So yeah Im a noobie. Anyone got any pointers on the game? Groove types?
I have found out a few things for myself. Im working on geting alot of the timing down right now. I was thinking about geting a stick. But right now Im playing with a pad. Any pointers are welcome. Im coming off almost 6years of playing Marvel. So its a big change for me. I love the game. I just want to get alittle better before I get on live and start playing.
Thanks

Don't practice before you get online since they are different and you'll end up bitter when your tatics don't work online. Starting off I would play N-Groove since its not easy to win with that groove (espcially online) and I would have atleast one "silly" character in my team (ie Dan, Chang, Ben, or Sim) someone that isn't TT. But if you the kind that want to go straight for C-Blanka,Cammy, Bison or A-Sak,Blanka,Bison then I guess its nothing wrong with that. If by any chance you want to play at a local arcade or local console tournament I would stay away from CvS2 XBL as much as possible. But if you just want to have fun with casual play then you should enjoy the game online.

One thing to remember online against opponents is that their first option is always to DP. You'll be amazed at how many DPs hit you when they are not supposed to.

My advice to you is not to start off playing on live your best chance is to get to an arcade and learn from some real players and then come back and beast on these XBL scrubs.

The guy is obviously asking for advice for online play, so why not oblige? To be fair about the whole offline/online thing, I play the game halfway decent and have never played this game in the arcade or at home with anyone else. In fact, I got my skills just by watching "Arcade Gamer Fubuki," random episodes of "Dinosaucers" and "Urusei Yatsura," and watching midgets on stilts participating in three-legged hurdle races!

Know your Anti-Airs, people online jump like crazy so you wanna be able to stop that shit. There is also no need to rush down if you have a life advantage. Dont throw too many fbs as CVS is a poking game.Be conservative.Oh and pick top tier:tup:

You obviously dont know shit about CVS2 then. It is for 1)a ground game 2)rolls are unsafe(rcs dont have invincibility on shitbox).

I would also suggest recording your match vids. I just looked at something that I did a few months ago and I have come to realize how bad I really look.
