There's something I've been thinking about lately and would like a little input on; I've already run this past Az, so he'll have to forgive me.

In September, a friend of mine who I'll call M was abruptly ditched by her bf, E; from what her brother L could tell, the evening with E at L and M's apt had gone normally without any hint that it was coming, and then all of a sudden E told M he thought they just weren't working out. However, he completely botched whatever reasons he was trying to give, and when she started crying, he started crying, then said, 'I've gotta go,' and left without giving her a reason for the breakup at all. The poor girl, who grew up fairly sheltered and has never been great at dealing with drastic change, was so shattered that she cried for the next seven hours, and I know this because I was there less than 30 mins after it happened thanks to L phoning me. Over the next four days, we waited anxiously with her, hoping for any kind of response from E; because L knew he wasn't capable of giving long-term care for this sort of trauma, I ended up practically living at their apt for almost two weeks, desperately trying to hold M's brain together while keeping L's sanity in one piece. Almost one week after the sudden breakup, M, who's been bipolar since age 11, attempted suicide by cutting her wrist with a small knife. I was asleep on her couch at the time and never heard a thing -- as a matter of fact, I woke up about two hours after the fact, and by then she'd already cleaned and disinfected the wound. E eventually came around and explained his extremely shortsighted reasoning, and he and M are now on decent terms again. As for me, I spent so much time looking after her that I wore myself into illness, which thankfully didn't hit until after the worst of it was over. Two weeks after this glorious event, my dad was hospitalized, and you guys all know how that went. :wasted:

The problem is this: except for one time early on and a vague mention of it in her blog, M didn't so much as ask how things were going with me while my dad was in the hospital -- hell, she didn't even drop me an IM when she saw me online. She'd thought because I didn't mention it on my own that everything was fine (she said this the Tuesday he went for surgery, and the only reason she knew anything at all was because I'd linked her to my initial post about it here and told her to read it later, but she'd already clicked on it). Over time I felt a knot hardening in my gut and knew it was resentment towards her brewing: I dropped everything for her when she needed me, but she couldn't be arsed to do the same for me when I could have used somebody. For fuck's sake, you guys were far more interested in my welfare and you're spread out all over the freaking planet, whereas M lives only a handful of streets away, and -- well.

So here's my question, SRK: now that it's been almost two weeks since Dad went home, should I bother talking to her about it? The knot of resentment is smaller, but it's still there, and I haven't been able to forgive M for her gross lapse in reciprocation. She's admitted to being a daft blonde sometimes and that her pattern recognition sucks, but can anyone truly be this daft, let alone seem to feel no sense of obligation? I love her dearly, but christ, this hurt. For a while, I wondered if she was just a fair-weather friend, or if her inability to see my need was just because I don't wear my heart on my sleeve. IMO, after everything I did for her, I don't think it's unreasonable of me to expect some form of concern from her, even if it was just a hug, but I didn't even get that.

Nish: Well honestly it sounds like M has lots of trouble dealing with her own problems, to the point of them overwhelming her. Its not that she a fair weather friend; it's just in some instances we all get caught up in our own shit and don't look around to see how our peeps are doing. I'd mention it to her if I were you, but I'd do it in a non-accusing manner. Just a simple: "Dad's coming home soon, yeah he's fine but I was really worried about him..." I think that starter line should give your frind enough space to either be caring or drop the ball. Because now that she's more together herself she should be more considerate of her friend's lives.

Apparently SC3 was rushed and because of the lack of an arcade release a potentially gamebreaking glitch was already found. Called G22 or Variable Cancel, it allows you to cancel the recovery of an attack, throw break or the disadvantage of being guard impacted. Theoretically you can do a slow attack to bait the guard impact, the opponent falls for it then you G22 the GI, giving you the advantage. Basically it's like parrying a sweep(3s) but getting DP'ed before your fastest attack can come out.

well that sucks...I missed pretty much the whole night yesterday. I made the fatal mistake of laying down while watching tv---and just like that, I was in Dreamland probably before 9pm. As much as I prefer the dreamscape over this depressing reality...it still kinda sucks because that cut my whole day off there. Work already eats 7.5 hours out of every day, and then I fell asleep to miss the rest of the night. I didn't even get to eat dinner because of that. I still wish they'd invent a "Sleep Shot" type of thing...and a simple injection could take care of the required 7 or 8 hours sleep....then those hours could be used for getting other things done in life.

TMI time: I rubbed one out at lunchtime yesterday at work. My TOGURO™ is very thankful for that Trina issue of KING magazine.

I've done that before. Three times. It fucking sucks.

That sling they put you in is the worst thing ever. It's not like having a cast where your broken bone is protected from everything and you can't "accidentally" move it. Doing basic things like, I dunno, sleeping or taking a shower, hurt like a bitch. Hell, getting dressed in the morning becomes an ordeal.

Another thing is that it's not very obvious to other people when you have a broken collarbone, again due to no visible cast (the sling is worn under your clothes for people who have no idea what I'm taking about). So a playful slap on the back from a friend feels like you just got hit by a truck.

And when it's all over, it never truly heals. That bone is going to be weak for a long ass time. I last broke my collarbone 9 years ago and it still gets randomly sore sometimes.

So yeah Az....I know *exactly* what you feel like. You're going to have an interesting next 6 weeks while that thing heals.

To G22 on reaction to a GI in real battle would require so much speed and dexterity that it's Japanese. You should worry more about G22'ed throws and attacks on block. Mitsurugi has a hard hitting attack that normally has alot of recovery and puts the opponent in 10 frames of block stun. Mitsu can G22 that attack and negate his recovery, guaranteeing some free attack. Setsuka's B+G throw can be G22 for incredible results(pretty much 50% damage).

Oh yeah and Ivy has a 3/4 screen ringout. Also Cervantes has some kind of corner infinite(might just be semi-infinite/loop).

Allow me to give you some insight into how shitty my luck has been lately.

I stubbed my toe really hard two weeks ago. I didn't think much of it at the time, but lately it's been hurting bad, and the toe swelled up and got stiff. That lead me to believe that maybe it was broken. I didn't go to the hospital though - since it's the little toe, I don't believe they can do much more than tape it up and say "take care". And, I hate Japanese hospitals, so that was another motivating factor.

So instead of going to the hospital, I went to play basketball on Monday.

I did not actually aggrevate the toe (and I was on fire from the 3-pt range), but I did manage to rip open a very large scrape on my right arm from about mid-September. Just as it had FINALLY healed. Fuck.

Anyway, after basketball, one of the guys sees me slightly limping and asks what's wrong with my foot. I told him the toe was possibly broken, but I was fine. Anyway, this guy tells my supervisor at the Board of Education the next day about my possible broken toe. My supervisor then calls the school I was working at that day. I was in class when he called, so when I came back I had the office teacher ask me "What's wrong with your foot?" I again explained the situation, and she told me my supervisor wanted me to go into the BOE so I could talk about in it person with him. I happened to have some things to do inbetween classes, so first off I went back to the BOE.

I talked to him in person about the toe and explained the situation again. He said he really wanted me to go to the hospital, but again I stressed that it would be a waste of time. He finally accepted it and told me to take care.

Leaving the BOE, not even 3 minutes out, I accidentally biked off the road and into a ditch. I flew off the bike - midair, I was simultaneously thinking about how to protect my head, and the reopened scrape on my right forearm. As a result, my right shoulder ended up coming forward, and that's where I landed, breaking my right collarbone.

artic, you're right, this brace is a bitch. And my right arm has been rendered more or less useless. Luckily, I broke it in the center, so if I take it easy and let it heal naturally, I don't need surgery or any metal screws. It still hurts plenty though, and for the next six weeks I'm going to be bumbling around trying to do things with my left hand. AND, because I have the opened scrape on my right forearm, there are a ton of positions I can't even PLACE my arm because it'll hurt like hell - the shoulder, the forearm, or a wonderful combination of the two.

Oh well. Sucks real ass, but it could have been so much worse.

And incidentally, I didn't break my toe.

They're up to 9 games already, actually. However, they don't keep the same cast in every game. Traditionally there are 2 games per "universe" in FE.

That reminds me of that faggy "grinder shoes" that were all the rave years. It was basically shoes with metal on the bottom of them so you could grind down rails, Sonic style. I was watching TV and cartoons were on...what year is this? After the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon went off, TMNT came on, and then G.I. Joe came on... Thank god that shitty Transformers cartoon isn't around anymore.

My toenails are long, and I was running up the stairs the other day and I stubbed my toe and my toenail broke almost completely off and it was bleeding profusely. I tried to take a picture, cause it was gross, but it was too blurry. It was hanging onto the skin and dripping blood.

I spent 45 minutes in the shower/tub today getting clean and pretty for hawt secks later today! :woot: It's been a week and four days >_<!

I feel for you man, I really do. Your right arm is probably going to be useless for two weeks. After three, you'll be able to move it a little, but it will hurt when you do. After five weeks, you'll be able to do light activity with the right arm. After six you can ditch the sling, but it'll be sore for a couple weeks after.

I was lucky and broke my left collarbone (I'm right-handed), so I could still function more or less. It's going to suck for you figuring out how to use your left hand to do everything.

lucky! My fiance just left yesterday and I won't be seeing him again until like, thanksgiving. He works insane hours, and I live insanely far away from his job (from his house it's a direct trip, only one train, then you're at the ferry.. from the other side of the ferry it's like, 45 mins on a bus, if it's crowded on the streets)

But you're lucky! And yea, the best part about the 'i know i'ma get me some ass' is the really super long bath and shower you get to take. I come out of the shower smelling like soap and garnier shampoo.. shit's golden.

Do you do the necessary dance-in-bathroom mirror in the underwear thing? It's like, a weird ritual i have where i'll put on some song i really like and start dancing in front of the mirror. :confused:

Ok. Here's an actual question. When you think of fall/thanksgiving, what kind of pies and baked goods do you think of? Right now i'm thinking of pumpkin pie, but i'm not sure about apple pie at all. It seems too .. traditional.

This is my second thanksgiving back with my father, stepmother and brother, and it's the first time I will be here to help out on thanksgiving. I need to show off to all of them, especially my father's roommate/girlfriend who is a really good baker from what i've heard.

Maybe pecan pie as well? Sweet Potato?

I also want to do something like, side-dish like, and as much as i'd love to be a halfie and make collard greens or something like that, I can't because I know i'd probably be the only one eating it. My fiance might, I dunno if he likes it (he probably does)..

Argh, someone here has GOT to be a cook..

On the food subject, I cook my ass off. I can bake like a pro and I love to do it. My penis has benefitted quite a bit from my culinary skills. I only bake/cook from scratch though. no hamburger helper or Duncan Hines at all. Homemade from scratch is the shit.

Ok. Here's an actual question. When you think of fall/thanksgiving, what kind of pies and baked goods do you think of? Right now i'm thinking of pumpkin pie, but i'm not sure about apple pie at all. It seems too .. traditional.

This is my second thanksgiving back with my father, stepmother and brother, and it's the first time I will be here to help out on thanksgiving. I need to show off to all of them, especially my father's roommate/girlfriend who is a really good baker from what i've heard.

Maybe pecan pie as well? Sweet Potato?

I also want to do something like, side-dish like, and as much as i'd love to be a halfie and make collard greens or something like that, I can't because I know i'd probably be the only one eating it. My fiance might, I dunno if he likes it (he probably does)..

On the food subject, I cook my ass off. I can bake like a pro and I love to do it. My penis has benefitted quite a bit from my culinary skills. I only bake/cook from scratch though. no hamburger helper or Duncan Hines at all. Homemade from scratch is the shit.

And basically i'm trying to show off. This is the closing of my first year back with my father's side of the family. This is the first big holiday I can cook for, and show them what i've learned in my five years of absence. My stepmother has seen my cooking (i made her homemade gnocchi a few weeks back and she loved it), but my father has not really.

My father's roommate/girlfriend is a good cook as well.. she's german. I'm positive she's making a mocha buttercream cake, since Janet and I thought mocha sounded good.

Basically I'm taking this as a CHALLENGE. My cooking is top tier! Just, for once i'm out of ideas on what to do. I have ideas, but i'm second-guessing them for once, which might be good. Recipes i probably don't need help with, I belong to enough food mailing lists and livejournal communities to just ask and search the last posts and find stuff.

But seriously. That's the goal, more or less.

I'm planning to testrun the baked goods this weekend, and possibly make a smaller batch of whatever else needs to get done, to see if I like it, if my stepmother likes it, and most importantly, if my little brother likes it.

Did you get the DVD collection? I'm not satisfied with it at all. They said that music videos would be in the set, but there's only a handful in the 3rd disc. Fucking garbage because the videos are the best part in Beavis and Butthead. And the order of the episodes... WTF? At least go in chronological order by the seasons, or better yet, release the the series in season sets. Don't get this unless you really, really like Beavis and Butthead or don't have access to cable because B&BH is on every night at 7:00 on Comedy Central.

In conclusion: This DVD set... it's not cool.

Na, na. I'm not thick.. i used to be a bigger gal but i held my weight REALLY well because i didn't give a shit then. I'm 5'6 and a half (i just say 5'7) and I used to weigh about 180, give or take a bit.

I'm at 145 at the moment.. diet and light cardio.. cause the most cardio i've EVER done is playing DDR, or dancing at a rave which can be pretty cardiotastic.

But yeah. I'm not thick really. I've got a chubby stomach and i'm kind of ok with it, depends on my mood.

Yo, for thanksgiving I am now making a metric fuckton of food.

My stepmom pleaded with me for collard greens, peach cobbler, and yams (with marshmallows ohmygod).. plus i'm making the pies I had originally intended on making (me and my stepmother decided on pumpkin and pecan, she doesn't want apple pie and she hasn't had pumpkin or pecan in a while), and fresh cranberry sauce.

I'ma be a busy gal the day before/day of thanksgiving, it seems. Hopefully I get a good recipe for collard greens from one of her co-workers, because i actually fucking forgot how to make em. I've only made them like, once.

God, the macaroni casserole(soul food style), I love it. I say "soul food style" because I once though all macaroni casserole was good. Like pizza, you just can't fuck up home made macaroni. But then I went to a friend's house for dinner and she made mac casserole. She was dominican, but still black so I trusted her. Disgusting. The shit was cold, it had bread crumbs in it making it CRUNCHY, beneath the cheese surface there was NO cheese so it was just cheese layer on top of cooked macaroni shells. It was terrible, the first home made macaroni dish that I had to move around on my plate to make it seem like I ate some.

Black people, you ever witness a non-black person first experiencing fried chicken as made by black people before? I only have once and it was funny. My best friend is Cambodian and back when we were seniors in high school we all got together for a cook out. He took one bite and his eyes opened in a kind of "I know the meaning of life" way. He went back and got a plate full, he ate it in a way that would damn him to hell. It was so barbaric and gluttonous. Since he unfortunately doesn't have a black mother it's a rare pleasure.

I just said fuck this and swore off cable TV, and dl'd TV shows or rented DVDs.. so this year I've been d/l'ing HBO's Real Time every week.. Maher's pretty funny and he isn't afraid to bring on guests that can present a strong opposing argument.. well, it's in the off-season right now and now there's a void in my weekly routine that I need to fill .. can anybody recommend any good TV shows to watch? I watched Jeopardy yesterday...they're doing a college tourney now...I forgot it was on and only caught the 2nd round; my score(yes, I still keep score) was 4800 by the final...I have the odd dilemma though of this or "Attack of the Show"...sometimes I watch AOTS, and sometimes I'll watch Jeopardy.

Me = walking pharmacy. My mom's a doctor and can write me any uncontrolled prescriptions. If I was to really beg her, I could get pretty much anything.

Zyban helps with nicotine withdrawal. My dad quit smoking after 40 years with one single pill. It doesn't work for most people, but according to my mom and dad it's worth a try.

I have Vicodin, but I'm saving it for a special occasion :D I also have Ambien. No Oxy. I've got plenty of Zoloft. I can easily get any antidepressants because my mom is more than happy to see me take them. Trazodone, Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac, Effexor, anything.

Drawback of Jeopardy: Days of our Lives comes on right after and I end up listening to it.

I know, I said the same thing. Of course he doesn't want his dad to die, but he needs to push everything aside and ask himself "Do I want to do this surgery or not?" And since it is a pretty easy surgery, I'm sure he does. Of course he'll be scared, but it'll all end soon enough and he'll feel wonderful for doing it and his dad will...well, imagine your son saving your life.

I can't imagine how terrible I'd feel to actually hear my mom tell me not to save my dad's life. But for him to even side with her, and let her frigging brainwash him into thinking he shouldn't is really scary. I mean, if you can't step up to the plate for your dad when he's dying, when will you ever? He really needs to talk to someone besides his mom about this. His mom, frankly, is an evil person for this and I honestly believe she wants his money, because he does have a lot. This is so sad :sad:

He was kind of a fuck up as a father and a husband. But that's not the point. The point is that my friend wanted to donate his liver to save his father's life, and his mother has convinced him not to.

What did she tell him, he was a bad man, so just let him die? If he wanted to donate his liver, he wanted to donate his liver. You don't talk someone out of saving someone's life. You don't get revenge on your ex-husband through your son. You don't manipulate your son into letting his father die because you are holding a grudge against him and possibly want his money.

Whatever. I hope he does what he wants to do and he feels is right. Why is SRK moving so slowly tonight?

I am up again, about to hit school for some work crunching. Two black women in the house equals low productivity for Bear. The place is dead during the weekend, so it makes the best grounds for...about anything.

Speaking of women, this woman shows up out of the blue and started to talk to me when I was doing a smoke retrieval mission for someone at the pub. I noticd that she was one of these girls I saw earlier and they had trouble getting into the pub, trying to get the guy to let them in. Passions Update---Kay and Fox have been trapped inside a storybook by Tabitha's magical baby...so they're trapped in a book as illustrated characters now....running from a dragon. This show never ceases to amaze me....I still love it.

Well, for one I've always preferred the exaggerated sports games if I'm to play a sports game at all....I'd rather have outlandish things going on like "he's on fire!"(literally), or jumping 30 feet into the air for a dunk, becoming a little tornado in College Slam, etc. Mario Strikers looks like it will take it even further with each mario universe character having their own special abilities....plus, the graphics are incredible, and anytime you put in the classic character from the Mario series of games...that's instant bonus points right there. They all apparently have some super move, where it zooms in with crazyspecial effects before the character hits the ball. I still haven't bought Mario Tennis though(*Tennis is one of the few sports I happen to like for real)...I'm so far behind on all these games.(*knowing Nintendo, I bet Mario Tennis is STILL 50 bucks.)

haha...this episode of Batman makes me think yet again...what would it look like if someone really only worked out to buff up 1 arm while keeping the other one "normal"? They're divorced, and I think they've been divorced since my friend was a little kid. I don't really know what he did to his ex wife, but whatever it was it was a long ass time ago, and either way, that's her problem and not her son's. If her son decided on his own to donate his liver to save his father's life, she has no business talking him out of it. That is pure spite, pride, and manipulation, and it's disgusting.

I really need to talk to him about this seriously, because so many people die while waiting for transplants. He needs to get on the ball if in his heart this is what he wants to do. The whole thing is very odd.

Aeon Flux is looking HOT so far...and not just in terms of TnA....I'm definitely going to see that....and it just happens to hit the theatres on my birthday.

haha...Boondocks is the funniest thing on CN since Venture Bros. This Uncle Ruckus character is killin me :rofl:

*sidenote---I thought the kid with the cornrows was a girl at first....yeah, I've only been a casual fan of the comic before this....my mom is quite the fan though...she read that comic regularly.

You're right. Charlize Theron owns my soul right now (she owned me before, but in Aeon Flux she just...hypnotizes me). Funny how such an ugly woman in the cartoons can make a difference when compared to God-like Theron. :wow: :clap:

I've randomly seen some of my guy friends naked or some form of naked. It makes me giggle. My sister saw my boyfriend's wang on accident and it made me sad though. It's my wang :(

Was playing Guardian Heroes...I need to point out, once again, that the Undead Hero is so fucking gangster it's fucking ridiculous. Other than that, though...there's a debug mode, where you can see the hit detection (red boxes for things which hit, blue for vulnerable spaces, green for blocking, etc). All 2d games should have this, especailly fighting games. It just looks too cool. I think Night Warriors (Darkstalkers 2) for the Saturn had it...

Yeah, so there's this dude I see around sometimes, usually at night... Quiet guy, a little short, pretty normal, I guess. ...he dresses in drag, sometimes, though. Like, sometimes I'll see him around and he'll be dressed normally, and sometimes he'll be in a dress, with earings, etc. Yeah. Not a good looking chick. Not the WORST looking chick I've ever seen, but unattractive, even without the penis.

2 last things about the girl at work I was mean to for no reason. I'm going to be try to be nice to her, when I see her next (if ever). I'll try. Because I'm supposed to. What I've been doing, while amusing, isn't very nice. Secondly, a little re-creation of our final(?) conversation.

And this was funny, because her facial expression actually looked sad. Like I actually, really hurt her feelings. She didn't cry, though. I will again point out, that I'm NOT a bad person. I'm pretty sure.
Also worth mentioning, that she just acts this way because I always tell her to go away, or to ignore her, or just give her the standard "SHHH" before she can finish her sentence. At least that's what I assume. She is an outstanding victim.

This Miller Lite commercial with Flava Flav is the shit.
