-vh1 "I Luv the Holidays" is on...but this is quite strange. I don't think this show format works for Holiday nostalgia discussion...it's just weird and not as naturally flowing as the decade nostalgia commentary.

-I didn't even know French Stuwart could open his eyes until his recent appearances on these vh1 shows. He always had his eyes closed or in a permanent squint when he was on 3rd Rock from the Sun or random commercials....back when he was popular. I think even when he played Inspector Gadget, he had that permanent squint going on.

-what's up with certain launguages and their tendency to sound like a person coughing up phlegm? Those "hardcore" hacidic(?) jewish people,(*as opposed to the regular "mild flavor" jews) for instance...I hear so many words when they speak...whatever it's called...so many words sound like "HACCHHHTHukahaAAATHCH"...like he's trying to clear his throat, or has a bad sinus problem or somethin'.

-I recently found a picture of Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba hugging. It's magical. TOGURO™ certainly appreciated it and the candid beach/paparazzi pics of Jessica last night. :sweat:

I don't mind the bagginess in general either. But the tall tees and pants around the ankles is just stupid no matter what. And it's so boring and repetitive. Putting a little effort into the way you look can really go a long way. Saturn not keeping saved files when the power is shut off is most likely the battery gone dead: In the back of your saturn there's a little panel...open it, there should be a lithium battery in it (or a space where one goes. Type 2032...same type that goes in the Dreamcast VMUs, IIRC (though I'm sure nobody ever changed the batteries on those). $2 or less...what's funny is that people sell those things all over eBay, CONSTANTLY. You could get a memory cart for a Saturn fairly cheap, probably under $20...I don't know that the cart would hold Japanese save data also, but I'd actually assume it would, as the internal memory does.

Got Dragon Force, Fire Prowrestling S and Christmas NiGHTS for my Saturn, bitches. Envy me. Of course, they're the Japanese versions....Dragon Force is gonna be rough, as it's an RPG...

Why the hell does every radio personality on a classical music station have to talk like a wanna be limey dork? Some of them sound so fake with their accents it's not even funny. That shit pisses me off. And the ones who don't speak with an accent still have that slow annoying way of speaking that just pisses me off. Nobody talks like that in real life. When I listen to a hip-hop & R&B station, or an alternative station, or a clasic rock station the people talk like real people do in everyday real life situations. This just annoys me and I hate wanting to know the name/composer of a song and having to listen to someone say it in an annoying voice or fake accent. I applied for a job today.

I haven't worked in a little over a year.

But I finally got my HS diploma (GED, whatever. Same shit), and it's time to enter the working world. I don't need to work, but I should work a small part time job so I have pocket cash to go out and stuff.

So.. I applied to work at Nintendo World, which isn't too far away. It's only one train from the ferry, which is very nice on me. It's part time, 20-25 hours a week, which is fine for a disillusioned youth like yours truly.

If I get it, expect to hear me yelling up and down shoryuken about how i'm a game ambassador and I get to do some of my favorite things.

It's really grating to be isolated from people and then look back and learn that they've been thinking and talking about you all along. It's been on my mind for a few months now. When I graduated high school, I felt I was balanced. I didn't go out often at all, but I talked to many people and was known casually among different social circles. I only had a few good friends, of course, but it was a situation I didn't mind. I was always the odd man out; I'd be with groups of people, but not be as tightly-knit with them.

It was a few months ago that I learned what many of these casual acquaintances actually thought about me. I was admired for my surreal way of looking at life, my bravado, my humor, and my kindness. Admired. People really dug me, but I didn't know it at all. And they didn't ever try to pass along these sentiments to me.

I felt pretty betrayed, because for all of my years in high school I ultimately felt really lonely.

When I went to UT, I asked some of the friends I made why they liked it here. The Asian students loved being with other Asians, finally, because they were novelties in whatever small towns they all came from. The same goes for the Hispanics. Whites and Blacks have their places here too, but, yet again, I don't fit in. I'm mixed. I can't connect to people based on their interests anymore because no one here seems balanced enough. I mean, I'm the type who loves video games, anime, and Asian culture...but at the same time I love hip hop culture, art house film, philosophy, and testosterone-pumped television. It's like, everyone's either really fucking obnoxiously nerdy, or pretentious, or derivatively gangsta. There's no in-between, except for me.

I'm tired of not having a place, an identity, or a support group. I want to leave everything behind and go wandering, right now. I want to become a vagabond, because if this place doesn't accept me, I might as well find a place that does.

I don't get why everyone hates winter. It's my favorite time of the year. I hate hot weather...I hate getting hot and sweaty and sticky. You can wear a t-shirt and shorts, but then you're just hot in less clothes. In winter, you can actually bundle up against the cold. And it's awesome coming in front the cold in front of a raging fire, or having a hot cup of cocoa.

Plus, it's the holiday season...granted, I haven't had a Halloween or Thanksgiving for the past 3 years, but I always love Christmas and New Years. It's a good time for friends and family.

(Another) strange thing about Japan though...when the weather gets cold, not only do girls keep wearing skirts, I think they actually get shorter. Cold weather be damned, she bought that LDS miniskirt and she's gonna wear it damnit. Go figure.

Being a black guy who doesn't speak in ebonics or even really like rap/hip-hop, I know how you feel. It's that kind of sentiment that drove me to Japan...which is funny, because Japan is the LAST place where you'd find acceptance. Japanese people people get exiled for not being Japanese enough.

What I learned though is, you have to be happy with what you've got. Which is oftentimes, more than what you think you've got. If you have people who know you and respect you and like you for who you are...then that's enough. Maybe they don't know and life the same things you do, but there will be other things you will be able to share.

I went to the doctor last week and had another x-ray...basically, the x-ray looked the same as the day I'd broken it. The doctor said I might have to stay in this brace for another 2 weeks (8 total) and once again brought up the possibility of surgery. I was kind of freaked at first, but then I looked it up on the internet and EVERYTHING says that this is just a common sports injury that'll heal over time. So I'm thinking he's just a sucky Japanese doctor, and I'll let this heal on its own. As for the x-rays, I'm guessing two weeks was still too soon to really see any big changes.

If nothing else though, I'd LOVE nothing more than to never have to wear this brace, ever again.

BTW, I was attacked with the flu in a bad way yesterday. I think having the flu is one of the WORSE things ever to happen to a human being. Where else can you combine:

- A splitting headache

I only listen to their albums post Please Mr. Lostman. The only songs I actually listen to on Smile is, well, Smile and Monster C.C. I'd have to say my favorite album is probably Thank You, My Twilight. Happy Bivouac comes in a close second, though. The rest of the albums I kinda just pick through the songs I like.

Yeah.. I know I shouldn't trust people.. since last time I tried to I really burned myself.

I mean, I like people. I'm socially outgoing, i'm easy to talk to and I'm an intelligent person. A guy I met on a message board who is a friend of a friend fucking picked me up from my house and took me over to his place and we played video games and chatted.. about normal shit. I can make normal conversation work for almost 12 hours easily.

Just, people can't reciprocate. All my friends I left back in the city have like, forgotten I exist. No phone calls, no IMs, no nothing. It's like i don't exist to them anymore.. even the guy I concidered my best friend.. the guy whos shoulder i cried on when things went wrong, who gave me sage advice, and who would follow me to the ends of the earth if he knew I was right.. doesn't call anymore.

I mean, I went through most of my life without true, real life friends. All my friends were on the internet. Friends I made on BBS systems, MUDs and MUSHes, AOL RP sessions and even through high school a good chunk of my friends were from the internet.

Every time I try for real life, I get burned. This guy does seem genuinely nice though. I haven't had such silly, stupid fun around someone in a really long time. It's like I can cut loose and yanno, be myself. Say stupid comments at inappropriate times and get an actual laugh, get an honest opinion on shit.. advice on games. He's well read, well mannered (he held open doors for me and said 'after you!'!! I haven't had that done in ages.. the smallest things make me happy..)..

I mean, I still love my fiance and this guy is totally friendzoned (and he knows it, and he knows I will not cheat on my fiance no matter what twisted morals everyone else may have..), but even with that he was still fun.

I love people. I love to talk, to be around people. I love people, love knowing what they think, how they work, etc. Everyone is different.. his friends are like nothing i've ever experienced. Just so laid back and calm, no one's worrying about shit. I mean, the first 10 minutes of me meeting one of his friends, we were discussing if Superman would really lose to Silver Surfer (I couldn't believe it, but the answer is Silver surfer. Appearantly Silver Surfer can beat up Superman by throwing jupiter and throwing the sun into another solar system.. and say "Yeah supes, now what you got you bitch!?!!?!").. It felt genuinely nice.

I just get genuinely lonely. I don't want to hang out with the kids out here who have coke problems and drinking issues and don't know how to act.. I'd rather chill with the guys who know how to smoke a blunt and handle a beer or three and play some halo or something.

I want to find a nice happy balance between hanging out with self destructive addicts and hanging out with virtual nuns. I want to be able to hang out with people and just smoke a blunt while playing street fighter. I can't do that with my old school friends, and that's cool. They're still awesome people. But it would be so fun to do something like that with those guys. Perhaps I haven't given them a chance. But I just don't have a clue about approaching them about something like that. Sometimes I feel they're too uptight.

Heehee. I don't care for self destructive addicts.. life has a reason and a purpose. I'm ok with enjoying oneself through chemical stimulation but there are limits and boundaries and your body does need time to recover in between party nights.. Even when I partied nonstop it would only be on the weekends so my body had the weekdays to recover and have some semblance of normal.

And drugs are not bad, it is the people who do them that are bad. Some people just shouldn't be doing drugs. If you're in the wrong state of mind, you shouldn't be doing drugs. If you are doing drugs because your life sucks then you're a dumbass and you deserve any addiction coming at you.

You do drugs to expand your mind, to find answers and solutions, to enjoy the simpler things a bit more.

At least, that's how I feel.

phae-phae I was being sarcastic. I don't mind drugs at all. I'm all about moderation of anything. But I really don't plan on messing with anything besides weed. I dabbled in pills for a bit and wasn't feeling it. Weed is still mindblowing for me, I've only smoked a handful of times (more than 5, less than 20).
