*GOOD* Color Edit Thread!!!

Post up here folks that have good color edits or post up tight shit you've seen out in the field!

Props to Cybuster for the White/Gold Tizoc shit was nice, slamming my ass in style :tup:

Also Cybuster I can help you out with Gato's color if you like.

Mycah: Cool. Thank you for the offer. That'd be appreciated; I've got a very basic "white & gold" set up for Gato as well, not sure if you saw it. Problem is, his pants and hair share a palette, so...yeah. I'm having trouble making him look right.

My basic plan is to White & Gold colorize all my main characters: Tizoc, Mai, Billy, Gato, and maybe one or two others. Already got Tizoc and Mai down well...got Billy but he's more of a "grey and gold"...Gato comes out okay except for the hair.

Dragon Sama: Nice work but chill out on pics, you'll het this shit moved to IMM fast!

Cybuster: Try Black Pants for Gato it'll make the White/Gold Stand out, Just take the darkest part of the pants and make that 00, 00, 00 the go up by 2's or 3's for the pants (depending how dark your TV is)

Also that Shingo is fuckin' NICE as for Billy don't be scared to go all the way and maybe you're cutting down the color too sharply try this formula for Whites.

Mycah: Bingo, that did it. The Billy formula was off by 1 point each in RGB, but gradients of 5 are pretty much working fine.

The Gato idea was spot on though; I only added 1 point to one of the RGB formulas and you're right; the contrast helps without being tacky like I thought it would. Good stuff, thanks, man.

I'm not sure if this is a "Good edit", but it's a stupid idea that occured to me. I'm not sure if it's feasible or not, however: Take Shenwoo. Recolor his pants blue. Brown jacket. White shirt (if he even has a shirt; I forget offhand). Black hair. Rename him to "Shenmue."

Edit (9-20-2005): I went ahead and made said color edit. Pity I suck with Shen, but I get a cheap chuckle out of using this one online every so often anyway.

I'm going to start on my King of Fighters 2003 color edits later today. I see a lot of good templates for anime characters and I'm going to try and get about 5-7 done today. When I'm fully ready to take the game online, I should have about 50%-70% of the cast edited.
