I'm in Vancouver.
There's a bunch of greater vancouver area guys in the 604 thread in the Northwest forum (why they're not in the Pacific North forum, I do not pretend to understand). They meet up at the local arcades quite regularly I think.

Yeah you should be able to find it at Metro or something, Metro has Superstore, EB, Toys R Us, and Zellers for the games. Also there's a Futureshop at Station Square you could try there too.

I'm also in the Vancouver / Burnaby area. I cant even guess where there'd be a SF cabinet in good condition around here. Since the death of Lester's on Kingsway, its been hard to come by.
I wouldn't mind meeting up to lay the beatdown on some fellow Canadians if we can find a decent machine.
Feel free to add me to your friends list, so we can get some good no-lag games going.

For the guy that asked about KOF 2k/2k3 i just picked up my copy yesterday at EB in Guildford Mall. That game is really hard to find, try calling around the EB's and shit.
I suck shit on joystick so i don't really bother, usually play at RUSH in Richmond.

Fairly close to Netaholics if you know where that is.

I say we all meet up somewhere and just have a street figther 3rd strike tournament.
Johnny Z's sticks are horrible. Espot in richmond is too ghetto fob, and it's KOF mayhem there.
Toronto here. Played with my buddy in Vancouver and latency was perfect~ :encore:

all you elusive fuckers need to come to the 604 thread in the northwest forums and make your presence known so the next time we crush you, we could give you some pointers hahah.
Most of use elites usually play at Movieland on Granville or at Rush in Richmond. JZee's sucks cause i got banned from there, and since then, noone goes there to play 3s.'
Oh, and no, TO would cream us hahahaha. Me and Tao would most likely survive the onslaught for the longest tho, but yeah, we'd lose eventually. TO has realllly good players, but thats cause they've been playing like, a lot longer than us.. we are pretty good tho, and would provide them with a pretty good fight.. but i have a good feeling they would win in a team battle. it would be decently close tho.

k, if you say so. Way to knock BC's best players.
you play ST? probably not well i assume.
and yeah. TO is better than us, whether you like it or not.
One more thing, if you wanna fit into BC's arcade crowd, learn 3s or CvS2. Most likely CvS2, because I dont wanna deal with your tough guy type persona.

You can say Fuck btw.
And chances are, I am better than you at just about any SF game (with the exception of ST and Alpha, cause i suck at Alpha, and i havnt played ST seriously in years).
Pick a game, and a place, and we'll have a money match. Its widely known in BC that I am one of the best players.
Fucking Scrub. Learn your place when it comes to being new to A) SRK and B) Bring known in BC. If you want to prove something, put your money where your mouth is, otherwise, dont go around starting shit for no reason. You dont like my attitude? tough. BC players know it, deal with it, and we get along great. We're all friends here in BC. You wanna be different? i suggest you either shut your mouth, or show us that you're a force to be reckoned with. ST and Alpha and all of the other old shitty SFs are not played at all competitively in BC, so I suggest you learn one of the newer games. Or you could just hide behind your fucking Xbox.

Did I say jack about joining your elite crew of SF3 players? All I can say is that I hope the rest of your 'crew' doesnt constantly refer to themselves as the best in BC due to your 'ownage' of Rush.
I didnt say shit about being friends, and I didnt say shit about anyone other than your sorry ass that has claimed he is the best in BC for the last 4 of 4 posts.
You're one step away from referring to yourself in the 3rd person. STFU, do something unexpected, and in your next reply try to NOT refer to yourself as the best in BC. Quit your bullshitting and go play Top Skater.

FYI, old school SF ISNT the only SF.
and its called ST (aka Super Turbo). not oldschool SF.
I didnt come here trying to claim i'm better than everyone. I came here to invite you to make your presence known in BC, so the next time we play you, and YOU SUCK, WE CAN HELP YOU OUT INSTEAD OF THINK YOU'RE SOME RANDOM SCRUB.
Trust me, we have players who play ST who are better than you. ITs better for you to know them and be chill with them so they teach you, rather than you be some unknown random player and lose your money to them without learning a single tactic.
In otherwords, its better to be modest, unless you can back it up like me, than to be a jackass, like yourself.

Hi Depreciate, nice to meet you.
Please shut the fuck up and take Archer's advice, because he's a 200 (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, I think you're more like 250, Navid)pound brown dude who picks people up and perform backbreakers on them. He's also a very well known player. His local fame is well deserved, because he has never turned down a money challenge from challengers. He's also a tournament winner for multiple games.
Now go learn how to perform a combo that has a superjump cancel, dash cancel, 1 frame link and kara cancel. O wait, first you gotta learn what that even means.

09-13-2005, 02:36 PM
Okay, before I sound like I'm riding Archer's dick, I'd like to state that I'm also one of BC's elite and best players.
However, I see that you do not play anything outside of Super Turbo. In that case, come to Movieland sometime to get a Super Turbo beatdown from my fellow Team Stallion member Chris_F, aka The Stallion himself.

I remember this same shit happening in the Ontario thread. Random XBL players wanted to play locals online, then actual local players got pissed that people were playing online instead of supporting the city's scene. It didn't help that the XBL players ended up talking shit and claimed to be better than the offline tournament players.
It ended the same way this thread will too. The online player(s) never showed up IRL and the elitists flamed for nothing. Everybody lost because all people wanted to do was insult each other.

technically, the real deal is some Toronto fool (now banned) made a thread to face other local regulars on Live, i called out around 13+ Ontario Live regulars 3+ months in advance to get ready for T6 and only 1 3S player made an attempt to me and lost, i gave him his credit and told him to support the scene which he's now doing

What's the deal at Johnny Zee's, is there a regular crowd there or what? A time that everyone regularly meets there? I'll be in Vancouver from the 27th to the 31st of this month. I won't know when I'll be free from work until I'm actually there though.

DAMMIT! why didnt i see this thread before i went! >_<;;;
I was in Vancouver for 2 weeks, and got back recently, if i had even thought about it, some SF3 games while i was there would of been cool.
I was travelling all over vancouver and some of the places mentioned in this thread seem familiar such as Surrey, Barnaby and i went to loads of other places such as Metro Town, Grouse Mountain, Capilanno Suspension Bridge areas, Gas Town and Victoria (had to catch a ferry, looks exactly like a english city centre, but with massive roads). Great place to live and visit, so much to see and do. Although, one thing which is odd is that this thread seems to be pretty heated up, and while i was there in vancouver, has to be said...most friendliest and politest place i have been to ever. >_<;;;;
Anyway, Mikee, you will love vancouver, and i envy you for going now! One piece of advice, dont take so much luggage with you as in clothes, cos tbh, clothing and other stuff such as dvds are sickeningly cheap over there. £1 is like $2 Canadian, and most of the prices are the same, but the £ is stronger so you basically can get stuff for half price! While you are there, get yourself one of the Canucks hockey tops (they just happen to be one of the best teams too i think), your a big bast, so it will suit you. :clap: :tup: I bought one of those for $160 i think, roughly about £80 and it looked the dogs bollocks...but i forgot it at my cousins house. So will have to pick it up again next time i go to Vancouver. CANT WAIT. Picked up a shedload of dvds and saved myself so much money :lol: Although coming back through customs i was bricking it HARD. :lol: Got through fine though, wasnt stopped. :tup:
Change your £ into $ when you get there tbh, got a much better rate than at the airport. (but get some $ at the airport too, you will need it.) Although, obviosley CC can be used in most part, you do need some cash too.
If you can, visit that Metro Town, biggest shoppin centre ive ever seen. 3 floors and each floor just never stopped. >_< Saw a few arcades in there, but never saw no 3rd strike. This place you guys talking about outside of this shopping complex? Was absolutley heaving with people, you could hardly get a good walking stride as there was always people around you. >_<;
Hopefully you have time to go and sight see instead of being bogged down in work, as its a great place. I even found time to go to USA by crossin the border (took 5 mins!). Had to get out of the car, go into the border control office, give my details and stuff, and get my passport stamped and everything, was pretty cool. ($6 US fee...they dont take CDN, and i heard there CC machine is always broken so make sure you have some) :p Every person was also STRAPPED, so no one was making any sudden movements... :confused: just incase one of the guys on the PC was feeling trigger happy after a lunch time session on Quake III. :lol: Bellingham i think the name of the town i visited it was.
Yeah so...be nice to play some SF3 next time in Vancouver, Metro Town doesnt seem to be far away from where i was staying. Also, by the time i come back to beutiful Vancouver, i should be profficiant enough on an arcade stick. No more xbox burger pad for me. :encore: :tup:
God i miss Vancouver. :sad: ....IT HAS MOUNTAINS AND FORESTS EVERYWHERE...what do we have here?!...concrete blocks and road signs. >_<;;;
Oh yeah, Mikee, you got to go to A&W...why havnt they got that over here! Its like KFC, but without the grease! :wow: You can also get drinks in like massive frosted jugs! At first while with my dad we saw "root beer", he almost did a back flip thinking we could get chicken and beer in a fast food restaurant :clap: but, it wasnt alchoholic so he was kinda dissapointed. xD Still though, it was great. :tup:
A&W Bucket > KFC Bucket
Didnt have time or space in my stomach to sample the burgers, but i will do next time!
Ermmm, and in not derailing the thread, any of you Vancouver guys on xbl feel like giving me a game, add my gamertag up. :tup: Will be a bit rusty, but ill get back into it after a few games. Should be interesting, dont think ive played any of you guys. :tup: Oh, and i should be on the mic too. :karate:

nanitaberu - sorry for not meeting up with you man, I was either working or drinking (or both). The only arcade I found was one called Movieland or something, it was on Granville Street. But this was on Saturday, I was steaming drunk by that point and I had a cute fairy girl tagging along with me by that point. It definitely had Third Strike in it though. It wasn't a versus cab, can't remember what the sticks were like. I left cos Marvel vs Capcom 2 was making me feel a bit sick and fairy girl was moaning.
clearsky - don't think so dude. I was only in this arcade for five minutes, tops.
Oh yeah, also found an arcade called Lions Lair? Something like that? I didn't even bother with that one. I think it was on Granville Street, I always seemed to end up there. Might have been near Buffalo Club. Shame I didn't have more time, Vancouver is an awesome city - the girls are hot, the beer is cheap, even the tramps are friendly as hell. This one tramp just randomly drew my picture, ha ha, level up Vancounver. I'm definitely going back :tup:
Ha ha, Singho, your post was too late dude, I had already gone! You're right about the DVDs though, bought a truckload of really cheap ones from the HMV there - shit likes Chinese Hercules and Sister Streetfighter, $5 each!

Lion's Lair specializes in bemani games. They have two different Pump-It-Up cabs (one is regular size, and the other one has this huge ass 50 inch screen), two beatmanias, one guitar freaks. And then they have this one weird ass karaoke game that's in Korean. It's in this booth that has one of those recording mics you see in music production rooms, and a little screen that displays the videos. I've never personally played that one.
As for their other games, they have a couple of gun games: House of the Dead (it was either two or three), some samurai one, and Time Crisis 3. For fighters they have an Tekken 5 (it's $1 per game) in american cab setup, and one Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution japanese head-to-head cabs. And the rest: a couple of soccer games, a tennis game, two cabs setup to play playstation games (PS2 maybe I don't know), one puzzle machine were you can win the prizes that are inside it. Anything else I forgot to mention is probably not worth importance.
Overall though, if your looking for fighters don't waste your time there. Rush, Movieland, and Jzees have way more variety and are cheaper. The 3s cab at Movieland btw is american, so are the sticks. Also, you can't do unblockables on this cab btw, for future reference if you ever come back.
HMV sells DVDs huh? Now you got me interested in that stuff, especially Chinese Hercules. :lol:

Do they have kof XI in rush?
I'd doubt it. They got KOF 2002 though.
