Awesome.

I want to find a nice happy balance between hanging out with self destructive addicts and hanging out with virtual nuns. I want to be able to hang out with people and just smoke a blunt while playing street fighter. I can't do that with my old school friends, and that's cool. They're still awesome people. But it would be so fun to do something like that with those guys. Perhaps I haven't given them a chance. But I just don't have a clue about approaching them about something like that. Sometimes I feel they're too uptight.

Oh yeah, drugs are bad.

And drugs are not bad, it is the people who do them that are bad. Some people just shouldn't be doing drugs. If you're in the wrong state of mind, you shouldn't be doing drugs. If you are doing drugs because your life sucks then you're a dumbass and you deserve any addiction coming at you.

You do drugs to expand your mind, to find answers and solutions, to enjoy the simpler things a bit more.

At least, that's how I feel.
I agree with you on all that except I wouldn't call drug users bad. I've never been a person to look down on people for almost anything. I can make fun of people, chastise people and get holier than thou sometimes, but those are the people I care about. If I care about you, you will hear my mouth about certain things. And that's how it should be. If your parents never disciplined you, you're likely to be a lazy fuck up right now. I don't baby people. There are different ways to handle different situations. Sometimes people just need someone to listen to and understand them, and sometimes people really need a rude awakening. There's only so many things you can use those tired excuses (I was sad, I was alone, I was trying to find myself bla bla bla) for. I used to pull that shit myself, and then I realized how stupid it was. I've always believed that trying drugs is a fully conscientious and rational decision. A lot of people just don't want to admit that they were curious and try to throw some other lonely depression crap out there. And it's pretty easy to tell.

I switched perspectives I think but whatever. I should be asleep right now but going to bed early makes me wake up easier, and my dad walking around upstairs woke me up. Going to bed around 11 is sweet.

And oh yes, my dad is one of those stupid people who does things like this. For whatever reason, he got a $640 house phone bill, for making calls to his family in Haiti which he says is a mistake so he is gonna call the phone company and just cut off his phoneline, affectively cutting off the DSL. He said "I'm shutting off this SBC stuff", which is how dumb he is. And no we don't have cable, and no we're not getting it! I'm going to be royally pissed if I come home in a couple days and I don't have the Internet anymore.

Oh yeah that "Wasn't me" thing was cute.

whoah...Peggy Noonan(*CNN actually had the name spelled wrong at first) from Wall Street Journal is on CNN now....that's quite an attractive older lady there....yes, I would definitely hit. I mostly just remember her from an appearance on Jeopardy! a few years ago...but yah...she's looking hot today...she could get the meatpipe repeatedly.

*perhaps I'm just not in on whatever the inside joke is that's been on the net for years now...but the Pirates vs. Ninja thing:

-how is it even debateable? Ninja are cool. They have always been cool. They will continue to be cool and badass probably until the end of time. The outfits and various design concepts over the years...are cool. Stealth kills and special "jutsu"-ish skills "and all that jazz" are tight.

-Now on the other hand, let's seriously look at pirates for a sec. Take a long damn look at that concept, and how it's been represented over the years. The outfits are tremendously "ghey" 99.9% of the time. The ONLY thing even slightly acceptable is the funny "yarrrr yarrrrr" way of speaking. A hook for a hand is only cool if you happen to be Candyman. A peg leg is never cool....it's silly and stupid-looking. A fucking parrot on your shoulder looks all wrong and goofy...like you're a damn cereal mascot. Get that crap outta here. The only cool pirate I've seen was Cervantes in the Soul Calibur series, and even he looked gay in one or two of those alternate costumes.

It's such a lopsided comparison...it's just laughable. In terms of coolness, this is like comparing The Fonz to PAUL from Wonder Years. It's like comparing James Bond to Steve Urkel....it's like comparing JACK BAUER to Super Capeman from the Inspector Gadget cartoon.....Machoness----it's like....comparing Rocky Balboa to that gay boxer from Mike Tyson'sPunchout. The guys in the movie Predator to the guys from Queer Eye.

Come on, folks. It's not even close.

edit again---I mean, come on...even one of the lamest ninja I've ever seen(so far)---Naruto...even HE is generally more cool/awesome than your average pirate....and that's just sad. Hell, even Sakura from Naruto is better than a pirate....and yeah...that's even worse, now that I think about it. Sakura is fuckin terrible so far on the show.

Today i'm going back out with Taesuk (Guy with the Xbox 360, he will be referred to as Taesuk, and as Howie from time to time), we're just gonna chill and do whatever. Probably make fun of a movie on HBO, watch Saw or something.. Or rewatch Akira. Yesterday was my first time seeing it (don't kill me I started watching anime in '00 or '01, I started with Scryed... so there's a lot of classic stuff I've missed out on.), and it was cool.

But I could stand to see it again.

ya know one thing I hate? the fact that there will most likely NEVER be a Marvel-licensed game where we get to play as Mr. Sinister. I'm saying it's not even within the realm of possibility, because much like UC2, and some other things...I notice that once again...I am in the incredibly small minority that thinks that character is cool. So many other Marvel characters are 1000000x more popular, so there's just no hope. I was just looking at my miniseries that shows Mr. Sinister's origin....great art...great story, awesome character....but few other people seem to think so. I posted this already in the gaming thread...but I don't care, I'll post it twice.

Anyway, this is one of the major things that sucks about not being on the same page with the majority in terms of entertainment. Since you're the ONLY person that likes that particular thing, whatever it is...then that's it, you're not going to get much of it. Viewtiful Joe, for instance...the sales weren't that hot at all, and I'm still surprised there was a part 2.

Back on Sinister though...there's simply too many characters in Marvel that much more popular. Hell, even the Marvel company itself doesn't care, as I don't think Sinister has been involved in anything since the late 90s....then again I could be wrong here, as I haven't kept up with comics recently, because things got mostly incredibly dull after the anticlimactic end of the Zero Tolerance story.

could it be my "Jinx Factor" happens to ruin even things such as video games or characters?....like if I happen to like something, suddenly everyone else in the entire world doesn't give a shit about it, whatever it is. Perhaps I should start liking Ps3 so Sony could be knocked the fuck off their pedestal a bit....I need to start utilizing my Jinx powers in devious ways...

more Jinx stuff = when I was a kid---on the few occasions where I watched sports, of course...whenever I started getting into it and rooted for a particular team or whatever...they would lose. Never fails. If I'm watching a Tennis match, and I want Serena Williams to win...you better believe she's about to lose. eh, I don't think the power can be controlled though...my like has to be genuine. Sometimes I'd try a reverse Jinx plan, and falsely hope for the person/team that I actually hated to actually win....but it would still work out with whoever I liked losing. I could probably prove this by going backwards in time to when the Bulls were dominating the shit out of the NBA, and start cheering for the Bulls right there live....I guarantee they would lose, and history would be changed.

Sometimes I walk really slow and make a sound similar to the "boing" that is emitted when Big O walks.

Meh. I lost my job today for bullshit reasons with the most logical leading toward racism. I'm so exhausted from the unnecessary drama this month has brought that I just need some sleep. A good 12 hours or so.

I'm also growing tired of this "Too cool for school" persona everyone keeps projecting onto me. I've been tired of it. I don't flame people 24/7. Most of the time I try to post casually.

Yeah, I've got a big mouth.

Yeah, I get irritated easily... but god damn.

I'm all but done of being responsive for someone's dead-off presumptions because they refuse to differate between a neutral comment and a sarcastic one.

Believe it or not, I'm not always looking for trouble. I'm not always out for laughs and not everything I say is meant to be an insult. But since keeping my mouth shut will take care of that problem just fine, it's no longer going to be an issue.

I do it to myself. I need to make a more conscious effort to keep myself out of those retarded situations.

I'm aware that when I'm irritated (which is a lot of the time) that's how I come across and while I'll apologize for that, it isn't the complete picture by any means. At heart, I'm a very reclusive and gentle person. I was always the peacemaker in my house. To be honest, I HATE confrontation. I'm used to humoring people and letting their superiority complex kick in. I just want to get in and get out. I hate trouble. The only time I ever grew a backbone was in middle school. That's where I evolved the utter lack of tolerance for stupidity that I have today.

...At this point in my life when I get angry... I get ANGRY. Very. I'm not exactly in the position where I can just keep my mouth shut or keep it to myself at the moment. That luxury is no longer available. I'm on a constant checklist. I don't give a damn who it is. You half step and say something I don't like, I'm gonna let you know how it is point blank. I blame the way I am now solely upon myself.

I've let people get away with murder. Been the "bigger person" a little too much. Tolerated shit like a man and thought I was doing the right thing. I don't have time for that shit anymore. The only ego I should be catering to is my own. Once I figured out I could fight back, I became an addict. After a while... "treating people the way you'd like to be treated" becomes a joke. You're always ready to defend yourself, actions, or ideals. Always ready to attack somebody because they always had a problem with who you are.

I'm noticing I'm starting to get like this too. It seems as days go by I'm letting less little pockshots at me slide. On one point its good because I'm standing up for myself, practicing 'intellectual self defense'. On another I'm getting into more stupid fights and they are just draining.

I'm really wondering which way is better. They both seem extreme.

In general I'm just tired of letting people think that they're being cute when they really are annoying the hell out of me.

A couple nights ago a friend of mine was visiting the apartment and went outside to talk to some crackhead girl he's sprung over. As it turned out, a transient mother fucker approaches him in the parking lot and asks him to go out into an alley and get his bag for him, for five bucks. This is probably one of the least suspicious things you can say at 2 in the fucking morning outside an apartment complex. Now, my friend recognizes this shit for what it is and peaces the fuck out, runs into my apartment. An hour later, this asshole knocks on my door. I tell Corey (the friend) to handle his shit and I'd be right behind him.

I put on a thick black coat since it's cold as fuck and I see the Corey's talking to someone around the corner. I appear before the guy, who was STANDING OUTSIDE MY WINDOW THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME, and look him dead in his beady crackhead eyes. He was about to straight up murder Corey, but he looked at me like a kid going to Disneyland, scared as fuck.

"Uh, nah man, we're cool! No problem!" he stammers, before walking away. About five meters away from us now, he slams a concealed beer bottle on the ground, shattering it and curses. He runs all the fuck away out into the street, by now barely visible, and yells out, "I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!!!"

Goddamn. This has got to be the first time I punked some asshole out without saying a word. All thanks to the BAUER GLOWER. God bless you 24!

heh, those were some good memories....the early days of school when we got stickers instead of real grades. In my kindergarten class, it was stars...I always got Gold or Silver stars, because I was just awesome like that.

I have found the greatest cereal possibly of all time..."Granola Cereal"(Banana and Almonds). I think it might even be better than my current #1, Honey Bunches of Oats...it's definitely a strong contender for #1 "GOAT" status.

is it even possible for ear-bud style headphones to be anything more than "decent"? My iPod earbuds occasionally just fall out, and the sound just isn't that great as compared to my SERIOUS BUSINESS™ headphones. I only used the earbuds today when in the store, as I realize it would look very silly to be walking around with my huge "serious business" headphones.(*some bulky headphones made by Sony.) Besides, I can also still wear a hat with the earbuds. With the huge Sony 'phones, if I put a hat on top of that, it makes it look like I have a deformed head, like that dude from The Goonies. Fuck pride...I'm not ashamed to admit I care VERY much about how I look in public. I'm not about to walk around looking like the "Hey you Guysssss!" dude simply for better sound.

nice...this dude at a football game just won 70,000 in some Dr. Pepper challenge...he had to throw footballs into a big Dr. Pepper can thing...each one counted for 10grand...he made 7 of the shots. The final pass multiplies it by 10, and with 10 passes, he could've made 1 mil off that. Yeah, he missed the last "multiplier" pass, but damn...dude still just got 70k!

Money money money...I love it so much....yesssss...it makes me smile just sitting here thinking what I could do with "just" 70 grand.

me and my other 2 team guys, started watching that show House on DVD, season 1. damn it's a good ass show. it's like ER & CSI mixed or some shit.

also, were I stay over here is pretty huge for just 3 people.

but i gotta say, all is well with me right now. army life downrange is much better than being back in the rear on base doing nothing and stuck with stupid schedules. everyone here is more lenient because nobody really gives a fuck about the garrison army setting. rank hasnt even meant much since ive been here either.

About 2 days ago, I found naked pictures of this broad that looks strikingly similar to the girl I had a serious crush on back in 7th(and 8th, and intermittently thru high school) grade. This was easily one of the greatest TnA finds ever for me on the net. The girl is the legendary "Mary", whom I have posted about before....that girl gave me one of the greatest upskirt memories in life so far. I still remember it just as clear as if it happened yesterday. hah, I love this reminiscin' stuff...I had it bad for Mary...even had a love note I had written up, folded and in my inside jacket pocket....never could get the guts to give it to her. That was for the best...since when has a "love letter" coming from a guy ever worked on a broad? NEVER in the history of human existence. I don't know about any of you but in the winter my legs get pretty cold when i have to walk around places like from building to building on campus.

I guess it's cause it would be tough to make a "leg jacket" look cool, and i guess it would be a bit harder to put on than a coat

wow...he did more in this episode than regular Flash has done in the entire time the JL cartoon has been on the air....this is just the dude's first appearance on the show, and he's already on a comparable level of awesomeness as when Flash stepped up and beat Braniac-Luthor. (*nobody made an av out of that scene where Flash is "unstable" and crackling with energy YET?! I'm surprised...that was an awesome shot there.)

*speaking of "energy crackling" around someone...I'd love to have Thunder God powers, just so I could have the cool lightning energy effect randomly sparking around my body....just like Raiden from the MKs. That by itself made Raiden the absolute coolest-looking character in the first MK game. I loved it when I'd do the fatality in midair, and he freezes right there before landing...and the energy crackle happens right before the move comes out! That was so tight...here's another plug: Raiden is in UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2, folks. He's a secret character. Too bad his adrenaline moves aren't that great compared to other characters.(*he's basically another Anubis with his Teleport rather than the Energy Burst ability....and I'd rather have Energy Burst....at least in the game. Teleporting in real life would be much more useful for things like stealing and voyeurism of course.)

Somehow, Ming Na's career was alright after SF2: The Movie. She was a regular on ER for years...yes I would hit that with ferocity.
I remember back when that game was the new big deal of the arcade, and everyone talked about it...for a little while, I would say it (Ryu) correctly....however, since EVERYBODY else I knew said either "RAIyuu" or "ROO", I just gave up and used "ROO"....just so people knew who I was talking about. Sometimes ya have to "get wrong" just to be on the same page with everyone else.

where the hell is Inuyasha? Get this Ghost in the Shell bullshit off my tv screen, CN. I gave that show a fair chance when it first came on, and it bored me right to Dreamland. First impressions are crucial, and GitS fucked up big time with me. You can't hit with some interesting stuff "later on". If you don't hook me immediately, I'm gone and never looking back, pretty much. The only successful turn-around so far with me has been Teen Titans. I passed that show off as straight garbage when I first saw it....then that double-crossing bitch Terra joined the team, and all kinds of drama happened...Slade became more badass than ever, and I fell for Starfire...I've been a fan ever since.

Maybe I'll give "Ghost.." another shot though...there's a new action-clip montage of a commercial that actually makes the show look tight.

You know I've never had that problem. The worst I've seen is my friend's old Neon. The keyhole had frozen over on both sides (of a two door car) and we had to heat up the key with lighters to get it in.

I guess I'm lucky. And driving in the snow isn't that bad. You just have to do everything a little more carefully.

Been trying to work on my informative speech throughout entire day. All I've done so far is shift from topic to topic. First I wanted to do the earthquake in Pakistan but how was I going to make the entire class care about something that happened all the way across the world?

Motivating your audience to listen is the most critical part of your speech, if you can't get past that then you might as well stop talking.

Then I thought about doing it on skateboarding because I've been doing that for six years, its something I could definitely talk about and something that interests me but nope, stuck again on making the audience care.

I think I'm going to do it on gasoline. Everyone will care about that since it affects them and I could talk about where it comes from, where the U.S. gets it, and why the prices nearly tripled. That seems like an okay topic, hopefully it hasn't been overdone.

Guess I'll work on it tomorrow... Lol, I was kind of hoping it would snow and class would get cancelled but its going to start an hour before class does. Expecting up to 5 inch and 70% chance :P

I drove through some intense black ice on the way home from work earlier. I passed by at least six tow trucks for other cars in accidents on the side of the road. Downshift. I was going 25 on a 60mph highway. I was dope shit.

Even with snow/ice tires, I was still scared as all hell driving home. I guess when it's my own car and paid for with my own money, I get kinda all wussy when it comes to danger.

Well from what I gathered from a Google search, Peter Parker reportedly got beat the fuck down by some villain I never heard of, and had his eye yanked out and eaten, then Parker grew spider-fangs on his mouth or something and bit that villain's head off before 'dying.' Of course Marvel's flagship character isn't dead for good, but this is like the biggest story I've heard from that comic since.. well, since I stopped reading comics. Ah well, I thought it was interesting.

I may order pizza tonight...I dunno...my cheapness is holding me back. I don't even know the pricing. Papa John's website doesn't even show prices...I guess perhaps it's different based on the region...

why no other types of places that deliver? I'd love to have a fat cheeseburger and fries delivered, but as far as I know...that just doesn't exist. Why has no one apparently thought of that? As stated before, I don't care for asian food, so basically I'm left with pizza when it comes to ordering-choice. I remember there was a fish-place that delivered when I was in college....I don't think they exisst anymore. All these restaurants are basically right down the street from me, but I'm lazy; I don't want to go anywhere to get food...why don't all restaurants deliver? We might as well accept and take pride in perpetuating the lazy american-culture stereotype. haha..there's the Chili's, Logan's Wendy's, McDonald's and Jack-in-the-Box(YUK.) all in walking distance...but I don't feel like going anywhere for food.

Jenn is a cutie, imo...but she's stricly a TV star; she cannot carry a movie...doesn't have real box-office draw. The movie itself doesn't look appealing in any possible way, other than perhaps Mena Suvari in that little white tennis skirt.(*yeah, I realize I'm one of the 4 people in the world that thinks she's cute)

I'm a relatively healthy person, and sort of on a diet... While I do have exceptions, I couldn't let 110 calorie cookies get in my belly. I'd probably feel sick. :sweat:

Yes..many years ago...perhaps after No Way Out, or beginning with "Waterworld"...Kev developed a strange Box Office Repellent power....the opposite of "Box Office Draw", if you will. His very presence dooms a movie to failure immediately. The movie could be from Peter Jackson, Steve Spielburg, and George Lucas, with John Williams doing soundtrack...but the minute they put Kevin Costner in a starring role...Game Over; cue the Price is Right Loser theme.

In TV land...some have accused Ted McGuinley of having a similar effect.

I'm a health-conscious person also, but I can see why people would eat those cookies. They are pretty good. Nabisco only releases them during the holidays, I think, because I sure don't see them in NYC stores during the rest of the year, so it's just a small indulgence. Personally, I don't eat more than 1 of those cookies a day, so I buy a box and it'll last me a whole month and I never see them again until next year. However, if you're one of those people who will eat around 5 more more after dinner or something, then that's probably a cause for concern.

EDIT: The calories from fat on those bad boys are what you should really be worrying about.
Well at the moment, all I'm really worrying about is calories. I don't go to the gym enough to warrant eating cookies like that, though. They sound alright, except chocolate makes me sick, most of the time. I wish I did go to the gym more, but I can't seem to make myself go on weekends. I should go right now, actually, since I can't concentrate on this damned schoolwork (seriously, what's the secret?).

Yeah. I'm amazed i met someone awesome. I mean, I have awesome friends in Desmond and Flash G.. but this guy is like, my wondertwin. Except we turn into a form of hilarity. It's nonstop laughs when we're together.

I'm sooooooooo god damned tired. I'm not quite finished with my assignment, and I've got something else I should work on (not happening), and if I go to sleep now, I'll have 4 hours of sleep... Which will help, but I'll have a hard time getting up, and I'm SO GOD DAMNED SICK OF BEING LATE TO SCHOOL. I hate being late, but I guess I'm too irresponsible to wake up on time. It's always for some different reason. Sometimes I forgot to set my alarm; sometimes I set the alarm for PM on accident (the PM light is on the top - what the fuck); sometimes I stand up, turn off the alarm, literally the next thing I know, I'm waking up again at 8:17 - when the hell did I lie back down?; sometimes I hit snooze so many times that it stopped turning the alarm back on. All in all, it's frustrating, and my dad stopped excusing my absences now... My school is pseudo-nazi this year, giving you Saturday school for one unexcused absence. Ugh, can't wait 'til I'm in college and don't have to deal with this childish bullshit.

The front room was huge, with marble floors, a fancy fireplace, big kitchen, in an upper-class neighborhood, etc. It was great. There was even some cute white broad I barely knew for a day in the dream...and she was suddenly all over me when we got back home. (*earlier in the dream, I met her while "biking" around the neighborhood with my cousin...which is weird for 2 reasons: I haven't ridden a bike since I was a little kid...and I don't hang out with my cousin usually....there's always an awkward vibe there...we've never really had a smooth rapport. He does happen to be well on his way to being fairly wealthy though.)

I was exactly the same way... since 5th grade. And it still happens to me in college, but my problem is just not waking up at all and missing entire class(es). Then when I got so many tardies I'd just want to skip class. I'd get to school late for whatever reason and be like "I can't afford another tardy to this class, I'll take an absence" and then I'd skip in the library or something. I must have had a thousand absences total throughout high school. It helps that they couldn't have possibly made it any easier for us to skip. Go to bed early... it's the best thing you can do for yourself.

Honestly I only saw Mallrats once and never cared to watch it again cause it was boring. I hadn't seen them in order, so watching it after Clerks and Jay+SB was a huge letdown.

Jay and Silent Bob and Clerks were funny from beginning to end. Mallrats just had those couple speeches and the rest was average. Dogma and Chasing Amy had the same problem.

jay and silent bob literally put me and my brother to sleep. not kidding, dozed off in the theater. i think my brother actually started to snore he fell that asleep. i'm a HUGE smith fan. i've met him on several occasions and have been to a bunch of his panels on indy films...i love clerks soooo much, top ten comedies for sure, BUT his movies got worse with time. yes, mallrats was way overly commercialised, but the pureness of his writing was still there...over time it all just became redundancies...

Once I started college it got even worse, but the thing is college is a cakewalk. You're in class for 3-5 hours a day, usually 4 days a week. Shit, you don't even have to go to class if you don't feel like it. Trust me, you'll have so much free time you won't know what to do it. I didn't do jack shit in college, but then again, I'm smarter and more talented than most of those monkeys in school anyway.

As long as you have some sense of responsibility and suck up to your professors, you can get through college without many problems. Million can back me up on this one.

Trolling... is a harsh word when it comes to that description. I'd say it's more like spamming. They're only small, harmless responses that up her post count, so I really don't see the big deal about it. Trolling is more like posting flame bait or posting stupid shit repeatedly. That person obviously had reasons for wanting to report you and I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that your style seems to consisit of coming into threads and annoyingly dropping non-funny glib one-liners, only to leave the thread shortly thereafter, as Ne0phyte has already pointed out. Again, not hating.

Post reasons for why that person reported you to the admins and try not to come off as totally glib in your response.

Where does contributing to the thread stop and just being unnecessary start? How formal should forums be handled? Are they an e-gathering place for posters or a bunch of organized soap boxes?

=I hate 'blah' days. I'm having a 'what's the the point of all this' sort of day, but I'm soldiering on. Going to go to the library and get a book to write on for class later on.

I've been accused of trolling before. I probably do troll sometimes cause I have a lot of free time at work. But most of the time I'm productive. Or at the very least slightly amusing.

so I wouldn't worry about it phae. Most people are assholes anyway.

anyways, I'm having an awful day. I'm just going to snap at people and make crude comments for the rest of the day. And using my iPod to annoy the crap out of people.

I'm not hating, but this is exactly what people are talking about.

I asked two questions in my earlier post and you didn't address either of them. ...dismissive.

That person obviously had reasons for wanting to report you and I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that your style seems to consisit of coming into threads and annoyingly dropping non-funny glib one-liners, only to leave the thread shortly thereafter, as Ne0phyte has already pointed out. Again, not hating.

Post reasons for why that person reported you to the admins and try not to come off as totally glib in your response.

Ok, ok. I know you're not hating, you're giving constructive criticism, IMO.

And yes, my style of posting is a little glib. When GD starts bringing thought provoking threads and not "WOULD YOU HIT IT, VOLUME 10 FEATURING RANDOM GIRL FROM JAPAN", we'll talk. To be honest, i've gotten more philosophical, thought provoking threads from a forum for RAVERS than i have from GD.

And I guess it might, but it's not trolling.

And FoF, I'd take a million co-signs over having to read the same opinion said slightly different one hundred times.

My conversation with Fisty the other day about the shittyness that is this world has just now been reinforced with the knowledge that my dad's last day of work is December 23rd. Outstanding. Both of my parents are extremely intellectual, well rounded, kind, intelligent, college/masters' degree holding people and now within four years, both of them will have been receiving unemployment checks. Both right around the corner from Christmas. And they have three kids all in college. Happy fucking holidays.

And who the hell wants to hire a 60 year old man nowadays besides at the damn grocery store. My mom is a frigging doctor and it took her three years to get a steady job that was actually somewhat on the same level as the one she was laid off from *surprise* a month before her tenure, and she had to move 600 miles away for it. And it makes me imagine how hard it must be for less qualified people to bring themselves back up too. Why. Why do we even bother anymore.

This is a pretty interesting discussion. Is the level of funny in one-liner posts inversely related to the level of trolling? I'm not sure I've really added to any discussions in my short stay here other than constantly attempting (that being the key word in this sentence) to be funny in every thread I can get my greedy little hands on.

Am I a troll, Tuffy Daddy? Does it embarass you that I'm a troll? Is that why you call me by a different screen-name when we make e-love?

Side note: I had no idea glib was a word. I am going to add it to my list of "words to drop that make me sound cool". Not quite on level with 'juxtaposition', but just above 'precisely'.

Edit: I mentioned all of the above because it seems a vocal minority finds me funny. I refuse to believe that a majority of the 37,000 members here, or even a majority of the more 'active' members think so, but it seems some people enjoy my posts, though these posts seem to fall within the troll category. Does trolling in a sometimes-comedic way make trolling okay?

I don't understand the frenzy going on at the supermarket right now.

I went to pathmark to pick up hairdye, and the place was a MADHOUSE. Why? because NYC is getting 7 inches of snow. SEVEN INCHES ISN'T THAT BAD, we've had like 2 feet dropped on us before.

But for some reason, the moment people hear snow over 2 inches, it's a madhouse at the store.

I bought jeans today.. they're a 7/8. I'm really proud of myself.

I don't know why anyone would think they can get an intelligent discussion out of GD. I went over this with Septimus once. Out of 30,000 or so members on this site, maybe 14,000 actually use their accounts. Maybe 10% of that 14,000 even look in GD, and even less will actually post in GD. What you have left is a small number of people, and around 80% of that small number are raging retards. If you don't believe me, then name all the GD posters who you think have at least half a brain. I'm sure you can't list more than 50 people on it.

As for me, I'm one of those posters who post only when I have something to say. I rarely check SRK because I'm so busy these days anyway, so it's not like I want to waste my time going back and forth with someone who I feel is an idiot. I learned that lesson after my small feud with AL the great and TheProfessional. Retards will always be retards no matter what.
