I've pretty much quit video games because I've realized it has NO purpose for increasing mating opportunies whatsoever (unless I'm a homosexual or a desperate homosexual). You know, that post got me thinking about my friend (I don't know if he wants me to mention his name). He's hands down the BEST man I'm real life friends with when it comes to women.

He told me once how he just tells girls straight up that he plays video games, and that they need to deal with it if they want to be with him.

He travels for his work, but he gets girls in EVERY single state that he visits. In fact, this one girl here in my home state liked him so much that she actually bought him a $400 leather jacket as a holiday present to win his approval. He's older than me, but that's crazy that he can keep a girlfriend at home, travel all over the place, tell people he plays video games, and the new girls he's hooking up with all the time are buying gifts to get HIS attention.

A line I heard him use once to a girl over the phone is, "Yeah, I'm a nerd." But just the way he said it was too good. He asserted himself and the message sent was, "Yeah, I'm going to go play video games with this dude kcxj instead of hanging out with you tonight. Deal with it." She actually did. :rofl:

You're right btw too. I have noticed a personality trait about myself that I tend to overcomplicate things and think about them more than I really need to.

I don't know if I'm as good as some of the other guys that read this board (who do or don't post), but I guess I was a virgin all the way until the beginning of this year (I'm 24 now). I like to tell myself that I'm not, but the truth is, I only poked her once, she said it hurt and was worried about blood, so since I'm such a nice guy and understanding boyfriend, I stopped and didn't ask her to do it again.

Well, he's right about the shyness. If you're naturally a shy guy...that really IS something that requires "fixing", i.e. "elimination". I unfortunately know this the hard way. A "Shy Guy" really can't do that "Just be yourself" nonsense....because that is possibly the single most unattractive trait a woman could detect on a guy. Who plays video games to get women anyway? When one of my girl____friends said "video games are for kids", i straight up said to her face "i don't care what you think, I don't do it to impress you or anyone else." I was only playing games ony my laptop because there was no one to talk to during my break between classes until she came along. we're still friends.

i used the same line on the last girl i was dating a few months back when she made comment about my clothes (it was a fucking brand new buisness suit!! she said I looked wierd... stupid bitch. Every other girl at the university that day would've said otherwise). anyway we're not friends anymore, but that's because she is a psychologically fucked up girl and expected me to care about and fix all her damn problems.

the point of the story is, they both respected me a little bit more after I told them that. I'll play video games and read comics all i want, but like I said earlier i'll keep that to myself at home and won't use it in conversation with a girl. And as much as I want a real girlfriend, I don't think any girl is worth changing who you are for.

Half the jokes people crack on SRK like they are new, innovative and funny are old - because chances are it's from somewhere on SA. SA's a huge hub for the internet .. I mean, huge. Those are all gone. They used to be good at around 2002, but maybe because this forum was newer then.

I've been premium here twice now, if I recall...both times were because someone else bought me the premium status. -in the case of multiple kids = one or more are guaranteed to grow up to be an asswipe piece of garbage, no matter how great a parent you are. Heartbreaking = inevitable. eh, one may succeed though...it's a crapshoot.

-The suck factor of life increases exponentially once you truly start to get "old". Everything you do suddenly becomes snail's pace...even driving. Million...I must say, that it's a tie between In Space and Lost Gaxaly for me...seriously. That Jack is too relaxed, indecisive, and underconfident. Shane MIGHT survive a big Red Ranger Rumble. Disney screwed up the rangers franchise(bad music, explosions, horrible continuity, and hell, everything else.), but it shouldn't be bitched about as if the whole world will be effected by it. Something to remember about PR: after In Space, the rangers were not descendants or upgrades of their previous power ranger designations(i.e. PR > NPR, or ZEO > TURBO > SPACE), nor the enemies related. Dark Spectre died and so did the enemy tie ins also. Yet, in LG, some enemies from the even the original show are present as cameos.

Oh...and I say that NS's constant sillyness and recycled music(I heard these tracks from other cartoons and the growth music sounds as if it was ripped from CVS2's Evil Ending/Gouki Appears theme) fails to make the grade that was acheived by the MMPR. In fact, it's too much to bear.

After "Napstergate" and people realized how horrible "Kazaa" was, people started using BitTorrent.

SomethingAwful had a subforum known as the "BitTorrent Barnyard" (BTB), and the smaller subforums "No MP3s" (NMP3) and "Don't Post Porn Here" (DPPH). After a while, the administration started to notice a large section of registering users were joining SomethingAwful's forums JUST for the file sharing. With that, Lowtax shut down the
BTB, and "Where Da Moviez At?" (WDMA) was created instead.


WDMA was run by Radium, the SomethingAwful server admin/tech guy(I think), with no direct link to SomethingAwful, and Lowtax himself. As time went on, the users of WDMA decided that a front was needed in order to keep people from realizing that WDMA was actually a large-scale file sharing forum. The front page became something for the "Washer and Dryer Maintenance Association", and there was a tiny "Webmail" link if you scrolled down to the bottom of the page - clicking on it gave you a U/P screen, but that too looked to be a part of the "Washer and Dryer Maintenance Association".

WDMA had really strict rules - the biggest one was "Do not talk about WDMA outside of WDMA", which constantly lead to WDMA being nicknamed "Fight Club". Anyone caught breaking this rule was banned immediately, but sometimes people mentioning it on other forums were pardoned from the banhammer if they removed any trace mention of WDMA. The rule worked out well, and WDMA remained a secret for the most part.

Warez were never outright shared on WDMA - books, music, movies, porn and TV shows were. There was once a secret warez forum on WDMA which people had access to ONLY if they had the exact URL. The Warez forum got shut down when FYAD (Fuck You and Die) sent screenshots of the Half-Life 2 torrent to a game manufacturer. The Downfall of WDMA:

WDMA started it's decline when a guy (Ryan Lord, possibly Darth Vadar, unsure) posted homegrown porn of him and a girlfriend on another site. Even though he asked that community not to share it, it wound up on lots of other sites - including WDMA. He threatened to complain to the FBI, the RIAA and several IDMB message boards in reference to WDMA and Lowtax (who had NO relation to WDMA)

Even though WDMA had gotten no warnings, it closed down. Within a week, it was back - and forum drama was forbidden. The site never gained back full speed - and they closed. On August 8th, 2005 the site's front page changed letting people know that WDMA was indeed gone forever.

Today was Easter. It was a fairly good Easter, got one of those spiffy chocolate eggs and ate some delicious cake.

I work for the hardware recieve call and dispatch call center for IBM. We manage the entire easteren seaboard and the south. People call us for one of two reasons.

1. To place a service call b/c their machine is broken
2. To check up on the progress of their prieviously placed service call.

Engineers (we call CE's) also call us for various things. Looking for new calls, old calls, msgs, to be transfered..we're basically their babysite--I mean "secretaries".

So it's like, Easter. On the weekends we work from what we call "scratchpads" these sp's hold all the info about what ce's are working that weekend. Since most ce's do not work weekends.

It's like this

Sunday 8am-9pm
Large System Machines: tC18 (the ce's go by "territories")

So all day sunday during my 8-3:30, C18 will be taking ALL Large System calls.

Simple..

So how come mr. C18 says he's NT (not trained) on THREE of these calls!? I'm like "what the hell are you tr (trained) on then?!"

When a CE says s/he can't handle a call, for whatever reason (in fact one of the reasons I heard was "I've got stuff to do for Easter". Gee. I wish *I* could stop working cause I've got holiday stuff), we have to do a DC (directed call out).

This means we have call the people who would work on these machines during the regular week. Meaning, we call people ON THEIR OFF DAY to ask to them to come in and work! What's even worse, is that this is EASTER!!!! Do you think anyone's going to come out? NO! And of course, when I start the DC, either I get no one on the phone -or- they just say "no." And there's nothing I can do about that.

No after we call these people, usually about 3 or 4 people who have a pager, cell, and home # that we have to call, we're supposed to hand the call over the National Duty Managers (NDMs) to handle. They're supposed to say "Ok. I'll take care of it."

But do they? NO.

They tell us to go down the tr list. Which on average contains at least 12 peoeple (or more!). So now we have to call 12 more ppl at 3 phone numbers each.

Forget that other calls might be coming that need to be assigned to other egineers or that people might be waiting on the phones...no. Now we have to dial (at least! and I do mean least) 36 phone numbers.

And this guy! C18, does this THREE TIMES!!! ON EASTER!

Then we're supposed to call the TL (team lead or assistant manager) to ask them for guidence. Most often they just give us MORE people to call and then tell us to call the team manager if we can't get anyone. Which inevitably happens and then, finally, after an hour of calling and getting no one, the NDMs finally handles it.


NO ONE but us does the job we're supposed to. Everyone can put thier responsibilities on us and we have absolutely no recourse. We can't say "no" and are advised to apologize even when we aren't wrong! They blame us for everything that might've gone wrong, even if they could've stopped it! We get shit on by everyone. I'm sick of it! $12 an hour just isn't enough for all the bullshit we have to put up with.

We're at the gotdamn bottom of the hill and you know what rolls down hill.

And I haven't even mentioned the customers that can't understand english. No, no they're not forgien or anything. They're just dumbasses.

Like this one guy was upset b/c the part that was delievered to his house was delayed b/c it got delievered to the wrong address. I tell him, i'll put a note on the call with the correct address and delivery instructions.

He's fine with that. However, he wants service TODAY.

I tell him I'll let the CE know about this and the delivery mishap. I'll also put a note on the call to have the CE call him A.S.A.P.!! The CE will call him back and they can discuss having the parts to be re-delievered and an eta for service today.

I redid my entire profile by getting rid all all the wussy stuff I wrote before.

I also got rid of ALL my interests, favorite books, movies, etc... because finding commonality with girls is BORING, and once you find out what they like, you can make fun of them for liking something stupid, while they still have no idea what you like.

A picture speaks a thousand words, so if the girl is really interested in me, then she can look at my pictures to see that 1.) I play the piano, 2.) I do kickboxing, and 3.) I still have a nerdy side that likes to play video games at TGA.

Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble...such absolute disappointment this game was....it still hurts my soul. All Capcom/Clover Studios had to do was do a shameless rip off of Smash Bros, and it could've been one of the greatest games of all time(*like VJ1).....but noooooooo...they had to be different. I didn't like the backgrounds too much (I liked London and the windmills though), but the characters were beautiful. People whined so much about Capcom's reusing sprites, but they didn't seem to take into account that they had to create sprites for every SNK character. A lot of the effects too (like fireballs) were hot.

...Too bad I dislike CvS2. The game just doesn't work for me. I like CvS1 much better. I'm definitely in the minority there. It was simpler, but better I thought. I miss my EX Vice/Ryu/King team, that team was sexy.

My favorite level is Burning Osaka, by far. That level is epic.

The character art design was, in my opinion, extremely well done, Bison in particular. I mean, chunky Alpha-Bison is cool and all, and has his place, but the re-done old school lean-and-mean Bison is undiluted own.

My favorite level is Burning Osaka, by far. That level is epic.

The character art design was, in my opinion, extremely well done, Bison in particular. I mean, chunky Alpha-Bison is cool and all, and has his place, but the re-done old school lean-and-mean Bison is undiluted own.

CvS1's ratio system did suck. Especially the notion that 2 R1s = 1 R2. ...No. The R1's could hang just fine, taking much more than half of a R2's life if not beating him all together. So then it became a strength in numbers game - you either used the 4 little girls team, or the 3-man pair. R2/R2 put you at a disadvantage, and although the R3's were REALLY good in this game, even a R1/R3 pairing had problems with R1/R1/R2 or the 4 little girls.

I think most people could have even lived with CvS1's system so long as there was a safeguard in place to prevent the 4 little girls team. That was the biggest problem with the system.

And the work is fantastic artistically minus Chun. Her run is choppy. Other characters besides the rehashes actually look sweet, animation-wise.

I must agree also and it still ranks #1 in the book of Bear for best SNK/Capcom crossover game right next to SVC:MOTM. That game still has a place in my heart. Leona/Guile tag team. Also, the options for three on three classic, or tag is the best feature.

Lately I've really been enjoying Samurai Champloo. I know I caught the bandwagon late, but that's just how I am. The show is dope, the characters are interesting, the music is awesome. I'm still a proponent of 1 over 2. 2 should have been better. More characters, more grooves, better ratio system. But it just didn't work for me. The game was boring. Cheap, bitch tactics prevailed, which made the game not fun. And then RC came out and broke the game even more. I switched to A-Groove, hoping that creating and executing CC's would keep my interest, but ultimately it didn't.
