn't know where to attack. Typical scrub mistake. I used Phoenix arrow to start then switched to a reglular kick followed by foward kick then a sweep then heavy punch. Also threw in a fireball in between. I agree that match was basic. You also said I retreat. I guess a moron needs this explained, but if I can beat the crap out of you in the corner retreating from you is a measure of respect to show I don't have to corner you to beat you. Oh but that's right you need to do that don't you my mistake.

You neglected to mention as well that we were playing random battle again and we played 5 matches total not 3 (1 and a drop 4 and a drop). After you came back the first two you won then I won the third and again I came back and beat you in the forth and you droped. Seems to me you are a sore loser. I didn't use cheap tatics the second time and I made a comeback on the fourth match who cares I didn't mention that the first thing you did when you came back with Chang was DF LP diving slide like a typical scrub until I showed you it wouldn't work.
