I mash everything. It makes a person think that they're dealing more damage, even though they may not. U forgot Juggernaut's Headcrush and Hulk's Gamma Crush.

Or Dhalsim's throw. Is he punching the guy's face or putting his fingers in the guy's mouth?

mashing works, but only from half-screen + distance. so if ya hit em with lp at the tip, ya can mash.

Does Colulssus' grab and Zangiff 360 super grab need any mashing or just the spin of the joystick?

I just spin the joystick. Cammy's Reverse Shaft breaker and KBA does more if u just rotate as well. Zangief's FAB is self-explainitory.

the only command grab move that i know of that needs buttons mashing is spiderman's web throw..

i think all beam's are mashable to some extend...

any throw that grabs them, and does multiple hits to conflict the actual throw damage can be mashed. for more damage? perhaps not but to get it over with faster...

well i've done one in that past, at least posted about it.. but i didn't forget about it.

but like i said before gief's crouch-grab is more damageing.

avg. sqeeze per mash is 7 pts.
spirals punch per mash is 5 pts.

do the math...

1)mag tempestYou mean Hyper Grav, right?

Anyway, after flying screen activation you can mash to get up faster. Throws off some people's timing.

Also, not all beam supers are mashable, most notable example being Proton Cannon.

Other supers that aren't mashable but everyone does:
* Lightning Storm
* Photon Array
* HOD

Gief is very good on mecha form. He can punish them pixie characters easily. Cammy, Spiral, IM (not really a pixie though), and even sometimes Magneto. He doesnt get sent to the other side of the screen from those annoying assists like Cammy, CapCom, or BH. He also doesnt get lifted up by assists like Psylocke, Cable, or Cyclops. He can do some pretty good damage, but most ppl will just send out some1 who can punish him easily like Storm, Doom, or Sent. That about his only problem.

When Hulk does the comet super you can mash for a second after you hit the ground and get up before the rest of it connects. Just mash like you're scared because instead of a comet, Hulk is grabbing Maximum Burst.

An absurd reference most peolpe won't get but too damn funny if ya know what it means :D

I was expecting an in-depth review of your Pringles Can Mashing
Technique or are you saving that for next year :p

Ok people don't seem to understand that some of the things you are saying aren't mashable.... really are mashable.

The reason is that mashing them has a different effect than mashing other supers.

For instance... mashing say Charlie's QCF+PP super actually brings out more sonic booms so mashing is obvious there... same goes for hailstorm.... as is with Juggs he actually hits more.

But mashing the LightningStorm, Rogue's GNS, BH's HOD, and a lot of other supers don't actually do more hits but does do more damage because the hits that they do are closer together thereby making the super just a bit faster than before. This is most notable when someone blocks the HOD... mash the hell out of it and it can chip a person FAR worse than if not mashed. Rogue's GNS is also noticably faster. Another thing I've noticed with BH's HOD is if you mash as soon as you do it, the Demons come up sooner, and has the ability to fuck over the timing of someone who tries hop out of the Inferno xx HOD - it can still be done, but requires a bit more precision.

Okay, I've never tested Rogue's super, but I HAVE tested Storm's and Blackheart's.

In Storm's case, no, you can never mash the Lightning Storm for more damage. The Lightning Storm actually does more damage when the opponent is FARTHER away - not full screen, but maybe half a character width away. But mashing it does nothing.

Blackheart's supers are ALL pretty much random. You can mash, and it MAY affect the number of hits... or it may not. I mash the shit out of Armageddon, for example, and sometimes I get tons of rocks to hit, and sometimes I get like three rocks to hit and then Cable bounces out and fries me. Grrr... fuckin' BH.

Yeah.. the Armageddon is a love-hate situation, you either love it or you hate it. Something I've noticed that seems to help with it and it has given me a far better hit rate with it.

When you do it... hold the joystick in the direction that the character is on and mash like crazy. Mashing that one does make more fall out of the sky. And holding the direction seems to make them concentrate more on the character being hit. The only characters I've had fall out of this are Cammy and Servbot.

I found this by just observing that when the Armageddon happens it tends to fall more to one side than the other, so I wondered if holding the stick to one side would help, and it did.

Still, though, it doesn't ALWAYS work the way I want it to.
