I have about 21gigs of music on my laptop and ipod.

I would have more but i had burnt alot of shit to CDs awhile back and I didnt put them back on my computer.

Also, how many gigs of music doesnt really mean much, it's how many songs you have total, cause i mean, some file sizes are big as shit. Alot of my music is at 320 bit rates. So I have around 4200 songs.

I've been saving up a lot of money lately, so I'm starting to learn how to invest it in stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and so on.

Before I do all that, I learned some new info I think a lot of people should consider though. How much money do you have sitting in the bank and what interest rate are you earning on it?

I put $3000 into a money market account at Bank of America last year so I could earn .9% interest on it. Now look at this website I found today...

Anyway, even though it's holiday today, I'm heading out to my bank right now so I can close the account and put my money somewhere where it's actually working for me (instead of paying for the TV airtime of some big national bank branch).

*Newbie Investor Question*

Does anybody know how I can found out the current rates returns for T-Bills?

I placed an order for $1000 worth of the 13 week T-Bill from http://www.treasurydirect.gov/ a little while ago.

I can't find how much I'll be earning anywhere on the site though. I used google and can't seem to figure out how to find current rates either. Is this something I can find in the newspapers?

I have a lot of money in my savings account (from a smaller local bank with higher interest rates, not that national Bank of America chain) just sitting there, and the direct deposit I get from work keeps adding up also. Although I still don't know what I'm doing totally, I do know that just letting your money sit in some bank account isn't going make your life better anytime soon, so I bought some T-Bills since doing so is so easy.

I'm still too scared to put my money into stocks on my own right now (although I did put $5000 into some mutual funds offered by my bank last year, and have made $1000 minus commission so far), so just stick my money anywhere (T-Bills) in the meantime. Even if the rate (whatever it is) is lower than what I would get if I just left the money in my savings account, I'm happy I've gotten the experience at least.

Too many of my coworkers blow their paychecks on going to the casino and treating that as their "investment". A lot of my gamer friends buy all sorts of stupid expensive shit they don't need like Xbox360 or Razor phones. The three most important things in my life at the moment are food, shelter, and sex (non-prostitute/paying stripper for a handjob sex), and I honestly don't see how making a NEW COMPUTER with fancy video card your priority with what to do with your money helping with any of those three things I mentioned. Put the money you make at work in a savings account that gives you 4% instead of 1% at the very least.

My older brother (who joined the Marines after high school) literally had ALL his life savings and income (around 30k USD for a twenty something year old) in a checking account that was making close to ZERO interest. Today, I deleted the phone number of the girl I was chasing btw...

She did see me at a table semi-flirting/talking with another girl the other day (but she has a bf already), instead of going over to say hi to her like I normally do. I personally don't think it's likely (just a small reason in addition to various other stuff), but maybe that's the reason she didn't care that I gave her the present later and hinted how happy I was to have met her this year too.

Anyway, I saw her purposely avoided coming in contact with me tonight. I KNOW she saw me too, because the person walking next to her came by to say hi to me. I meant the countries are doing well economically, sorry if that wasn't clear. You can't really compare their society to ours because their value system and culture is different.

Let me ask you, me personally I actually like the 24 hour clock way of telling time, and that everyone else that isnt military doesnt really use it anyhow. So when I'm talking to a civilian i tend to go back to saying 10pm instead of just going ahead and saying 22.

From what I know, the U.S., Canada, and a few South American nations use the 12 hour clock. Everyone else uses the 24 hour notation.

I'm like you and think that the AM/PM method is too confusing. 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM look exactly the same to me if I look out the window, so I always go by military time to avoid that. My parents were also both in the military at the Philippines back in the day, so they taught me how to tell time the 24 hour method as a kid, and it stuck with me from then on.

EDIT: I also think the Metric System should be used in the U.S.. A mile is 5,280 feet. Where do they come up with shit like that?

Don't pick it up as converting it from 12 hour notation to 24. Just think of it as it's own thing and you pick it up instantly. When you try to convert it back in forth in your head, OF COURSE it's going to take you a longer time to figure out what time it is.

EDIT: The Metric System eh. Yeh i like that better too. But most of the time when telling distances, which I use it most for anyway, it's always in an estimate. But yes that shit is also better. I still use MPH though instead of KPH. Cause alot of car magazines give you the 0-60.

Good moooooorning SRK! Finally, my triumphant return from the far-too-long Christmas vacation.

I was forced to visit my family in San Diego for three days (they're not bad people, they're just so boring it's sinful) which involved nothing more than eating, more eating, and me playing my DS, with minor present-opening (every year they get me pens...wtf? plz stop camping teh llamer spawn k thx) on the assist. By far, the best portion was when we flew into Napa valley to visit my mom's friend who proceeded to take us to San Francisco the next day. Quite a great deal of events:

I got to visit Alcatraz. I thought this was ridiculously cool and took waaaay too many pictures.

I went on a 2 and a half hour tour of San Francisco, during the course of which I saw enough beautiful asian women to make the collective consciousness of SRK go into a pleasure-coma, turn all of its bodily fluids into semen, and eject it all violently in a torrential spermstorm of yellow-fever-induced would-be-children that would drown the internet, and to passers-by appear to be a mudslide, so long as you exchange 'mud' for 'eerily greasy mashed potatoes'. Also, there were buildings or something.

I got to complete some handheld games on my DS I've been meaning to get cracking at, finished a Robotech novel (rekindling my love for that series, and desire to play Robotech: Battlecry. Viva La Skull-One!), got to visit some arcades where they actually had fighting games (I played KOF XI at a Tilt in a Sacramento mall on Monday night, w00t Duck King!) and not just dancing and shooting cash-cows. To be honest, that's the first time I've seen a Third Strike cabinet. Round it all out with good food and a seven hour lay-over in Atlanta on the way back (I contemplated walking home) on only two hours of sleep, and you've got yourself a busy, and overall good vacation.

I actually haven't spoken to the xbox360 guy recently.. i've been busy and he's at work often.

I just discovered fitday.. it is my new calorie counter/diet journal.

Right now, I am aiming to be at 125 lbs by my birthday in Feb.. I think I can do it. I got my running sneakers, i've got good scenery and hella delicious weather here in NYC, and i've got a treadmill RIGHT NEXT TO MY PC DESK. I'm not lying, folks. On one side of me is a floor freezer, and to my right is a treadmill.

LOL. I just rememered reading at Gamefaqs some guy asking- "Is Batman in MVC2?" He got flamed to hell and back. Although, I'm sure if half the amount of those posters were SRK'ers and teh other half died, he would've felt much worse than he did. Gamefaqs flamers suck.

Going to get back into karate in January at the Community College. Can't wait to pick up where I left off. I became a green belt in Isshinryu a long time ago.

I just hope its real karate and not just a 'what to do if someone tries to rape you' class.

I was going to say that sounds like a cool way to meet girls, but not only are karate classes 90% full of male dorks usually, even if it is a women's self-defense class mostly, the instructor is going to make you play the part of the rapist/attacker and have you take the business end of the ancient and unstoppable self-defense technique known as "ow... my groin." :lame:

Take the yoga, pilates, or cardio kickboxing class instead I say. :lovin:

Am I a nerd for wanting to bang this girl's brains out? Really an average looking girl without anything spectacular sex appeal-wise that stands out, but she has these big round eyes like an anime character, and it's the cutest thing ever to me for no reason... Her real name is the same name as one of the cute, girl characters in a video game I played before too and I think that's awesome. I don't see her very often, so never can find the appropriate time to go chat, but I really love it whenever she looks in my direction, bats her eyes, and smiles.

I'm friends with her friend who I do see often though, so I asked the friend the other day whether the cute girl had a boyfriend or not, because I want to call her.

I was so upset when I heard that, I didn't even care that she would tell her I liked her anyway and it doesn't matter if she was married or not. I have no qualms about spending time with some other dude's girlfriend, because they're the schmucks anyway for not treating the girl right and the girl ends up paying attention to me. Having a kid (ie. placenta that shit down), excessive smoking, and a young girl (around my age, but not older than 30) being married are the biggest possible turn offs for me though.

Jessica Alba is hot and a lot of guys want her right? I thought so too because even though that horror/comedy movie about the possessed hand was horribly bad, the backside camera shot of Jessica's ass in the skimpy outfit was possibly one of the most bonerific things I've seen in my entire life. But yeah, when I read that she married the 30 year old co-star dude on her TV show, I hate her so much now and my interest level for her is in the negative numbers. I actually want to watch "Sin City" because I heard it's a sweet movie too, but yeah, Alba is in that, so no, I refuse. :mad: :tdown:

nah, I think the funniest post was from a dude named "TMOG" on the Smash Bros. Melee forums, when he claimed to have beat All-Star mode on Very Hard with a No-Damage-Clear....with Pichu. I still have the actual quote saved either here or on my old computer....but I will never forget it....which reminds me...all these months, and I STILL haven't transferred all my stuff from the old g3 to this newer iMac.

-I have more Christmas money on the way! So...I'll most likely look around for that Gunstar Heroes GBA version today. I don't have much hope though..
