hey all, these cases are looking pretty good to me, and i have an Idea as to what I want, but I've got a question.
has anyone tried having both art + etching on any area of the case, and how does it look?
that is, inside of case -> plexi -> art -> etched plexi -> outside of case.

Ok so I'm looking to get one, but I actually like the look of the ver.A more than I do ver.B. Is there any option on Art's website that lets me get ver.A or can I just buy the extra replacement border and replace the support panel of the ver.B?

I'm pretty sure you can order an extra boarder and use it instead of the supper panel, like you said. I would wait for a more official answer, just giving you hope though ahha

    That wouldn't work properly.
On the A version, the top panel is drilled to hold the screws for the JLF mount. On the B version, the support panel is drilled while the top panel is smooth.
Also, the spacers and screws for the JLF mount are different lengths for the A and B versions.

Ah thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'll e-mail Art and see if there's anything that can be done about it.

Take it from this guy.. lol.. I just figured it would work :P I also like the look of the two boarder pieces, looks nice color scheme wise. However the top support panel is nice, gives it more stability er sumtin ya feel me doe

Yeah I can understand why people would like the extra support that ver.B has to offer, but I probably won't need it. I press the buttons with little force (a lot of plinking, piano-ing, and double tapping) and I'm not rough on the stick at all, so I'd rather get something that looks nice since I won't need the extra support.

Will e-mail and see what Art has to say!

Does anyone know what size the screws are on the bottom of the madcatz te/ tes sticks? The tiny one that hold the panel in place and the larger ones that hold the rubber feet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have a PS360 in my tech case and wanted to buy the hsb headset pcb. Do I need to drill a certain size hole into the tech case to make a headset port or there an easier way? I've never put a headset port in before.

Hey Art, I was kinda curious but how exactly does the mirror purple/light purple look like? or would it be possible if you can put some pictures of each of the colored options on your site? Reason I ask that is because I've been thinking about buying one of your cases but I'm just not too sure what colors I want to use due to the lack of visual information. If you would reply that would be most appreciated.

hey guys, I know I've seen the black opaque acrylic panel somewhere, but I just can't find it. I want to order an acrylic case, with a black panel on top, everything else clear. I just don't know what it would look like, and can't find any pictures. I went through all 19 pages. Are there any other forum threads to look into? Also would a fluorescent red panel on top might be worth looking into? Again, no pictures of these items. There's a fluorescent green panel on the website though...

Hey, what if i want to add a headset jack on that case. Is there without having to drill the case myself? I plan on using it with a ps360+ headset pcb. Thanks

Switchcraft does make a patch panel blank. It looks like its a cover place for covering a hole a Switchcraft or Neutrik passthrough device once fitted.
You still have to drill a hole in that blank panel piece. You also have to solder the correct wiring to your audio jack.

Xbox 360 headsets are size 2.5 mm audio jacks.

Keyboard stickless movement layout and american six buttons, that is one funky custom top you got there.

I really dig the melty + bb scheme though, looks gorgeous!

Oh man the edges on the top layer are sharp. Is there a way I can make them more comfortable? I'm using masking tape right now just so it doesn't bother me too much. I might resort to wrist bands lol.

    Thanks for the compliments, guys.

@LLeg3nd About the sharp edges, my first though is to rub the edge with something made out of hard plastic or even metal. But I'd do it on the bottom edge first, to make sure it doesn't look funny.

I've been wanting one of Art's TEK cases for over a year have been designing artwork for one since then. I finally bought an all black one (minus the front panel so you can see the name plate) and it arrived earlier this week. After putting it together, it is a high really quality and solid product. Nicely done Art.

    All pieces I ordered.
    IMG_20131216_190415_zpsd196ffb4.jpg

Completed TEK case without any artwork applied and the clear Seimitsu buttons and bat top that I had on my old TE stick.

Been about 10 months since I built mine, and I'm noticing lots of dust has become trapped between top and bottom pieces. I'm guessing this is because I have pictures in both of them.

I'm probably going to be taking this apart at some point to redo the wiring. Anyone have any tips on how to keep the dust out? I'm thinking I could rub a clear silicone into the crack, but I wanna know if someone else has tried this first. I could use tape too, but I think tape might look pretty trashy unless I'm able to hide it very well.

I like the idea of clear silicon to seal that seam. If I was going to try something like you are talking about, this is what I would do. Should be easy to remove if you ever want to swap art out too. I say go for it. I would be very careful not to push it too far into the seam though. Try to keep it all on the outside. Post up and show us how it looks when you're done.

I know I probably posted this in the "Check out my New Arcade Stick" thread when I built it up a few years ago, but I'll just post it here too:

    A77183C7-BD58-4D65-A5BC-05F4F0184F1F-3088-000008AE5D2DA108.jpg

Clear on top (for the artwork I set up for it that Art also printed out for me), with Black plexi on the bottom, front, and sides. The back was left clear too to see the "Galaga Fan" name plate. Art was awesome to deal with, and my Dad, being the Galaga fan that he has always been, loved it as a Father's Day gift. Just posting this up as a testimony to the awesome work Art does. The case is pretty straight forward to build, and the thought that went into the design is top notch. I got this one without the optional weight slots, and personally it feels fine to me - but it's nice to know that Art even thought enough to add that; I'm sure it was based on user feedback, which he has always seemed receptive to. Major Thumbs up once again, Art!!!

i've been using the case almost everyday so far and really like it. a problem though is the edge of the plexi irritating my wrists from playing 20 minutes or so. any good solutions for the sharp edges? i guess once winter comes along, long sleeve sweaters will help but i was hoping there's a way to apply a rubber guard or something.

tek-innovations offers great Acrylic joystick case with wide color palette to choose from mix and match and you're good to go. However this case is not practical for reopening and fixing something somehow you will feel like breaking it especially when the acrylic make squeaky noises but trust me it's not going to break. I recommend building with this case if you are knowing what you are doing like buying arcade parts or crimping some connectors, however this matter is subjective to persons knowledge or background in-building geek stuff.

    game play review:
on a table or desk this case work perfectly well the rubber grommets provided was excellent. on lap the Acrylic somehow dose not feel right but don't get me wrong the case is solid when it's all together in one pace it dose not squeak or bend down.

i was shocked when i first played my ultra street fighter 4 game on PC there is no delay on miss pressed button !. the generic PCB from Aliexpress promised zero delay and it did. to put this in easy way it is faster then my qanba q2 pro. i was able to fit 20 feet printer cable with no problem. i recommend buying this PCB instead of the PS360+ if you are playing on PC only like me because this PCB worked with all my games on steam.

    cost:

Started reading this thread while looking for ideas for different artwork for mine. I built it last year, but I didn't post it here so I might as well share now:

TEK model B case in clear and purple transparent, Sega Player 2 layout, Seimitsu transparent buttons, LS40-01 joystick with the spacers left in so the shaft sits lower, and artwork laser printed on overhead projector transparency, then sandwiched between the lid and the support layer. The balltop is a custom 3d printed Skullheart balltop from Cuddleburrito.

    Tcwm26n.jpg

    Closeup of balltop

    GQHIn5p.jpg

I also built the stick during a 3 hour livestream on the Skullgirls subreddit twitch channel, and a timelapse of this stream can be seen here:

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=CAsQ646_62Q <-- Embed won't work for me

Alas I can't post the whole video because the music I was playing at the time was blocked in just about every country everywhere. I did intend to one day edit everything into episodes and dub it over with a new soundtrack but that never happened...
