Scrubs, take the time to learn the characters.

This is a big FU to all the scrubs that have to resort to doing the same move/tactic over and over again. The only reason that shit's working is because most the people playing are still learning these characters.
Shit like K's overhead that doesn't look like an overhead. Looks like a damn straight punch but for whatever reason it's an overhead. Then there's Mai's crossup bullshit over and over. Don't get me started on Ash.

I'm just sayin, once people learn your bullshit ways your gonna be left with nothing while everyone else has progressed.

all i ever play online is "K" [fire ball spam, run spam, flying kick spam, overhead straight punch OR HK sweep kick *mind game* :tdown: ], Ash, Iori, Terry, Kyo and the occasional Tizoc.

BTW i get hit by alot of "k" spam and other stuff because if i try to walk forward and a fireball comes out, by time i input the block command the lag wont let me block... especially with 02

To an extent, I agree with the sentiment. Now, if they WIN doing that (and they sometimes do, I'm still learning the game and playing Tizoc as my main...), then yeah, okay. It's a win. I'm just not impressed by it. Part of me wants to hook my headset up and just yawn whenever they pick K', Kyo, Iori, Ash, Duolon, etc. May start doing that.

Got me, red plague. I don't see how Tizoc can be considered particularly powerful compared to the rest of the characters listed. Now, as for Ash...he's basically Guile meets Remy meets Kain (Garou). @#%#)*^ annoying.

Ryudo: Nothing specifically wrong with using Terry. He's relatively balanced. It's just he falls into the 'Shoto Archtype' somewhat. There's just a general apathy against Shoto-or-Similar use. But it's not like you're being 'cheap' for picking him; he's not overpowered as far as I can tell.

Glad I'm not alone. I was going to explain myself deeper but it seems like most people are hearing where I'm coming from. I'm sure once I (and everyone) learns the common BS going around things will pan out. It's just annoying to see people stoop that low. I wonder if this sort of shit would happen if there was no ranking system.

Since someone asked, here's my current roster in order of my skill with em:

Kim, Yama, King, Yuri, Beni (Since I already know them - where the fuck is Vice in '03!?)

Whip, Robert (Cause she's a sexy bitch. Robert seems cool and not overly used)

Jhun (Seems interesting. I'm also trying to stick with chars that're in NeoWave)

this double pack is the first time i've ever played king of fighters, and on 2003 i've been using K' and Ash a lot, along with king and Malin.
i had no idea that those first two were considered to be scrubby/cheap whatever. although havent played a single match online yet though, and wont till i can at least remember the moves of a few other characters.

i dont think terry is cheap... except that combo they gave him as if he didnt have enough moves. If i block the first hit then by time the combo is over i still can get a counter attack off because of his spacing.

Tizocs all play the same for me. the jumping elbow or kick, i cant remember. I've tried all the normals my characters have and their moves dont beat it. I get the first jump in kick/elbow, then a 2nd if i allow them to make me block the 2nd Ill get grabbed. Then when he lands they smash C.LP which stops all normals then they jump in kick/elbow, if blocked u get grabbed.

If KOF would implement Parry it would be so much better IMO. This rolling crap is cheesy. I tried to play some 3S last nite and i was totally lost. Kept forgeting about my other 2 buttons, kept trying to throw with SP/SK, and kept trying to roll instead of parrying then punishing (of course when i tried to roll i did the throw animation which left me open lol).

I don't think Terry's a shotoclone at all. His fireball isn't nearly as big a part of his game, and his best (for that matter, his only real) anti-air is a super. It's true that Terry's a popular character in SNK games, but frequent appearances don't make him play like a shoto.

I'm too new to KOF to be calling any characters cheap. So don't get me wrong. My gripe is that it's lame to abuse the same shit over and over. Although I can't stand when I see Ash, I'm sure I'll eventually learn ways to deal with him, and Tizoc etc etc

I would hope everyone would at least do that. Otherwise we'll never attract new players to 2d fighting games. And that way you learn more characters as well. You guys don't want another case of Bison, Sagat, Blanka do you?

thats actually the only problem i have against anyone i play. im fine with all the 'cheap' tactics and characters and stuff, but i hate when someone uses the same team to rape me time and time again. if they change teams at least every other round, then things stay interesting

up until yesterday i was working hard to learn billy and king, and my 3rd charecter was my "new charecter" spot. but now that my A team is officially Malin, Billy, TL King, i can swap out my teams. ill definatly be useing to ralph, ryo, kim, chang, ash, K (not cheesy version), athena, and anyone else i take a fancy to. i want to learn jhan, but that asshole is hard to learn because he keeps changing his stance!

I'm starting to think that Athena isn't unique anymore as I thought of her in CvS2. She is considered top tier in one of the games, and I have been seeing how people wanna pick her up now (not trying to pick on loffter). My need to be different (not emo) is growing, and now I think I should learn another character. But who? DUN DUN DUUUUUN!

Any suggestions? I was totally thinking about mainly playing as Chris.
